  • The server I am on has enough players that the areas are crowded when doing quests, no issues with match finder for dungeons either. I was really shocked at how fast the auto linked up a group.

Honestly, population is always decreasing. So if you thought it was dead before, it's the same now.

    It's worst.

    No comment on this.

If you really want to paste proof here, make it the same like in NA/EU BnS.
    - post reasons why people leave (e.g. bots, spam)
    - post HW with 20 characters afk only on NA prime time
    - post login server queue 1h vs. instant server login (we dont have that)

do NOT post weird measurements like
    - chats in global per minute on 4am NA timezone
    - waiting time for KN, MC or likewise
    - zero active players in some lvl 15 countryside

Again, I've seen an MMO dying and it's completely different. It starts off like BnS where you have masses of players returning to their old MMOs (like me) and ends with people asking to get a refund on their prepaid subscription-year (BnS).

I left BnS after around a month or two and figuring it had too much pvp focus (and said pvp was a royally broken mess) for my taste (heck the bots and gold farmers weren't even a problem to me). Is that game THAT dead already?

I personally take vacations from Tera. May take one soon, but I usually come back because there's always something for me, despite me not doing pvp nor top end game. I always find something here for me to mind my own business with, so I hope for the life of Skywhale that Tera doesn't die soon. :3
  • Well Tera has seen better days thats for sure, but its far from dead.
I just wish BHS would start to do other content.
This game has some awesome locations that are barren of people because bhs wants you to get to 65 asap to join the neverending cycle of gearing up.
Tera is stuck in this infinite loop, well lots of mmos actually are, but they atleast offer some form of other entertainment then running dungeons for weeks and then afking in cities...fishing, housing or other social activies...tera has none of that so once you had your fill, there is pretty much nothing else to do till the next gear cycle.

For an answer, in my opinion Tera isn't dead. I still see plenty of places with channel 1 marked Medium or High and a bunch of people running around doing stuff. It may not have the numbers other AAA mmos like WoW has, but Tera is far from dead. I've been on dead games, where you can run miles upon miles and only see monsters and NPCs. No players. And all chats are empty. Those are dead games.

The only MMO that has numbers like WoW, is WoW. WoW is the exception, not the rule when it comes to MMOs.

Tera was listed at number 5 in gross revenue for subscription MMOs by Superdata, only WoW, Fantasy Westward Journey, Lineage 1, and SWTOR are ahead of it. It probably would have been number 4 had it not been a huge year for SWTOR with the new movie (it was ahead of SWTOR the prior 2 years).

If Tera is considered dead, well there's not really many games doing much better.

    Hi everone,
i have a simple question for u. Tera Enmasse servers PVE/PVP.. Is there any populations or is over/dead. I mean, that if game is still very active, alive with high population.

    Thanks..

    Plesabe be honestly....

Completely dead! Every reply is was by a bot, even this one!

When new players create a fourm account but have no character in-game they get these random letters assigned to them. Had the same happen to me, then I created my character than thus, the forum updated my name.

EME is Alive ! in 2015 It was pretty dead.. It all came back when the Ninja Patch Released. As for Fay Forest now thanks to the merge we have a Tripples population even Greater than MT. So this year has been good to all of us. forums is too alive btw.

in 2015 i see more people in my server than this year, do you remember than highwatch was created in 2015, because too much people in pve server?

and pls stop with your ff is more populated than mt, since free transfert this population has decreased

I Truly question that website's data. TERA hasn't been pay to play in a Long while.
  • Probably has to do with Tera originally being P2P and they don't bother updating it. SWOTOR was P2P but switched to F2P also. Hence why they might fit under that bracket as opposed to the F2P bracket where those games started out as F2P perhaps

In all honesty, it's not as alive as it use to be. Three servers were just barely clinging on until they intervened and merged them. I've tried Fey Forest, it's losing a lot people, because it's a pvp server so people are transferring to AV.

Also note, the danger of server merges is the economy. MT has the most stable economy, prices are generally much lower. The more people there are in a server, the more awesome the economy is. If you play FF expect less variety on items, less people are contributing to the economy which means everything will be higher.

But to answer your question, yes this last patch has lost of a ton of players because their isn't really anything to do. Every update tera seems to get a lot of players back so we just have to wait for the next update

Before AV transfer opened FF has the largest population of ANY server..

    lol.

  • On MT, it's usually always busy. Though, the PvP matches tend to take some time to pop. Perhaps that will change if there ever becomes a decent reward system or a way to gear up solely through PvP.
