you'd think they'd have someone to babysit the network.

even someone that telecommute to log on to check and if the servers down do a restart of the servers.
  • All networks and servers should have remote access, it would have to be a significant outage to lose servers, network, AND the management network AND the lom network all at the same time

My working theory is that EME forgot to remove the schedule for the Alliance Conflict, thus when the event scheduler tried to initiate that, it sent an invalid request to the servers to enable it which resulted in a crash. As mentioned, EME are not in the offiice today, which means waiting for whoever is on call to haul themselves down to the office and a) diagnose and fix the cause of the crash then b) restart all the servers. Amount of time this will take entirely depends on how easy it is for them to remove the invalid mode call relating to the removed content.

EDIT: I just realised it's the wrong day for Alliance Conflict, but I guess that the schedule for Civil Unrest was rewritten from the Conflict data, with one of the Alliance mode calls accidentally left in the schedule.

I agree with the on-call idea. The amount of time totally depends on the diagnosis and resolution of the issue, plus how much time it takes for the individual who's on-call to get started with the whole process. Patience is the only thing we can have at this time.
  • we should be thankful that eme isn't petty and vengeful, and not do something like crash it on purpose due to all the flaming posts about the new patch lol....now that would be heartless. im thankful they are not like this, me......different story lol

I don't believe that they would do that. in all fairness, I think this new patch was too much to put in at one time and its messing up on them. like I said in my post, we should be thankful that they are not that way. many posts this week was unfair to eme, and I have to admit, that if I was in their position and some of these posts got directed at me......punishment ........... so yeah, we should be thankful they aren't that way.
