    "Weekly server maintenance occurs on Tuesday mornings from 7–9 a.m. Pacific."

    However, in-game it was announced that today's maintenance would take 3 hours instead of the regularly scheduled two. Just keep an eye on the server status page to know when everything's green.

    The game won't always be patched every maintenance, and if there are no patches, then there are no notes of relevance to release to us.

    And since it's 9:50 AM, that page announces absolutely nothing. Or does the difference between 9 am and 9:50 am confuse you somehow?

    Don't care what was announced in game, I wasn't there, didn't see it, you are currently proving OP's point that information is mostly given by players instead of the staff.
    Just keep an eye on the server status page to know when everything's green.

    I don't really want to play the F5 mini-game for 1h. If only they could do something...like...I don't know...maybe...could it possibly be...an announcement?
