I'm sorry to say this OP but this thread isn't going anywhere
1.) You stay and in holy PVP words, "deal with it" or "live on the run from ghost channel to ghost channel - safe zone to safe zone (Oh the thrill of living on run! fun! I already miss that from PVE servers (like, who even want to play with on channel 1 with other players, eww!) /s TL;DR conform/adapt or gtfo).
2.) you leave for AV and pay the price. Some higher than others (RIP over x16 65 characters /+15/Costumes/etc)

3.) you quit tera

if you have so much to carry it makes you rich player i guess. go to broker, buy felicity or two and you'll be able to carry all you have in your bank. you have too much gold and 200k per character is not enough? go to bamarama and buy diamond tickets and problem solved. just stop being such a drama queen already.
spend some gold and buy inventory pets....

Funny thing is the sole reason why players are upset is mostly due to their own paranoia.
I threw myself on my mount as a red player and rode across the entire map of Northern Arun (not just highwatch just in case people mistook for just the city) just to scare people off (didn't really want to stack infamy and the staff on my back shows that I can't really kill without putting way too much effort). There was literally NO ONE. Even in MT you will still see the occasional level 60+ players doing their quests.
Then again, MT is as PvE as TR is now, but still.
"The safest place is the most dangerous place" have never applied so well before. If you are really doing gathering quests to speed up, you should do that now because EVERYONE IS SO PARANOID THEY DON'T WANT TO LEAVE TOWN.
The merge is already here. I would dare say that the experience that I had when I was in Highwatch was no different from the start of Fey Forest. Even if it is just day 1, where people get paranoid over the simplest of things.
So You say that I must waste my gold, sacrifice it in other word. Sorry but You aren't telling me how to keep what I have without loses.
I already mentioned key ideas to transfer everything, its up to you on how you want to make or lose gold...

I did. After about an hour of /location and eventually begging people on my friends list to kill me, I finally got PK'ed. Man. These PvP'ers are brutal! I was just minding my own business, doing quests, and then BAM! I find someone who is willing to kill me so long as I go to their location. I didn't see it coming, man. I'm afraid to do my dailies now. Afraid that someone may offer to kill me so long as it doesn't inconvenience them too much.

But yes seriously this is the situation now. No one is really being PKed, even for the daring few who went out. Outlaw ended up making a pretty-looking decor below my character. Not even sure if its because Highwatch already left, or people are just stuck in their rabbit holes being too afraid to go out.
