  • I have experience several game crash without crash code. I happens during afk, dancing, trying to interacting with NPC.
Last night I've ran IM DFNM and we have fun until the 2nd Mr Crusty Crab boss. It was fun dying on the carpets mechanics.
    gg game.
This problem is not from my end because everyone in the raid is DC'ing and crashing.
  • "Being silent is better than telling you guys something that isn't true."

No, it is NOT! Being silent is simply to confirm the complete lack of communication skills EME Community Team has. It has been longer than you as CM, and it just gets worse.
You can show you're aware of the problems without making something up. All we've been asking all this time is more communication, not pre-made answers about everything we say here.

And I'll just ignore the absurd of you sugesting all this lag chaos is OUR problem, because I really can't quite understand how any serious company could have the nerve of saying that, instead of owning the responsability.

People all over the world are complaining about the same thing, and I seriously doubt the world have ISP problems, instead of EME.

    Disappointed, but not surprised.

  • @Spacecats just do your best to keep us updated on the situation from your end. Also probably not a good idea to do any sort of event PVE/PVP related now as the lag/disconnect problem persists, it'll be a disaster if the issue is still there without a fix.
  • Another crash, ayeeee

Eh your expectations are way too unreasonable. if there's nothing to report, there's nothing. To be honest, you're really toxic and need to calm down

Yes!! Those kind of events would just make matters worse. I'd rather have stable servers than dealing with 2X drop lag instead!

A cause that our Platform team identified is related to the account authentication. TERA checks periodically to make sure the active account is legit. When it can't find a connection or there is some error, it can cause disconnections. They're getting to the root of this now and will continue to monitor once it's fixed.

One thing about this issue, however, is that while it can result in disconnects, it doesn't really cause extra latency. The high pings some of you are reporting still don't make sense as far as TERA is concerned. We'll continue investigating these as well but in many cases the cause is just a poor Internet connection on the player's part (check to see if you're lagging in other games) or latency somewhere en route to TERA servers from your Internet service provider.

Have you not been reading anything? Are you saying all these people from all over the world all have ISP problems? Don't you think we already checked our internet when we start to lag in Tera? Our net is fine everywhere, it's only in Tera we get massive ping spikes and then a disconnect.

As many people across multiple forum topics have stated, it's Zayo that's causing the issue.

And no, we can't all just change our ISP to avoid route through Zayo. You are going to lose out on massive amounts of players if you don't do something about Zayo. Perhaps maybe its time for you guys to change YOUR ISP instead.

Please don't quote my tracert in this argument, even if EME changed their ISP it is likely your connection to their servers would still be routed over Zayo. Zayo is a backbone provider, not an ISP.

no i dont experience SUCH HUGE latency in ALL other games i played only tera has it. and only tera has ZAYO in its route i checked. it was mentioned before in several threads. get rid of ZAYO if possible. if not, say it here pls.

Wrong, for example this is my tracert to SWTOR's servers, which are outside Washington D.C. not Chicago.

Whether you use Zayo or not has more to do with YOUR ISP than EME's ISP. It also has a lot to do with where you are and where you are going.

Edit: I should add that my gf plays SWTOR and has trouble with disconnects there way worse than I have trouble here. Do you all really think you should still blame EME?
  • Well, I don't know if they did anything to address the instability.
But i did do a few things and it seems to have addressed my issues.
Open - cmd and type the following lines
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

Not to mention, If your using something along the lines of

TCP Optimizer for better MS, I would suggest restoring your settings to defaults.
I had a backup of my original settings, so i just loaded that one up.

Then of course, the simple reboot of the PC!

It would appear to have done the trick, Since i am no longer disconnecting every 15-30mins
And i can actually play the game.

(Not saying this will work for everyone, But i thought i would share some information)

    Hope it helps someone out
  • - What State or Region are you located in?
    SE United States
    - What Internet Server Provider do you use?
    Comcast
    - When did you first notice the lag or disconnect problem?
    Approx 4-5 days ago
    - What area(s) in TERA did you experience the problem?
Battlegrounds (FWC/CS) and sometimes in communal areas (Velika/HW)
    - What were you doing in-game when you lagged or disconnected?
Fighting in FWC I had my client force close 3 times in one match. No errors, just no more client all of a sudden. I've also had massive lag spikes which shows my character able to move but I cannot use any buttons. I can see some other characters behaving as normal.
    - Did you notice others in your party experience the same lag? Other guild members?
In chat others have experienced the lag but I'm not sure if anybody has experienced the force close.
