Sorcerer is the Worst PVE Class Ever
Ok, I have played almost all of the classes to 65 save a few (Berserker & Slayer) and I must say that the Sorcerer sucks beyond measure. This class is the least mobile of anything I have played and yet it has the worst armor, it also sucks badly for DPS below 65. I have a 65 but on my 30th, she does less with her ranged attack than the ninja does with her ranged attacks. This means that the Ninja is a better class in ALL respects, including ranged. This POS class is absolutely useless and it should be removed from the game and people should be refunded for their lost time spent leveling this useless piece of garbage. I know this class is supposed to be upgraded soon (?) but unless it's completely redone it is a waste of time.
I have never seen anything in my gaming history that has been so badly out of balance and I have played EverQuest, WoW and GW2.

Least mobile? You must be joking me right?
Backstep: Quickly back up out of harm’s way.
Teleport Jaunt: Teleport a short distance in the direction the camera faces.
Glacial Retreat: Freeze the ground before you as you leap backward,
Worst armor? It's called learning to i-frame attacks. And it's not like you don't have. I dunno
Warp Barrier? Cancel incoming damage for a few seconds
Worst Damage? Now Granted, Their Damage is not up to par with some of the newer exotic classes.
But their damage is still decent. And their Rotation is relatively pretty straight forward.
And yes, They are being re-worked "Soon"
All i can say is. Maybe you were not meant to play a sorcerer?
Good luck in finding a class better suited for you.
Delete this thread plz
1). Sorcerer does not fit your play style.
2). You are playing Sorcerer like how you play a brawler/tanky class.
3). You're a lousy player. gitgud or go cry somewhere else.

Hope you enjoy!
Now i go to bed
good but, it can be much better.
As a main sorc,i agree 200% but its still good i guess
While I haven't played every class and can't say if it's the worst, it definitely feels like one of them. As much as I want to like the class, (I want to be a magic user, like some of the robes, and the disc is a neat looking weapon) it feels utterly obsolete.
- Too complicated for too little payoff. It feels like you have to input 2 to 3 times the mental effort and time of other classes for the same result. People seem to act like a class being "hard to play" is somehow a good thing. Maybe if there's a great payoff when you do, but that's not here at all for this class.
- Nearly every skill roots you in place, and some of them take so long to cast that they're either very situational or utterly useless to try, especially if you have to solo dungeons while leveling up. I ended up cutting out nearly half of the skills I got while leveling up because they were either too slow to use in most situations, or just junk. I mainly relied on Ice Needle, Magma Bomb, Void Pulse, and later Hailstorm for most damage since they cast fairly quickly. For defense, I tried using Backstep or Teleport Jaunt when the situation called for it, or Glacial Retreat when I felt I just needed to slow them down. However, depending on what the enemy decides to do, this can end up not being enough. On top of that, Sorcerers can get knocked down just by being tapped sometimes by most enemies, and step damage from BAMs is a nightmare if they just decide they want to walk all over you (which they can, since Bluehole decided enemies can always run faster than you can in combat.)
- Poor defense and survivability. I kinda typed about it up there, but on top of not being really fluid or mobile while attacking, your options for trying to mitigate attacks while your i-frames are recharging....are not good. Mana Barrier is pretty much a Warding Scroll with a few extra potential benefits but without the knockdown resist and a longer recharge. Your i-frames can't be glyphed to recharge faster (except for maybe Warp Barrier, which you don't get until 63, when it would've been so much useful long before that), and if enemies decide to either do something dickish like spamming ranged homing attacks or BAMs trying to constantly walk on you to knock you over, you i-frames only prevent that for a few seconds. Finally, there are no HP recovery glyphs/abilities for any of your skills, which most (if not all) other non-healer classes have to an extent, so for the damage you can't avoid, you have to bring potions and bandages and hope you can last out their cooldowns as well.
- Enemies can sometimes resist your slow effects from Ice Needle and Glacial Retreat, still running up super fast to smack you anyways. A certain boss in Saravash's Ascent(Belsamael) is painful to try soloing because of this and it's large hitboxes. The only guaranteed slow you get is on Painblast if glyphed, and the skill roots you a second longer and isn't even that good otherwise...
Phew. Okay, TLDR version :
Too complicated to play, too many junk skills, not mobile enough when fighting, some of your better skills not available until high levels, and poor defensive abilites along with lack of HP recovery glyphs/abilities makes for a fragile class. I'm hoping against hope that the sorcerer revamp will fix these issues and make them at least worth trying again...whenever they decide to get that revamp here.
Sorry about the rambling.
They have 3 i-frames on separate cooldowns, and one of them is arguably the best i-frame in the game. At least until it's changed.
Also, no class should be relying on HP recovery glyphs for anything, so I can only assume you hardly played this at 65, if you did at all. You can't base your opinion of a class on sub-65 gameplay - class balance is based on the level cap, and what you have at 65. But just for reference, if your mention of KDs were from the 60-65 grind, I welcome you to try pre-buff priest when its damage was still abysmal - that was unbearable. Sorc was not, and Backstep/Jaunt shared a CD back then.
Is their DPS awesome? Not really, but I've played with some pretty amazing sorcs, and it's impressive what they can do even as the "worst" DPS. It's true that if you make one mistake, you're hugging the floor, but a good sorc has no issues surviving while still dishing out worthwhile damage. They'll be even better after the rework when their damage skyrockets.
Was kind of tired when i made the video.
Was @ 6am and i was up 19hrs after all.
Just got done running 7 other classes thru the daily.
Again, I was just having a bit of fun!
I was tired and I looked away from screen a few times to see what my week old puppies were whining about.
But your right, few mistakes were made which costed me DPS.
Not the best video, I'll admit. But it's not every day you get a group with 3 other sorc's after a post was like this was made!
Doesn't even feel like i got any sleep as I'm typing this. and i gotta be to work in 2hrs.
Going to be a fun day at the office! :awesome:
