    2:43pm PDT, AV just died.
___________ is the name, AV is the server. Highwatch. NPC/F-key stopped responding, then all UI elements (inventory, etc), then just a popup "Server disconnected."

I really wish the fix was today and not Thursday T_T
  • Fix isn't for lag problems, but the Civil Unrest crash issues.

Anyway, 3 or 4 disconnects in the past 2 hours. Everyone in my group had it at some point, sometimes simultaneously, sometimes not.

General area I'm in is north mideast US, pretty close to the server location actually so normally lag problems don't affect me much.

It's only 2 hrs... it takes a while to troubleshoot any IT issues especially if its bad or have to figure out what is causing the issue

3 hrs now... But that's besides the point right?
At least Space finally commented in another post stating the hot-fix was for the crash involving "Civil Unrest"
And that their Technician's are still looking into the issue with the lag | disconnects.
    But They're two separate issues.
At least it's something. Better then nothing i suppose.

I just think BHS sent out a untested, screwed up Patch that is effecting everything.
Reason other Regions have had issues as well with the release of "The Guilded Age"

Now it's EME's turn to play Damage control with the Community and hopefully fix most of the problems in the build.
But since it involves so much work, They really don't have any answers as to when or how long it will take.
So they are trying to remain as silent as they can without further upsetting the community.

    More or less.
  • And on this note
    osSsgwL.png

Since i can't stay logged in for longer then 10-15mins just to gather.
I'm going to find another game to pass the time.
  • Constant disconnects. I will be in the middle of fighting bams and boom disconnected.

Sounds like there might be a problem with EME's isp that you should take a look into.

I have never, in the 4yrs that i have been playing had a issue with disconnects until "The Guilded Age" was launched.
Usually i sit around 50-70ms (varies) and my fps is decent.
Isn't on my end. Unless they changed something on their end.

A cause that our Platform team identified is related to the account authentication. TERA checks periodically to make sure the active account is legit. When it can't find a connection or there is some error, it can cause disconnections. They're getting to the root of this now and will continue to monitor once it's fixed.

One thing about this issue, however, is that while it can result in disconnects, it doesn't really cause extra latency. The high pings some of you are reporting still don't make sense as far as TERA is concerned. We'll continue investigating these as well but in many cases the cause is just a poor Internet connection on the player's part (check to see if you're lagging in other games) or latency somewhere en route to TERA servers from your Internet service provider.

Have you not been reading anything? Are you saying all these people from all over the world all have ISP problems? Don't you think we already checked our internet when we start to lag in Tera? Our net is fine everywhere, it's only in Tera we get massive ping spikes and then a disconnect.

As many people across multiple forum topics have stated, it's Zayo that's causing the issue.

And no, we can't all just change our ISP to avoid route through Zayo. You are going to lose out on massive amounts of players if you don't do something about Zayo. Perhaps maybe its time for you guys to change YOUR ISP instead.

We have no reason to remain silent, except with the goal of being honest with our players we don't want to speculate or give false information. Being silent is better than telling you guys something that isn't true. I hope everyone here agrees with that and sees where we're coming from!

When there's lag, disconnects, and glitches like this all popping up at once, it's easy to speculate as to the cause. That's how rumors start. In reality, multiple things are happening. It's not a single culprit with an easy solution.

Lag and the latency is server sided for sure, everyone on the server comments upon it.
I've maintained a pretty low latency from NY with a 100 Mbps plan, however the spikes have just recently started occurring.

Space, I completely understand where you guys are coming from.
But this is quite a inconvenience to everyone who is experiencing issues.
I could care less about Dragon's, Or Civil Unrest, let alone all the issues this Patch introduced.
Sure, They need to be addressed and fixed of course.
All i want to do is play the game. And if i cannot do this, That is is a major problem.
I been watching my ms constantly. It never goes above 100ms (that i notice)
But then all of a sudden, There is a Lag spike, I cannot do anything and i disconnect.
Sure i can reconnect moments later, Until the next Disconnect that is.
And like i stated. This has only recently started to happen.

But while this is being investigated. I already downloaded 5 other games to play.
Hopefully you can get things "Working as intended" Soon

Are you actually trying to insult us? Honestly curious. It's not on our [filtered] end. It has been several days now of this nonsense. Frequent disconnects. Frequent insane ping spikes. Maybe actually log into the game and take a moment to notice how it's affecting nearly everyone. Try to do some dungeons, see how that goes. Have fun. I personally enjoy dungeons where in the middle of the battle, 1-3 players will disconnect while the rest die or barely survive since we can't do anything as the boss rampages on. Look at any global or area chat. We're all suffering here because of YOU, and this happens almost every patch lately. At this point, it's better to not play at all for the first one or two weeks after a patch. It always takes you guys that long to get [filtered] sorted and kinda fixed. Without fail.

Beyond frustrating, and you have the nerve to continue spouting that "everything should be good, it makes no sense, it is the players' fault, etc etc" [filtered]. Get a clue.

Oh, I forgot to add: I'm not lagging at all in other games. Or anywhere else. Obviously. Happy?

@Spacecats what if the large pings or even sometimes 0 ping and massive desync before disconnecting is because about 1/4 of the players on the server at each time experience desync related to your team finding a authentication problem, Im not a pro in the profession but if the server sent a packet to check if the client was authentic but there was a issue in sending or receiving that packet, wouldnt the server then retry? then retry? etc then multiply that by 1/4 of the server population. My disconnects can range from just plain disconnecting from the server, or the game closing completely and i get a error saying ticket not found? or the whole game closing and a error about experiencing a problem. but before each and everyone of these crashes my ping goes up from my normal 260 to 30000+.. then goes to 0, i watch other people go about the game but i remain unable to type or do skills. sometimes i rubberband about a bit, then the disconnect happens. I have looked into all causes because i originally thought it was my end that was the problem. but my end is clean OTHER then i am Australian and i normally have a higher ping then NA players, but i didnt have a issue LIKE this until the weekend of the Fraywind event.\

Also on a side note which could be related IF other players have experienced this as well, i tried buying emp yesterday, when trying to connect it gave me the COWS error "LOL" to which refreshing and resending the information fixed, but then ingame inside the Tera Store when trying to buy a item it gave me a error saying the Item Couldnt be found and it took SEVERAL attempts at being able to buy something.
