Selling an item that gives an advantage in combat via the cash shop just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I would consider it p2w.
Personally, I'm planning to drop money on these dragons because they're very aesthetically pleasing, and I play healers so I could care less about the buff, but this entire thing just doesn't sit well with me because I've always considered Tera very fair in terms of the f2p model. And it seems like soon it won't be anymore, if we keep going down this slippery slope.
I don't think the nodes were changed up or Felicity is "bad" in some sort of attempt at equalizing. But, regardless, this sort of proves the larger point I'm making: when they sell items that buff stats in some way, how people end up feeling about it is all about the exact details of how it works. Even though Felicity exists, people look at how it actually works in practice and rationalize that it's "not that bad" because there are other ways that don't require that item (and EME also over-supplied it for a while through Elite gifts, so the broker price went down enough so that most people who wanted it could get one). So we really need all the facts to understand the impact of this particular set of buffs.
I don't think Felicity should be counted a stat boost. I think it's ok that it basically saves production points because they're not actual combat stats and you can stockpile Crafter's Cures. It's kinda like Regen mounts. It's nice to have but doesn't really affect anything.
Increasing a player's Crit Power by 20-25% on the other hand is really massive. Even a one time use per boss is huge if if it lasts long enough (10 seconds of 15-20% more damage anyone?), especially since effects like Contagion, DPS Brooches, and Adrenaline Rush exist. Just imagine if Blacksmith's Hammerstrike was a cash shop passive.
Selling an item that gives an advantage in combat via the cash shop just leaves a bad taste in my mouth is just P2W, contents could be cleared if you have the skills and such, there's no need for our region to have a cash shop item that provides stats that has a large impact on our DPS. Even though I know how P2W Nexon is and BHS is basically creating things to stroke that P2W-ness.
Edit: Along with it being a cash shop option aswell
I mean, any veteran will be able to get mounts. Only newbies can have any trouble. Of course the p2w feature is there, but it's not so pure neither so strong to create any alarm.
Nodes used to respawn every 30sec. If Felicity had existed back then, you could make an auto-gather argument(which I'd counter with a macro argument). But, as things are right now, auto-gathering only works during events(or if you have a certain amount of felicity accounts and can run them at the same time). Rest of the time, you still gotta do everything but press "f". And i didn't say Felicity's poor detection is an attempt at equalising. But it does make it slower to gather with one and certain nodes cannot even be picked up by the pet(as in, at all, no matter where you stand, Felicity just won't move her behind).
Those would be the main reasons people don't feel like Felicity is p2w. It still requires a reasonable amount of effort to use in exchange for, effective, reduced gather points(aka, you need to spend even more time running around like an idiot for a small gain). The mount on the other hand requires 0 effort beyond the initial purchase. It's a flat-out boost to dps.
With that said, if it's uptime is like VM procs, it'd be pointless enough anyway. If you can't count on the damage boost for specific phases in a fight, it doesn't matter all that much.
Hmm... Hello? Quatrefoil brooch and Imperator +15 are not cash shop only items... they are not in the cash shop at all in fact. The issue I'm pointing out in this thread is that these mounts so far would only seem to come from the cash shop, likely from a RNG lootbox, with no in-game source to bring them into the game.
right now we all just assuming things.
even when u said the mount gonna be exclusive from cash shop, it just an assumption.
what if eme gave out the mount for free, to good grill like me?
