This server merge was a terrible mistake

Everyone saw that the salty people are the ones who started to flame OP without reason, there is especially one user who insult us on every comment he does here.
About the quote, If a full server transfer would let FF empty that means that choice of EME was a mistake, however they prefer us to be tied to something we don't want and the only option, at least for me, is quit playing.
If full server transfer wouldn't endanger the FF server then EME did the right choice but seems otherwise for me.
I'm no trying to be disrespectful with the forum users but there are several who show us the very reason why Tera is dying and obviuosly they prefer to this game end up without players faster than suppot choices that can make them stay.
I'm not asking for money return not even a gift from EME, I'm only asking for me to stay in my choice of server that i want and that is FULL PVE and not a pseudo PVE/PVP65, that its just a PvP because You get at lvl 65 in one week.
Edit:
Here some proof FF is dying in the few days it has http://imgur.com/a/KEE5d. Strange that the so called bigger server on NA Tera has a recomended population and not high population, a lot of players drop the game or transfered to another server obviously.
That's the Sad True Here.
I already beggan to move some toons from that server but if I have to give up on some stuff that I don't want to leave behing then I will quit without a doubt.
It's been recommended since it launched...
or they can made mt pve only and all the ocean salt will come from mt
This will make even more unhappy people, as it will either become full pvp, or full pve, or the server that merges with it will be forced to become level 65 pvp.
So yes it was a bad idea, as it will cause even more problems for people in the future.
The original thread already had solutions proposed, one if which was to just merge VoT and LoT and leave HW on life support. HW was too big to merge with AV or CH for a full PvE server, and LT/VT would've been too small either way (but too large to merge with MT). It was a compromise, the PvP65 thing, as well as the free server transfers for ALL of your characters (provided you had the character slots on the other server for it) plus the 4 free slots they gave everyone on FF. Not good enough for you, maybe, but good enough for many others who may be only had 2 slots to begin with.
As for EME not being able to grant full server transfers for individuals, it's probably more of not being able to pull all of a single account from HW's data from the server database and adding that to the AV database. Even with a paid server transfer, you couldn't take your used bank, character, wardrobe slots.
As I've seen, most of FF was ok with the merge. Those who weren't already transferred and got the shorter end of the stick. All you nay sayers aside, I know I will do my best to promote my server.
You could ignore this thread but here You are kepping it alive.
TY.
The only ones who benefit from the merge are the PvP players since were their server that were actually death.
Making a PvE server into a PvP65 server its the same as making it full PvP because at least 90% has reached lvl 65 anyway.
You and Eme keep saying that the PvP servers were to small to merge only 2 but to big to merge 3 of them, You keep saying highwatch is too small to be alone but too big to merge with other PvE server, You keep saying FF is the most populated server but status say recomend population and not high.
What I see here is a Win-Lose stage, were PvP server win and PvE lose, because we lost a PvE server and now is a PvP server with a TAG of PvP65.
Why don't do otherwise?
Making it PvE65. Oh, wait! Because most of the game is PvE with the exeption of outlaws who likes gank undergeared players.
So why not making it the other way? A Lose-Win, a PvP lose and PvE win.
You and Eme say that Eme proposed solutions but no, those are not solutions, those are "we milk you more money if You want to leave the new server, because we need to make it succed, so we are going to give you solutions that would make you stay ot quit the game".
Ok.
Understood.
Also have the slight feeling of being attacked personally, but whatever, I expected as such. On some of your points (please forgive the really bad formatting :P I also like lists)
1. Benefits PvP only - I'm not sure how. PvP gets more people to PvP at end game but loses ability to gobsmack under 65 characters. That's a good change for leveling players. Level 65 PvE loses some of their safety but gains more end game players. My LFG has never been better. In this situation, the trade off may benefit of your so called PvP side more than it does the PvE side, but HW is not without their gains. Which leads to the next point:
2. Outlaws to gank lower geared played. These lower geared players are usually in a dungeon or IoD. They'll be too busy farming gear and enchantment materials to bother visiting VO often. Heck, I still don't know where the PvP hot spots even are. Others from PvP servers have also stated, they don't go all out of their way to gobsmack you because your simply not worth their time. Here's a personal anecdote: I never had a high level pwn me while leveling on VoT or LoT after the merge was announced. OP might have had some bad luck when they went exploring on the first day in the dawn of the merge. There isn't a raid of outlaws ready to 1 shot you on every map and channel. Your complaints stem from losing the security of knowing that no one can one shot you. How often would it really affect you? If you say all the time then I would like to call you out on it - you don't afk in VO on a normal PvE server anyways.
3. Milking money from players - let me soften this dent a little for you (or rub salt in your wounds, I'm not sure which it is). When the merge was announced I encouraged my guild and friends to make alts on LT and VT to take advantage of the buddy system. Those who did now have 2 bank slots sitting around and are ready for the bank expansions, as well as a bunch of other goodies that they can transfer to AV should they wish to. It was a combination of planning and keeping up with the news. Not the same as an account transfer, but good enough in some cases (on top of the 4 free character slots).
All in all, though this merge is not good for you personally I think it's a good thing for the end game and upcoming 30 man dungeons. You say I said FF has a high population. Please quote me on that. I only recall saying FF had medium population in HW ch1 when I played the other night.
You say I said HW was a too small solo server but to large for merge. EME said it, and I parrot it. Highwatch on HW went from a handful of people to over 50 on FF when I play... So much that some characters don't render for me and my fps drop from 60+ pre merge to < 30 post merge. HW could have been left alone, but that would have made more people quit because of how casual the server was.
Why not PvE65? If the situation was truly reversed it would be PvP from 1 (yes level 1) to 64. How many people would make level 64 alts and have those all decked out for PvP?
You say EME only gives you stay-on-FF or GTFO options. What about a compromise? Any good relationship has compromise, and that's what EME did. I'm sorry that you feel it's not good enough for you.
All three servers were eliminated and created a NEW one called FF. HWers stop saying that FF used to be HW. FF its a server on its own. And you are all part of it.
There's no point in arguing with @ElinUsagi , he/she is not willing compromise/adapt to the new changes and already has "quit". Any of their issue is a deal breaker and solutions provided by En Masse and the community will never be good enough.
I'm really sorry to hear you are having a bad experience with the community. I myself have actually been really positively surprised by my experience in-game, in the past 9 months, since I have started playing. The forums here are a different matter entirely, though, as evidenced by the vocal and complete lack of appreciation for other people's situation in this very thread. The fact that *this* is where you have to come and dig for information which is going to greatly affect you (like your server becoming PvP), deeply galls me.
Very few people got to voice their opinion on the merge, before it was "set in stone" and people who said "but I didn't want this" were told to just shut up. I can't say I feel like the decision was made with representative input from the community. Input, sure, but very select input. A poll amongst *all* players on those servers would have been interesting, at least. Would have felt more honest to me, even if EME had then decided to go with plans which don't align with the result, regardless.
I was saying that I have had a great experience with the in-game community, and I really have. I have met some truly wonderful people there and shared wonderful times with them. I'd encourage you to join us on AV, where we are now, but even overloooking the losses you feel you'd make (which I do understand) and despite the fact that I want Tera to survive for the great times it has given me, I still feel that the approach taken in this merge has been so awful that I hesitate to encourage a high-paying player like yourself to continue supporting EME.
It's sad, but true. Arguments about merging HW + LoT + VoT being the only feasible option to give the players on all of those servers a "healthy" server; claims about PvP65 being a substantial compromise between PvP and PvE; claims like "but the PvP status doesn't even matter, because nobody PK's anyway" (well if that's true, then why can't it be PvE instead?); claims that giving free and complete transfers for HW players to AV would "make the merge pointless, because everyone would leave, but the merge was still the right/best/only solution"; the claim that this was "what the community wanted", or "best for the community" --- all of that seems as thin and hard to buy to me as it seems to do for you.
I feel like I could easily poke holes in all of those claims and also suggest at least 2 very simple, clearly fairer and more effective resolutions to the "problem", but... I didn't come with the intent of arguing, so... Let me pull my handbrake here...
I came to say, @ElinUsagi , I'm sorry you are having a bad time with the community and I feel your sense of loss. I have lost things of my own, which I hold dear - in fact, not one of my friends is happy about the merge, even though they aren't here to say so. I think that there are plenty of good people in the community, though
PM me if you like
As parting words, here is a random snippet I happened read on FF area chat after the merge, which somehow strangely cheered me up
All the best, whatever you choose
