Civil Unrest Time

Hi! I would kindly ask enmasse to reconsider their decision of picking the time of 7pm-9pm PDT on saturdays for the Civil Unrest (New GvG)

-First of all, i do understand that this is tera NA and that enmasse has to cater to NA people needs above anything else. But let's not ignore the part that a lot of different people from a lot of different regions are playing and also helping keeping the game free and alive. Those people already playing at a disadvantaged ping and all that so i think picking a time where it's less of a hassle for them to participate is at the very least a way to show appreciation for them.

I'm not saying to change the time around them instead of NA players because this is still tera NA, all i'm trying to say here is that, the time for Civil Unrest is just too uncomfortable for most people from other regions with high playerbase, and is taking the chance away from them to participate in the GvG

1. 3am-5am for EU people = i don't think i have to explain why it's bad
2. 10am-12noon for SEA people = it may be a nice time, but it is SUNDAY for SEA people and I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one that goes out on sunday mornings

I don't know how big the playerbase on other regions so i only included the 2 regions i think plays the most outside NA.

Nobody ever complained about the Alliance Conflict time, so why not just do Civil Unrest the same time as conflict :(

Not a rant or anything just wanted to suggest a time change for this as this is something i was really looking forward to and unfortunately can't participate because of the choice of time :(

Would like to hear other people's opinion though! Share your thoughts? :3

  • Honestly, I'm stoked about this. I'm on the East Coast and that's right in my usual play time. Almost everything else that has been done was usually going on while I'm at work or eating dinner with fam. Hope you find a way to participate, but I'm definitely not complaining about the time window.
  • I read a lot of stuff in the forums but i rarely post anything :3

But i really really want to agree to this post and hope enmasse reconsiders the time as i really want to participate to this new GvG :(

Conflict time was still a lot comfortable for NA Players, and yet also much less of a hassle for people in other regions to attend to. Which makes me wonder why change the time O.o

    Anyway, +1 to this

I hope you have fun with this new GvG! and thanks for the feedback :3

Is what I am wondering about as well, conflict time was a really time, well at least less hassle than civil unrest time O.o
  • I'm fine with it, and I think its better for NA players ~+/-1hr (the region this game actually serves). Its better for those who go out or work or do whatever in the day without having to revolve an in game event around their daylight hours, like conflict always has. Instead of wanting to cater to unofficial regions that don't make up majority of playerbase, catering to the working or daylight outbound NA player is more in tune for an NA game.

Yup! I understand, but I still hope they at least change it to Sunday nights, instead of Saturday nights, if they won't change the time :(
And pretty sure most of the people that will reply to this thread atm will disagree as you did reply because you can play at this time XD I would like to hear EU's and Asian people's feedbacks later on, so I hope this thread stays alive Q.Q

Why Sunday nights? People usually have to work on Monday.

If you go out on the weekend to do something, that's your choice. Going out during the week to work isn't as much a choice as it is a requirement to survive. I'd rather give up my free time on the weekend to play TERA (since it's a game, and that is what free time is for) than have to stay up late Sunday night and then get up early Monday morning for work.

If 7-9pm Saturday for NA people is 10am-12pm Sunday for SEA people, wouldn't 7-9pm Sunday for NA people be 10am-12pm Monday for SEA people? That's right in the middle of the day, so many SEA people who work wouldn't be able to attend the event. At least they could attend if it stays Sunday for them.

Changing to an earlier time wouldn't hurt NA players, but someone will always lose out. If it's in the middle of the day for NA, it'll be very early morning for SEA. If it's a bit late at night for SEA, it'd be early morning for NA. NA, EU, and SEA all consist of wildly different timezones, so getting an event to be manageable for all of them is near impossible.

I can't see the reasoning behind changing it from Saturday to Sunday... most peoples' schedules are wide open on Saturday so can stay however late, but on Sunday I ain't staying up too late, I got work the next day. Saturday is the most logical choice, or even Friday night.

Though I'm sure the time could stand to be tweaked a little.

Well I play from SEA, and 10-12 is perfect. Alliance conflict is 7-9 and I'm not going to wake up that early lol. I do agree EU timing is bad though, rip 3-5AM.

If you do it Sunday night then you end up messing up the schedule for NA due to work being on Monday, and not many people are going to want to have to lose sleep for it. Also, don't a lot of Europeans also work Monday mornings anyways...? If you don't want to do something on a Sunday morning there's not much that can be done about it, considering the event goes up until midnight EST which is late for many, but it being on a Saturday night isn't an issue since Sunday is a day off for many. Europeans also at least have the option of going on an Eu server if the time is unbearable, messing up the times for NA players when their only option is playing here wouldn't make much sense anyways.

  • I have been playing for a year and never had too much of a problem staying up to 2-3am for conflict but with the new GvG starting at 4am for me and most european players, makes it quite difficult to attend. I think saturday is a good idea to have the GvG but would appriciate if the time could be earlier (conflict time, etc..) :3
  • The sucky thing about conflict is that my shift started about when conflict started. The sucky thing about GvG is that my work closes at 8pm PDT and I don't get out until 9-9:30pm PDT. The only thing that gets screwed over in Tera due to work schedule is the weekly PvP events.
  • Same.. ^

  • I'm completely fine with this time. I really hope they don't change it.

If EU people or SEA people are complaining about times on NA Tera, then they should've played Tera on their own region.

That's probably why EME chose this time, logically at least.

Also, most people have their work off during weekends, so Saturday is perfect day to make the event happen since Sunday is their free day.

Please don't ruin NA people's comfortable time of event in NA Tera.

I hope you understand that non-NA population forms a considerable part of the playerbase. EME's playerbase. It would be "logical" for them to at least consider the change. 1-3 hours earlier or later hardly makes a difference to NA.
