Well. If the kings of warrior DPS ever decided to use their prowess to tank, DPS wouldn't be an issue. Best warriors dps well over 2M. With the buffs to the class, the best warriors could easily tank at 1M+ dps. Problem is most warriors don't like tanking either cuz they love dps or don't feel like learning the harder side of the class. Good warrior Tanks are like unicorns..

It's true that warriors in dps stance can reach very high numbers but a warrior in defense as a tank doing 1m+dps is not true. If they could reach that, then we would see them tanking more often. I've seen recent vids of skilled warriors tanking and they can't pull off the dps that I can do on my lancer. I'd like to see a vid of a warrior tank doing 1m+. Saying stuff is like saying stuff but walking the walk is what people want.

Now the 2m+ as a warrior as dps stance, is possible if it's slaying. The best warriors I've ran with, seen them reach anywhere from 1m-1.5m in a good non slaying run. To reach 2m+, it would require an absolute perfect attempt with all members of the party at their best, very skilled at their classes and everything has to go perfect. Also there are many warriors who love tanking as warrior tank but the issue is that the tanking side is difficult because of lack of certain things needed for tanking. It's just more beneficial to let a brawler or lancer tank and have warrior in dps would benefit everyone in the party.

I haven't seen anyone hit 1M in a vid or even done it myself. I just think its possible because I know I'm not the best warrior by any measure and I dps 700-800k/sec while tanking. 1M/sec seems very possible. But I guess "Vid or it never happened" until someone posts one anyways. I'm pretty sure if I work at it I could do it myself eventually.

  • Too many people are like that Unforgiven :(
  • Becuz it's IM. You should make your own DINM party with zerker tank.

    1. Try to solo IOD BAM with Zerker and War tank. Can u clear the IOD bam faster then same geared Brawler or Lancer with zerker tank?
    2. Zerker tank don't have utility as lancer. Or Dps as Brawler.
    3. Zerker tank doesn't have Infuritate skill to make the boss enraged.. DFNM boss doesn't need Infruitate skill, but another dungeon?
    4. War tank problem is, aggro ability is much weaker than another tank. Getting back the agro againt +15 dps is harder for War tank.
    5. There are plenty of Brawler and Lancer for DFNM. People want to finish dungeon faster.
    6. We need more tank for ssnm, MM, ABHM, DFHM IM or PUG. You should join as zerker tank instead of DFNM.
  • Eclipse won't be usable soon I don't think :(

Even if you eclipse if your tank isn't at least a little competent there's no hope.

    True but still relevant.

Its how Lancer/Brawler parties are able to do dungeons together and the full imp brawler wont steal aggro from a full slaughter Lancer.
Whether its needed or not isn't the point, the point is it does help immensely. Till the patch eclipse is a viable solution for under geared tanks or parties with no synergy. By time patch hits the under geared tank should have Starfall or Imp lance.

Nah that's how gear-carried dps don't steal aggro because they don't know how to dps in the first place.

A competent slaughter lancer should have no problems against any vm7 dpsers assuming they have the same buffs. Also assuming people don't die and reset aggro.

OK since u have a Lancer assume you do:

On Lancer do any dungeon with DPS glyphs only no aggro, dps crystals only, and just try to keep aggro from 3 VM7 +15 Ninjas
I wanna really see you do that and if u can BS want vid :pleased:
  • Well who's fault is that for not taking any aggro, at least in shout?

Seriously, Mocking shout should be made into an infuriate. I mean, comeon, It's called MOCKING for Christ's sake. <.<

if you choose to use IMS then at least give the party (regardless of role) a shot at the boss before kicking/judging.

    Digressing off topic:
What i actually hate most is that when you can see a player (esp. tank/healer) is playing badly

I beg to differ from that very much so. Because (and from personal experience) a decent tank or healer can be made to look really bad by party members that refuse to co-operate and then call others bad and have a really nasty attitude when they are clearly in the wrong and won't see it the other way. This happened to me with a +15 reaper and a +15 warrior I am the tank and they both run ahead and expect everyone to know how to do everything perfectly meanwhile the warrior is bringing Prima to my back as I am blocking attacks from Vera and they are calling me a bad tank and blablabla I have ran that dungeon with my lancer quite a bit and have had no issues until that run specifically because of people that are used to being carried because of their gear. They did not dodge or make use of a single mechanic meanwhile I am doing all the mechanics and ultimately I was glad they were from another server or things would have ended on a much more dramatic note. Anyway point is it is not always the tank or healer that is causing the run to be bad it can be some of the highest geared DPS therefore the supposedly more "skilled" DPS that cause the issues. At anyrate that is my counter statement to yours and in most cases those people run ahead from battle to battle so that they can avoid being kicked or go with friends or guildies that will share their point of view so they won't be kicked.

PS: Please ignore my lack of punctuation ;o

I get your point, but if it's obvious that they're trying to play a fool, any experienced or knowledgeable player will be able to discern whether the tank is really a nub, or he's just being pranked by those guys.

Just consider this. An experienced/skilled tank will be placing endurance debuffs and actually USING skills on the boss to draw aggro/frontal block, regardless of what others are doing (pranking the tank by pulling Prima to his back etc).

Also, many times I don't even experience the scenario that you described, but instead get to see brawlers who just use punch combos or stand there blocking most of the times (haven't met lancers who legitly can't tank yet throughout my entire game life).

If those guys playing a fool in your scenario called you a "bad tank" while you've been trying hard to manage (which will be obvious to a skilled/experienced player as mentioned above), then what you can do is to only ignore them. If the party decides it's a good idea to kick you just due to what those 2 guys said about you, then it just shows that they either don't give a [filtered], or are actually inexperienced/unskilled too. Just forget about it afterwards.
