This server merge was a terrible mistake

First, people cry for a merge, and now they complain about it??? Is just like the mongo event when people cried for supply of feedstock and alkahest and other consumables, and once we had that, they started to complain about being too much??? you can never make anyone happy.
because it was day one, wait first october to see if this server is so lived or tommorow when people will move to ascension valley
As a guild master myself (I have been leading the same guild in AV for over 2 years now,) I find it incredibly disheartening to see another guild master that refuses to keep up to date on the game he/she is leading a guild in. Other people have already said my points; your simultaneous inability to adapt and persistent ignorance is to blame for your discontent.
So far I have had NO issues with anyone in the server and welcome the new people.
I say TY EME - Smart move and we appreciate the larger community
And How I Will transfer 9 Toons with all my inventory tabs full, all my wardrobe full and almost all the inventory full for everyone, plus the items on the broker, and 3 million golds?
Do You care to explain?
Please, tell me how without spending money.
If your criteria is "there will be some unhappy people and they will leave the game," it will be hard to make any decision. You still try to mitigate it, but the only way is to look objectively at the evidence.
It's not a question of "liking PvP." It's a question of understanding the actual effective dynamics of PvP on a PvP-65 server, and the fact that it's completely possible to progress all the way through end-game without ever having to leave a safe zone with the way the game is designed now. This is the same way the game is played completely in K-TERA, as they don't even have "PvE" servers, so players there who dislike PvP are able to get by entirely without being inconvenienced. It's baked into the design of TERA. Many PvE players just aren't aware of how it works. It doesn't mean they'll turn around and like PvP; just like in K-TERA, many will remain PvE-only.
The "it's not what I signed up for" issue also extends to broader issues like the lacking end-game community on HW -- people didn't sign up for that either, but it's an issue they faced. So solving that problem required a creative solution that requires everyone to do a bit of compromising on their principles.
And besides, if it's people who spent money to get those character/bank slots probably already purchased a physical copy of the game (which is the best investment you can make), and have the ability to afford the remaining slots they need, if they really insist on fully moving over. The people who had more than 16 (or even more than 32) combined characters are in an even more perilous situation with no real solution short of deleting characters, and they arguably paid even more.
It would not be fair just to allow "select" people to do this, particularly by those criteria. The selection process would just invite even more drama and accusations of unfairness. But allowing everyone to move everything would run counter to the objective of the merger (which requires most people to stick around to make FF better). So there's no real fair solution to address the concerns.
^^^ You said it yourself. EME has NO way to please everyone, and they did what they thought was best. I don't usually defend EME because they [filtered] up a lot, but just go to AV. Make new friends. Grow new roots.
I've been going through a lot this last month. Family stuff, work stuff, etc. Don't act like you know the situation.
You have 3 million gold and a bank/wardrobe full of assets. It seems to me that it's time to play the market.
Of course there's no solution where you can do nothing and just automatically get moved over, and as already established that's by design to encourage people to stay. My advice to you, as someone who is PvE-focused with many characters on HW (now FF) is to stay because the effective risk is near zero. But if you can't do it for whatever reason, might as well take it as an opportunity and try to make the best of it. There are some important market factors that can be leveraged right now with all this going on, and the gold profit from leveraging that supply/demand should be able to buy the slots you need.
Not going to explain everything since you're a big boy/girl and can figure it out yourself but here's a few ideas...
There's pet banks, convert gold into gems/costumes/cosumbles, each new character can carry upto 200k, and play smarter.
(I still don't see the point, but hey, it would work. It may take a few "trips.")
You missed my point. I don't want to be in a PvP server any more than I want to be in mine, I'm a PvE player. But it just doesn't matter. I've leveled on MT before and never had any issue whatsoever with the open world PvP. People always left me alone, and in the event someday they do not, there are ways to avoid it. People are just making a huuuuge ruckus about the server having OW PvP. It has little to zero impact on your PvE. So if I was one day dumped into a PvP server, I wouldn't give a damn, because I'll continue going about my business.
Not saying they couldn't have merged servers differently, but I'm saying that what happened, happened, and it isn't so bad at all.
what you see as good only makes you the same as all the others in global,
1) lfg was clustered by zillion post 1% of which were for dungeons others were trolling,
2) global chat reached new level of toxicity when those pvpers from lot joined vot and now it is one insane spam where you cant even advertise anything cause 10m ppl spam insults to each other,
3) eme made those who will transfer spend hard earned gold or even real money on char slots and bank expansions,
4) eme made us delete developed characters cause you cant reach so many slots
5) eme forced pve server to merge pvp
6) eme made zillion events 90% of which were fails
7) eme made an event with huge mistakes then repeated the similar event in a few months again and repeated mistakes instead of learning something from it....
the list can go on forever, what i can see you are just a ghost account from one of eme employees who are there to praise themselves that they did a good job
An exp player being here for years can see fail after fail after fail and recognize it....those newbies cannot understand that and what is happening to the game. Sure the new server is bigger then those 3 individually were (cause they are merged
You speak as if I'm a new player and wouldn't recognize fails. But I've been here since February 2013 actively, every day, and do recognize fails. I don't think this is one. If server doesn't work out, that isn't EME's fault (I go back to what I say, "the new server is what the community makes of it"). Global chat being toxic? Big news.
A lot of people wanted a merge, and it happened. It might not have been the way some people wanted, but geez, stop being soooo negative about absolutely every single thing.
show me the post where highwach asked to be merged with vot or lot
or a post where lot and vot asked to be merged with highwatch
i have to agree with sale, enmasse is responsible for this situation, they created highwatch and open free transfert to mount tyranna, we are in this situation because their fiasco in august 2015
