Submit your boss-specific healer mini-guides!

  • @Based12 thanks for your thoughts and advice, some good tips there but I'm looking for guides on specific boss fights, like how you solo-heal ABHM, what personal techniques do you employ to maintain the distance needed on krakatox while still managing the party's debuff bleed. Stuff like that. There are plenty of general healing guides, I want scenerios!

ABHM can be quite messy depending on your party when solo healing, being too far from the boss is usually bad even though it might seem safe, since you might get secondary aggro multiple times (bomb, laser, drill, etc) and only having one iframe there's a good chance you'll die.

Prayer of peace can de-spawn cages as long as no one hit it (iirc, any aggro drop skills should work), remember cleanse is anti-stagger/kd, even though the cooldown was doubled it's still pretty useful, i think you can cleanse-cancel and still get the same effect without fully casting it, try to stay at 15m~ from the boss and move around it, move a bit further if double swing, and try to chase his back.

Also staying behind his right leg is a good safe spot for pretty much everything, and remember you can dodge lasers by hugging his leg, no need to waste your only iframe with that. And if your party is fine with dodging, try to keep their stacks, but cleanse yourself, 180 your camera so you won't hit them with the circle aoe and keep them fully healed with burst/kaia/immersion/focus heal, it can be pretty healing intensive.

Remember to arise if necessary, tons of kd's on krakatox, can also use grounding vyrsks/kaia endurance, being more tanky until you feel 100% comfortable with the fight.

Boss should be enraged 98%+ of the fight as long as your party dps isn't super low so you might wanna try a poised crystal and poisedly weapon dyads(those are awesome).

I have a few healer PoV's even though i barely stream/record anymore, hope it helps!

Good stuff! I've always spammed warding scrolls off CD in here for KD resist but i will need to try new techniques now that they are removing them. Will try the cleanse cancel thing.
  • @allwordnoplay I did stay far away from Krakatox at first too when I was newer to ABHM, but after trying out being behind him as much as possible, I can say that being behind him has worked out a lot better than standing far away has.
  • Krakatox is a boss on which you stay right behind. If he turns around you might want to kaia as it's anti kd (will protect you and others from damage too) or... you might want to time cleanse correctly as the animation of it is indeed anti kd. Arrise helps alot when others are laying there on the floor as it overwrites retaliate.
Prelock your skills when you see the boss is ready to do an attack that is dangerous so you can insta-heal your party members.
Kaia helps alot if people are low HP it buys you time to heal them, regeneration circle is helpfull too especially if you have the MP glyph.

Not sure how well it works for priest, but in SS on Imp, if you have a party that fails the shield or someone takes two debuffs you can iframe the throw so only one player dies. He will always target the farthest player, so if either of these happen, I run away to get targeted, iframe the throw, then res the dead player.

The timing takes practice and you general only get to with bad groups. This is something to do only if using double heals as it will 1. Save you if you miss the timing and 2. Will ensure that a dps isn't targeted since double heals can afford to lose a healer for a bit if needed.

if someone takes 2 debuffs on sshm u can pull that person... if u get the timing right you can cancel the mechanic or he will grab the person but wont kill the second sad guys that gets hit....

Also on SSHM: after 40%, on debuff cage, use ur kaias to absorve dmg.. If someone fail to kill a mob and it turns to that evil evil ball thing, put them to sleep....

one simple thing that many mystics miss: on DF u can jaunt from the back of Verno to the front... and vice versa.. easy way to ress dead tanks...

One thing that its not healer exclusive, if u see u are going to take dmg, always face the enemy (you got frontal dmg reduce roll on your armor probably).

    Sorry to bump this but this is a great thread idea, but nothing from our new patch! Just gonna post this for people who may not know already ;w;

    RMNM/HM First Boss
    - Mystic can give the dps a few more seconds of back time by using corruption ring to get hit by the jump that stuns (pay attention to his attacks to know when to position yourself) but you have to stay close after the stun for him to do the attack.
    - Priest can pull a stunned person to avoid them from being killed, it's also a good idea to pull them to an appropriate place if you can see your party's debuffs (if they needed to take outer debuff pull them to outer)cuz sometimes the boss likes to do the switch mechanic while someone is stunned, but don't worry about it if you can't tell

    RMNM/HM Second Boss
    - this really goes for every class, but ESPECIALLY for healers: sometime the spider doesn't want to eat the eggs so PAY ATTENTION to the bar at all times, if you see the spider isn't eating and it's 95+ don't risk it and tell your dps/tank to spam jump while you jump or corruption ring/ guardian sanctuary to avoid being pulled and one shot by the spider. Then make sure to feed the spider asap because it can repeat that attack after a while.

    RMHM Last Boss
    - Mystic: PLEASE DROP MOTES ON THE EDGE! The goldish ring is where I usually put mine, it will help a ton for the knockback mechanic. If you are solo healing you should start placing motes when you don't need to tend to your party right away, but if you are duo healing with a priest you don't need to place the motes until 60ish percent depending on the DPS
    - Spawn thrall of life a second after the boss is about to do the knockback (doing it immediately when you see the animation wastes the first heal that the thrall does, so your cleanse will not be instant. You should try to know the time it takes from spawning the thrall to the time it throws its first heal and time it accordingly for the best results ^^

To add onto, you can make him do the attack twice, if the Mystic, or person the Priest pulled, goes back near the boss after the first attack finishes he sometimes starts it a second time if he started the first one immediately or if he's not about to do his mechanic.

RMHM last boss, if you are the one targeted, as a mystic you can jaunt out from the ring so you dont have to deal with the lasers.
(same on sorcerer jaunt or ninja jagged path)
