You will find a lot of people just afking, but that's normal.
kind sir, its not normal for healthy ''true action combat'' game. if they do so then something is wrong with game. guess what

ps and yes ive never said game is dead on serious basis. not yet.

It would be more worrying if Tera was designed as a sandbox MMO and people were AFK in a central hub, but since it's a theme park MMO it's ok because anyone doing anything is going to be inside a dungeon or battleground.
  • Here is Tera data on Steam:

There are probably more players playing outside of Steam, but the situation should be the same, the game continuously loses players.

    ?
So you expect every single Tera player to actively play or immediately log out if the player needs to answer the door, get a glass of water or needs to go to the toilet? Because this is where the definition of "afk" starts. As you do so, you might have never seen that the system logs you out automatically after a certain period.

But I'm really curious how player behavior (being afk) correlates with [the game being wrong]. Please explain.

@SaphirKanzaki don't bother asking kubitoid to explain, hes a troll, dont feed.
  • Thanks for all the comments guys! Is pvp pretty active? That's the main reason I would be playing I'm looking for a good pvp game.

Although I use steam at times to play TERA, I occasionally don't log on to Steam though to play it, so the numbers are likely not representative of the entire Steam population that plays TERA. You can after all, access the launcher and the game from the Steam folder without ever getting back on Steam.
  • Many knows me, I am one of the top complainers of the forums. I tell you, I see more ppl coming to game, I see less ppl leaving, I see growth, I see improvements, I see a very good, active, community friendly publisher (EME), Actually Tera these days has way better END GAME CONTENT, but we have the leveling which is really bad but in a nutshell, game is good, community is good and very active, you might feel some inactivity like me since my time zone is way different from West EU and NA.

I do not think you can use this data and assume it is proportional to non-Steam players. There is another category that would make these numbers shrink every month: players who found the game through Steam and now play directly without it because the Steam overlay causes additional problems.

I bought Bejeweled through Steam but I never play it that way anymore. The point is that there are known problems with playing through Steam and it is likely affecting the numbers.

man if someone is afking in da world hiding behind da bush its ok but when tons (ok dozens) of zombies afk in city's main square for hours where every living rock can be greatly impressed by their coolness its wrong. but its obvious. and it just shows. :+1:

cuteness for us the cute elin :3
