so what your saying, that only large guilds with good gear have a chance at this, if that the case where does the smaller guild come in to play if ur intending pvp battle to claim the top guild dps on the bam. whats the soul purpose of this quest? what is it suppose to accomplish?
Things always favor large guilds.
I'm saying that BHS intended Rally quests to be fought for.
"NEW ADDITION: Rally quests work differently than the other types. The member who accepts the quest receives a scroll with which they can summon the indicated world boss at a specific location. (Only this summoned version counts for quest completion). Notifications are then sent to all other guilds, who may choose to oppose the guild’s efforts to defeat the boss."

Ahh, with how little time was left it seemed more like a troll effort. If that's the case however, then it's all good, though I of course missed it again thanks to that huge delay. :c
That was kind of the point of the delay.
The guild that accepted it purposely waited the timer out in hopes that the initial rush of people would leave, allowing their guild a better chance at getting the high tier rewards.
It's not abuse, it's not "trolling". It's a tactic.
I would guess this is why they are limiting the size of guilds to 100 actual people--so there will be more competing top guilds instead of 2 or 3 megaguilds. I am thinking that the ability to try for a Rally quest is something to push small guilds to grow their numbers and reach out to other players, instead of just being themselves.
A small guild could get lucky and get the last hit, raising the item level of at least one member considerably.
As a small guild, we don't have a prayer of completing this quest, but if we did take it we could summon and let others help--we would announce on global in fact. We would cede the last hit to others doing the work--but we would still get points for completion, even if we don't kill the BAM. It just has to die, doesn't say by whom.
My husband, reading over my shoulder, has also pointed out that this gives the PVPers something to do that will distract them from those who just want to gather in peace.
This setup actually seems pretty well thought out, actually.
It has been confirmed though I don't know how legal it is in terms of ToS and in-game rules.
-Rally quests (this needs its own section)
Before i get into the suggestions lets talk about this one. This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue and were only barely past 1 week of this patch.. I cant say if EME is looking into this currently or not, But they should be, We all understand rally quests are meant to be competitive for the loot but the fact that a handful of guilds are abusing this system to get themselves far ahead while others are left in the dust makes it very undesirable to everyone who's not part of that handful of guilds. Even with the epic loot drops i predict that eventually no one will even show up to these rally spots because people are trolls about it and refuse to spawn until they are certain their group will get the loot, and if they're not certain then they just let the quest fail, which means there's really no actual competition factor to it, the way its meant to be, just the elitist community doing what they do best- keeping the vast majority of players from enjoying certain contents, and lets face it why would people even want to participate in something if they're 100% sure they will get nothing out of it? SO heres my suggestions:
-Suggestion 1 i think is the more simple route and would certainly fix the issues we currently see with rally quests: very simply- MAKE THE BAM SPAWN ON ITS OWN! Implement it so that the bam will spawn on its own, lets say 1hr after the quest is accepted, which gives people ample time to see that its coming and send out whatever form of communication they use to assemble their army. By simply making the BAM spawn on its own you eliminate all the player trolling and make it a true competition the way its meant to be! (honestly how did EME/BHS not think of this themselves??)
-Suggestion 2 would actually leave rally quests the way they are but would to add a weekly "bonus" quest that, in my head atleast, would function exactly the same as a rally quest but with the added benefit that every guild that participates gets the quest credit!
The major flaw (imo at least) with the rally quest isnt even that people are using it to get easy imp gear but that they're using it to get 3-4 guild levels ahead of everyone else, which wouldn't be a big deal if the quest was truly "up for grabs", but since the way we are currently see things happen is people using bots to grab the quest the second it comes up then troll entire servers with the BAM spawn (or rather the lack of), it makes it pretty outrageously unfair, a weekly quest that every participating guild got credit for would at least help to "even the playing field" so to speak..
ive taken several breaks from the game over the years but iirc ever since VM4 (i think) they've always done some event or some content that drops VM gears, they usually do this just before the next VM patch is coming so it helps to get everyone on par for the new content, as i said above i dont even see the "easy imp" as the problem here, the problem is they made a system that was designed to be competitive and up for grabs, and instead its being grabbed by the same people everyday and following the same pattern of "lets just wait till everyone leaves/our friends show up/not spawn the boss" which is not the way this content was meant to be played.
The way it works is aweful. In Celestial Hills only Limited Edition gets it. No chance for others to take it.
There should be an announcement that is up, or a CD once your guild takes it, you wont be able to take it again until some other guild had their chance.
Probably because it's the end of the VM7 patch, where it's become massively easier to make the patch's VM, as always.
Actually, that sounds like a great idea...
