EME: Please listen to player concerns and remove the crit power passives from the new dragon mounts

  • Lets say that EVERYONE on the server got both passives
A huge difference in DPS would still come down to who gets the luckier procs.
Whether or not the dragons are p2w isn't even the largest issue. Even if theyre obtainable in game, the passives are nothing but toxic to the endgame scene.
  • people would buy the mounts regardless of the passive, so either way eme would be funded
  • Adding another 4m to a single haymaker in a fight that might last for 5 minutes doesnt do anything special to your dps as a whole.

Using FA as an example is just dumb because you should not, and most likely will not hold FA to wait for a lucky proc, only to hope for the boss to be standing still, and letting you set up FA.

The only reason people are against this buff is because they think it will make or break the dps classes because they suddenly hit harder for 5 seconds, and then they go back to normal. Its not a massive increase in damage, Its a sudden spike to 2-5 of your skills, giving you maybe 10-15m extra damage on a boss with over a billion hp

Dragon mounts are great and everything, but the passive definitely needs to go.
  • I disagree. The rng of it procing is too low. Even when it procs, you would have to crit on your attacks. It's rng within rng. Besides, the buff only last for 5 seconds and thats barely enough time to do anything.

"Too late to change it now" It did not stop them with recalling hello kitty and that was just vanity among other releases as well. Also it would just be removing the passive not the mounts, there is still value in having your badas dragon

But some people paid for it just for the crit power buff. I don't min-max but looking at it from their perspective, there's no way I'm spending like $100 trying to proc a mount for the looks. When they bought the mount it was an understood deal that they were buying it for the crit power passive; that is why they paid real hard earned money for it.

I am actually against the passive being in game but it's almost impossible to remove it now. I know it says in TOS that EME still owns whatever virtual stuff you have in Tera, but removing the passive once you've paid real money for it is kind of crossing a really dangerous, really toeing-on-fraud line.

More than enough time to land a 10 edge scythe, 3 Fire Avalanche, 1 fireblast, etc, etc etc...

I haven't read anywhere so this is a legit question, Is the proc actually 5 seconds? because holding FA for a time like that seems to actually be a better idea since the extra damage scales hard with such a skill stacked with a jagged path, debuffs and enrage.
  • I disagree. The RNG proc last 5 seconds and has a 120 second cooldown from what I've been reading on the forums and reddit

You can do the math or whatever it'll only proc like 1-3 times during a fight depending on the duration of the fight. It's not even op...
  • I agree. TR is already too elite.
  • i like the buffs, im entitled to my own opinion so dont criticize me for it.
  • According to someone who's got the mount: It's incredibly easy to sync up with fire ava / burn, it's cooldown is 40 seconds and it procs very quickly.
Thought I should put this out here..

Let's take Nightmare Pahoegar for example. A score run (high parse, whatever you wanna call it) for that boss is sub two minutes. That's time for one fire avalanche. For a ninja, fire avalanche is easily 20% of their damage as it is right now. Boosting that by 50% is RIDICULOUS (so that it's a little over 30% of the total damage), and I guarantee you that ninjas will be holding fire avalanche for the proc during score runs. That just adds another layer of stupid rng to this game that doesn't need to be there.
