Completely New Player Here

Hi i'm new to this game. Before going into the game i'm wondering if there is a guild or anyone that is interested in playing with me. Playing an MMO solo is not the way to go in my opinion and kinda breaks the point of playing online. I am interested and making a Priest, here is my intended glyph setup:

teratoday.com/glyphcalc#pr65:a1:e1:f3:h0:k04:o24:q2:A01:B0:E0:F0:G0

Please keep in mind I only done a bit of research so I don't know how to optimize my character properly but i'm a pretty quick learner.

  • You can change glyphs anytime. It's not that important for new healer.
    Priest Job
    1. Heal Spam. - Don't wait until party member lose HP. Use Restorative Burst and pre-lock on heal on tank and dps.
    2. Use triple nemesis with endurance debuff. you just need to shoot once on boss.
    3. Energy Star buff all the time. It increase 40 str and attack speed.
    4. Use Kaia shield right moment.
    5. Always, survive yourself first then others.
    6. Don't chase after noob dps to give healing. Try to stay 45 degree from back of the boss. About 10~13m in distance.
  • Nice, I wasn't sure if they would allow swapping so I made sure to get a few ideas first. It seems the skill rotation hasn't change a lot, I am using this guide teratoday.com/content/tera-guide/tera-class-guide/tera-priest-guide-renai as reference but it seems pretty old so I wasn't sure if it was horribly outdated.
  • the glyphset you linked looks fine, and some swapping can always be done. its nice to see new players looking into the classes they want to play. i dont play on MT, but good luck on finding a guild and welcome to the game!

    1. This guide is from 2013 as the glyph calculator also is outdated. Tera is constantly undergoing changes and e.g. buffs have been merged
    2. You should go into the game first before worrying about glyph setup. All dungeons <lvl65 are not in need of a healing setup. The leveling parties have so much firepower, you sometimes wont even be needed as healer. But you can store up to 5 different glyphings for free and are able to change them freely anytime
    3. Healing glyphs depends on the party you're going with. Right now you have a very ambiguos opinion; on one hand you expect your team mates to die a lot and on the other hand you expect them to fare well without heal and focus on support
    4. Whatever you focus on, the priest excels in mass healing. This is why usually Healing Immersion is fully glyphed as well as Healing Circle
    5. As you get into more healing detail, you will also heal those players who run around headless and always fan out without reason. As Tera has a live combat targeting system, you may want to glyph longshot in the beginning
    6. Keep in mind that not all glyphs are available. Some you have to buy (with reputation credits), some you have win from boxes
    7. The glyphing also depends on your equipment. If it e.g. does not yield enough MP regeneration, you may have to adapt it

imo the healing immersion reset glyph isnt really needed, as you shouldnt rely on rng to heal your party.
also true the guide is a bit old but still a good base. heres some more recent guides i found if you want to check them out

The beauty of priest is that you are very flexible with some of your glyphs.

This is a sample glyph for PvE and PvP that I made off the back of my mind because I am not ingame. Do not follow it strictly as I have said, as there are things where you can opt for other glyphs in different situations: For example, in PvE there are bosses where there are no real debuffs, so purifying circle has no use, and in PvP GvGs glyphing resurrectiion could probably be a good-to-have skill in some situations, but has completely no use in battlegrounds.
