Buy Shared Bank Storage?

So, have we talked about a new feature of "Shared Bank Storage" now that Guild Banks are useless for Multi-account or Family Account holders?

I really don't get the logic of this guild bank change, besides greed or some twisted sense of "social morality".

Why do some games feel like they need to run everyone down whatever train track they think is the right way to play a game? Every change like this just drives some folks away by wrecking their play style. Do designers really think that feature changes like this draw new players that would not have played before?

I'm sure all this has been boiled over before.

Do some folks, Game Designers, Marketing folks, or Players, really feel some sort of "Moral Outrage" that guilds and guild banks were so easy to make and use? Do you feel better now? I hope so. I hope you players go out and spend a ton of money to justify the ones who move on to other games where the rules don't keep changing in some response to "Morals" or "Greed". When my play style I've built up for years has just been trashed, how likely am I to care about those shiny new dragon mounts?

How long has it been that a big feature change has made my play experience better? Or at least not trashed it in some way? I can't remember.
  • Fewer accounts per day logging in? Oh, right. 10 is too greedy. How about 6 arbitrarily.
  • Corsairs not available until 65? We didn't make a 30-50, 50-65 Corsairs club. We just trashed it. I guess that black armor was showing up too much in world. Or the 65 elite PvPers didn't want to play with Noobs.
  • No Guild Banks? Families and solo players who spend a lot of time in the game won't care that they can't share stuff.

Time to go dump my crafting mats on the TP.

Comments

  • Can't understand why there are such limited guild quests available. I'm guessing BHS doesn't realize that PVP is, and has essentially been dead from the get go. So basically the only guild quests available are gathering, and group dungeons. Again, the little guy gets left out. Not to mention the solo players. BHS is making it very hard to stay in this game. I'd rather pay to play wow.

I was just thinking why I saved stuff in my guild bank(s) Oh. Now I remember.. .To make it a lot easier to level a toon. Right. So we don't want to make that too easy. Right. So that's why we:
    • Nerfed the zone quests in favor of Story quests so you can level with only those if you like.
    • Upped dungeon rewards so if you can't bother with actually listening to a story you can just grind dungeons all the way to 65.
    • Give'em armor they need without even looking in the trading post, dungeons or stories, either way.
    • Oh right. And Avatar weapons. The original Level Accelerator.

But, noooooooo... Guild banks are far too much of a help in leveling a new toon. [Sarcasm intended]
  • I just did some review.. This bank issue is pretty minor. Basically, you have to be in the right guild to play this game. Not too small or too low a level or you lose out on all sorts of things. Not in a big guild with less active members because you can't invite more than 100 accounts to your guild. Also, back of the line for IM, Trashed in PvP since you don't have the perks. Guilds can't be too large, but then they broke sorting for kicking non-playing members? Anyway. IMHO it's nice to perk up guilds, but this update would seem to disadvantage non-guild players and those in small guilds, big time. Since when should an MMO be a zero sum game? Life isn't zero sum? Can't every play style win?

  • That's not why they removed guild banks though, lmao.

Guild banks were removed because people were using them as second banks, which is why instead of removing them they made them locked behind a grind.
That was my first guess. Greed.

Now we'll drive up the price of crafter's cure, and make the otherwise useless skill of gathering, useful for something other than an extra row of inventory. Guilds in Tera are pretty much useless anyway other than the bank. And now that's useless. The clock is ticking...
  • Logic is work for it [filtered]. and it is a good logic, Players like were cheating, 4 extra banks for many alts just by creating guild bank, not anymore, how is it a bad thing? They just want me to work for it. I should be mad at it with 14 to 16 chars in 3 servers, but I am not, cause working for it [filtered].

This is the most obnoxious and idiotic game update I've seen so far.

I'm GM of a small guild where people don't show up very often, and I use the guild bank to store some stuff like gathering materials and crystals for everyone. Scrolls and the likes... Simple stuff really.

Now I need to level my guild with guild quests to have access to the bank tabs?
This is insane! I have not much free time to play due to work and can't get enough people into my guild so we level it up.

This is just not fair for those type of casual / enthusiastic player (just not the hardcore one) that love to play and has gathered enough resources and saved them in the bank so far; now what do we do to the stuff we are going to continue gathering as always? The personal bank is already full with what, you ask? Stuff like Ambit tokens and others alike... Too much effort I put to get them, and finally when I was almost done, they make a new patch and turn those tokens obsolete. This behavior is also insane. I have a lot of prolly useless crap right now, since the outdated tokens can't be used at all, in any way (thats why I kept them, hoping I could use them somewhat like converting or something). I guess I'll have to trash them all now.
