From my personal testing conflate gloves are overrated. VM gloves with 3% increase damage is about the same as 6% pvp damage.

This is indicated in original post, and as I mentioned in a comment that there might be a hidden defense option (~4%) on full VM set, cuz conflate gloves are supposed to take only 3% less more dmg than VM7+15 gloves, but they take ~7% more dmg than VM7 gloves so that those 4% comes from hidden bonus.

Did you account for uh... set bonuses???

That is why I added 7 more endurance when I was testing in order to compensate the loss of set bonus for conflate gloves.

When wearing conflate gloves, the tester lost 7 endurance from set bonus and took ~7% more dmg than full VM7. When we added 7 more endurance for VM7+conflate gloves (so total def will be almost same), it still tooke 3% more dmg than full VM7. So..where does that 4% difference come from?

Tell me what you compared VM7 +15 and Conflate with.

    You're comparing VM7 Full set to VM7 Weapon/Chest/Belt/Boots + Conflate Gloves right?

So you would lose the set bonus Endurance as expected. What are you using to add 7 Endurance? Which skill are you using to test?

I tested with roundhouse kick (brawler) and fireblast (sorc).

The reason that I added 7 endurance is just to find the hidden defense bonus on full set of vm7

    Let say

Full VM7(+15) vs VM7(+15, weap, chest, gloves, belt) + conflate gloves

VM7 has ~7% more defense (took 7% less dmg from FB and RK)

like you, I and others said, using conflate gloves cuases loss of 7 endurance from set bonus. Thta is why I added 7 endurance for conflate gloves set.

Basically, Conflate gloves + VM7 + 7 endurance has SAME DEFENSE MODIFERS as full VM7. However, Full VM7 still takes 4% less dmg than VM7+conflate gloves.

I also confirmed this 4% hidden bonus with Tooi.

    - add -

    Full Vm7 = 40288 Def modifier (total endurance = 137)

VM7 x4 + conflate gloves = 38599 (total endurance = 130) : it has less def modifier due to loss of set bonus(end) and takes 7% more dmg

VM7 x4 + conflate gloves + 7 endurance = 40100 (total endurance = 137) : it has 188 less defense modifer because endurance works better on higher defense modifer. However, its difference is just 0.47%. But it takes still 4% more dmg. They are supposed to take almost same dmg.

Conflate as a whole set is getting buffed, while only the vm7 wep is being buffed. Also conflate receives a much larger buff. Anyone still questioning what will be best should probably reread toi's post on the first page of this thread.

I was just saying for current gears, but most people are worrying about future. I understood.

Conflate amors (but not Boots PLZ) will be buff and become better than VM7 in DEFENSE of course(while ppl use conflate gloves for more DPS). However, the weapon is gonna be still questionable.

    See,

Currently, conflate weapon does 14.13% less frontal / 6.57% less behind dmg than VM7 weap. As you said, both conflate and VM7 weapon will get buffed, but conflate will get more buff. However, Like I mentioned on another comments, conflate weapon will get buff by 7% on its base attack modifier. I did not check how much VM7 weap got buffed in ktera, but it is already very obvious.

7% buff conflate vs X % buffed VM7 weap. Too simple.
  • I believe the wep was around 10%? Vm7 and vm8 were 5% though. But if I remember the numbers right, conflate was still not the best for weapon, vm8 was.

Also idioticgenius just posted ktera patch notes where it said vm8.5 got an increase in healing and damage absorbtion. Super vague phrasing, would like to know if that means base defense or block damage or what.

    Conclusion:

    Conflate - Armor and Glove
VM8.5 - Weapon, Boot and Belt

    GG!
