Name criteria for new character?

I can't seem to type in a name that will turn off the notification that my name isn't valid. What is the criteria/requirements???

    There's also a name filter in it to prevent certain inapprobiate names.

    It was the no spaces and no caps inside the name that got me.

    Helping with name problems on forums is always a bit difficult. As we are an international server, we have also name filters that filter out terms like e.g. "jap" (afaik). So putting in a similar generic name (e.g. Peter.Parker.Spodermoon) usually shows you what is possible. I then change parts of the name which could be filtered (Peter.Parker.Spidermoon -> not possible -> "Spider" is blocked)

    As far as I know:
    • It has to have at least 3 letters
    • Uses [ . ] instead of spaces; can only use up to 2 [ . ]
    • Mustn't contain numbers
    • Obviously can't contain things deemed inappropriate
