My working theory is that EME forgot to remove the schedule for the Alliance Conflict, thus when the event scheduler tried to initiate that, it sent an invalid request to the servers to enable it which resulted in a crash. As mentioned, EME are not in the offiice today, which means waiting for whoever is on call to haul themselves down to the office and a) diagnose and fix the cause of the crash then b) restart all the servers. Amount of time this will take entirely depends on how easy it is for them to remove the invalid mode call relating to the removed content.

EDIT: I just realised it's the wrong day for Alliance Conflict, but I guess that the schedule for Civil Unrest was rewritten from the Conflict data, with one of the Alliance mode calls accidentally left in the schedule.

They have left the timer on the Welcome Message all week for Alliance PVP... Its been triggering all week so that can't be the issue.
  • could the new guild war event have caused the crash then?
  • How do you figure the servers are currently rebooting ? :(

How utterly stupid would you have be to not have people there on the day they introduce a massive PvP event?

Uhm this is very common for EME to not have anyone around when an event starts. If you have not been around long get used to it. Has happened for the long time I have been around.

Nope codes in scripts don't work like that. And good job realizing it's not Sunday. But your logic for our fix is very valid.

IS THERE NOT A SINGLE HACKER AMONG US THAT CAN HACK THE SYSTEM AND BRING IT BACK ONLINE?

If you load the game and get to the server select screen, when the servers are down you will receive one of two error messages. "This server is not currently available." means that the servers are currently entirely offline. "This server isn't up yet!" means that some of the backbone servers (login server, character server, scheduler) have begun loading but the world server (which is the one you actually select to play on) is not yet up.

Actually it is Sunday for me. Alliance Conflict used to take place at 8am Monday in my timezone.

Yes... on his couch =.= watching the Big bang theory comedy...

Why? It's not his fault the servers are down. I suspect he cares about the community.

That don't start for another hour or 2, so how could it be the issue?

We going on 1.5 hours now since the servers crashed now :(

So the servers are down, and nobody to maintain them ? :D

This one time a server and network admin had this program called nagios .. or netcool, or newcool OR ANYTHING

Just a reminder the servers are not at the office of EME. They are in a data center with a 24 hour staff. All that is needed is for somebody to contact the data center and have them reboot the servers, unless it is an issue with the even then a staff member will need to log in and dsiable the event. But still it sucks, i just wanted to get on and play a normal PVE game.

You have no idea how neworking and IT actually works so shush

+1 How utterly stupid you must be to not have people there on they day they introduce a massive PvP event.

Fix this in the future us as gamers do not care if your employees want the weekends off most events happen on the weekend it is part of most MMORPG's someone should be there for big first time events and patches to an even no matter when they happen. Take some staff off of the weekdays and put them on weekends temporarily to cover events this is not a hard concept and should never be ignored its just bad business you are currently loosing money from people not playing hurting both you and the player why? b/c you feel the need to give off two of the same days every week consistently. Terrible logic on your end.
