OK this is rediculous

Let me start by saying ive been playig since launch, always paid for my subscirption, am very very close to t7 reward and thast almost entirely from emp purchasing.. i very rarely regret purchasing emp even when i do spend more than i should.. but i just spent 400$ and didnt get a mount, and only got 25 dragon tokens even.. i couldve sold that emp and made enough gold to buy 3 dragons probably.. i rolled over 80 boxes.. meanwhile i see some peopel gettign 2-3 dragons back to back.. this just doesn't seem fair..

  • I wonder what RNG Is?
  • random number generator.....kinda like slot machine I guess
  • You're funny. Go on tour.
  • it's annoying which is why I will not be buying RNG boxes because I know from experience that I will get boned.

    DON'T BUY F'ING RNG BOXES!!!

Ever since they came out I have been screaming this, the only way to get rid of those infuriating boxes is not to buy them.
If people didn't buy the RNG boxes then EME would be forced to give us a less $#!% method of purchase.

Also (I have no evidence of this) but there is no guarantee that everyone has an equal chance.
EME could have different probabilities (based on EMP purchasing habits or other data) and adjust actual probability of winning accordingly.
I see some people win all the time and others who never win.
There is no guarantee that the wins aren't setup in some way, like 10 wins in the first hour and then a maximum of 3 wins every hour thereafter irrespective of how many boxes are opened.

EME won't say what the actual probability is, RNG boxes are an F'ing scam, AVOID!
  • it's called rng for a reason... you're either lucky or you aren't

    there's no scam involved

  • I don't do loot boxes anymore. I have opened more than 100 of the same and didn't get the jackpot item. that was when I had just started and didn't know what the deal was with them. I avoid loot boxes as if they had the z virus now.

It's a scam lol, the thing is you guys eat it like cockroaches eat your leftovers hence companies keep throwing it in your faces.

Even if you get the so called jackpot, that item does not even belong to you.

To be honest, if i spend money in game is to actually support it, i am not gonna throw huge amount of dollars to get items that are not even mine and to make it worse i only have a low chance to actually get them.

Even if EME pulled out actual log data that demonstrated it was statistically sound and the code that showed it was using a valid pseudo-RNG source and with no other biasing factors, people could still say "they're lying; they doctored the numbers; that's not the real algorithm" etc. etc.

There is no evidence that it is anything more than standard pseudo-RNG. But even so, humans are wont to see patterns where they don't necessarily exist. No one will ever be convinced even by any empirical evidence provided by EME. (And even if they underwent a third-party audit, some people would still suspect it if it doesn't agree with their preconceptions...)

All this being said, I have always said and maintain that the fact there's no fail-safe algorithm is really bad, and the fact that it's even possible someone could spend $400 and not end up with their coveted item is crazy. But in TERA, it is possible with the system they have right now. It should not be so. I will always say: post the odds, and implement a spending cap to get the rare. It's the right thing to do, IMO.

Once I opened 120-150 boxes, don't remember exact number to get an elf maid costume. I like the rng boxes in this game. The enchanting mats I can use to gear up my alts and main for the next gear cycle. I can't say the same about swtor, which is why I haven't bought any packs in months.

You also get Reward Points and credits for the shop.
  • I got 5 dragons out of 50 boxes including the 2 extra I bought with the tokens they proc'ed. Not bad at all. But that was my RNG.

yea. heard some people dropping around $300 without getting a mount. that's rng for ya. pretty rough. it's as if the chances getting a dragon from these loot boxes is lower than or equal to getting the jackpot from strongbox event.

PS. For those who dropped over $200 without getting a mount, i sincerely hope rngesus is better to you all in the future.
