TERA is NOT P2W
Hello everyone, hope you're doing well. With the release of the dragon mounts, the forum seems to have become a place where a lot of people are screaming P2W without understanding exactly what it is. First of all I believe EME released the cash shop loot box version first on purpose. We get it, you want to make some money first before releasing the in-game versions and that's fine just wish you'd be upfront with us about it. To anyone who thinks this is unfair, know that TERA is alive because people support it by being elite, buying EMP etc.
The dragons have a passive that doubles your crit power (royal version). It is an RNG buff with a low chance to proc. It lasts about 5 seconds. This is not a game changer. If you think you're going to wait for it to proc before using your best moves, you'll miss out on a lot of dps. Yes there are going to be times when it procs just when you need it to but those will be few and far between. When it does I'm sure we'll hear stories of ninjas doing 50 million damage using Fire Avalanche.
A P2W game, is the type of game that allows you to become god like simply by spending money. TERA is not one of the those games. Sure you can spend lots of money and buy full +15 Imperator set, see what good that will do you in a dungeon like SSHM or DSU where a one shot doesn't care what kind of gear you have. It takes skill, knowledge (and good ping heh) to be considered a god like player in TERA.
You don't just become one because you swiped your credit card. TERA is a pay for convenience, pay to get ahead and pay to look good kind of game. So please stop crying about TERA being pay to win because it most certainly isn't.
Thank you and have a great day.

Where exactly did you get the 2 power from? It is a passive with a low chance to proc or did you miss that part? It is absolutely not by definition pay to win because it is not a game changer. If it was a 15 seconds buff then perhaps but not 5. You're not even guaranteed to crit when it procs and you might die to something when it procs.
I run with someone today who had dragon mount, guess what did not make any sort of difference.
dragons are gonna be available in game in a while. It's not gonna be p2w because you have the chance to get it in game. Probably faster than these super low drop rng boxes anyway lmao.
Just sit tight and actually be patient.
If you have any idea what you're talking about, you'd realise that there's not much this passive is going to do overall. It's RNG meaning you don't know when it's going to proc and that's important. Because like I said before, waiting for a proc to use your best skills is a huge dps loss. Not sure how many ways I can say that for you to understand. It's RNG, low chance to proc. It's not P2W. Get over it.
People don't even know the actual perk those dragons give, how do they suppose to know the actual impact in game in dps charts?
If only people in this game dedicate to improve their own playstyle and personal skills, things like this would not matter at all unless you are aiming for min-maxing.
Even if here in Tera the phrase P2W is a blatant excuse, EME needs to care a little more of how they approach to the community with this kind of stuff that aren't only cosmetic because rodents are always waiting to chew you flesh using this vague argumentatively phrase and spread it like a meme.
The dragons are pretty awesome by themselves and I am bewildered by BHS' decision to tie in actual combat bonuses found nowhere else in the game. Why?
Also, I've noticed that the people calling TERA (NA) 'P2W' are the ones complaining because they're not willing to grind 2hrs a day for the stuff they want (I've done the math before, 2hrs of dungeons is enough for saving money for costumes, +15, alts, or anything) because "they have a job" or 'have a real life'. The issue is, I have a job (Actually, I'm active on forums from the job, because I can't play and sometimes I have some spare time) and I only have 2 hours to play before doing something else. I have a +13 weapon (Not worth to +15) and have tons of stuff and alts, still I can enjoy TERA w/o calling it pay to win, I can buy elite and save money enough to renew it next month and have some free gold for costumes, alkahest, or whatever I want to get. Of course I need to save a lot of gold if I would want to buy something like, let's say, a 300k dragon, but I'm free on weekeds, and I can easily double my game time for farming a bit more for such stuff.
TERA NA is clearly not P2W, you're just too lazy for anything in this game.
