Gearing Progression Question

So I just hit 65 on my brawler and have the initial full dreadnought set. As such, my gear score is currently sitting at 371. The problem I'm running into is trying to farm those T8 materials needed to fully enchant my gear high enough to move onto the next tier of dungeons. My overall goal is to be a serious tank but I'm kind of stumped at the moment as to what I should do next.

Do you all have some suggestions on what I should do to upgrade my gear at this point?

unfortunately you have hit the wall that is there for all new 65's. before you went from tier 4 to tier 5 and it was ok, nowdays you switch from tier 4 to tier 8. converting tier 4 feedstock into tier 8 means you need 1296 t4 for one t8

. time for producer and publisher to do something about it. at least make all tiers to be converted 1:2. anyway, if you can afford to buy them, buy them. if you can't, simply be patient and play channelworks and kalivan's challenge, they drop dreadnaught gear which you can also use for enchanting, though not sure does it work after +9.

you should be doing IoD vanguard quests in order to get the materials. use your vanguard credits to buy mwa boxes and sell in the broker for gold. with that gold you can buy the materials you need

all you need to do is masterwork your dreadnaught pieces (and make sure you have full gold stat rolls) and have them enchanted to +9. Then as long as you have at-least some blue innerwear and a brooch then you should be right at 397 ilvl without having to use up a vast amount of resources on t8, and can start doing dungeons for t9 gear,

Feedstock is always a big problem for new accounts. Current sources give few and players are forced to spam the same low tier dungeons way too many times (how many channelworks runs are needed to install a light bulb?). Feedstock events from EME have helped a lot, and the current buff to gear on gear enchant makes using feeds for +1 to +8 a near complete waste (since gear+gear now gives 100% until +8), but still t8 feedstock sources are as grindy as t9 and t10, and as starter gear, it shouldn't be like that.

I actually did this just very recently.

Leveling naturally to level 65 it's so amazing that you have done a small number of Vanguard quests along the way and have also completed the full level 65 storyline, instant matched for a small number of Kuma's and have done some of the level 65 red quests that you can obtain in town, you should have about 10000 gold to your name.

I spent about five thousand of that gold on tier 8 feedstock and was able to fully enchant my dreadnaught gear.

I did not use any Masterwork Alkahests, just the personal ones that I was able to farm.

You can do Castle Aranea, Celestial Arena, Channelworks, or Kalivan's Challenge to bulk up in terms of money and resources.

You can buy a piece of green anywhere for just a few gold off of the trade broker to further boost your ilvl.

Starting completely from scratch on a new server, the methods I had just outlined before led me to getting a fully enchanted set of gear in just a few days.

Btw this was done on CH where T8 fs was 5 gold per, and everything was instance matching because LFG is dead

TLDR:

Spend money on feedstock
Do all red 65 quests in High watch
Instant match for Channelworks and KC
Do Celestial Arena and Castle Aranea
Queue for Kumas and win -> sell box you get from it

Island of Dawn is good too if you have the patience
