Gear is a factor, Latency / MS is a factor, Player knowledge is a factor. And of course. The Class its-self
But if If the boss dies, it dies. Just worry about not dying yourself, And improving on your skill rotations.
You can't personally do anything about the DPS output of some classes because their out-dated some.
Reason they get reworked every once and awhile. To hopefully balance things out with the rest.
Just enjoy the game for what it is. A game
And pick a class you like playing.
Had a 1.9m parse along with a video that was on "that site" before the owner closed it down/it expired. Didn't transfer over to second one. It was beaten by a 2m+ one days before DS3 was removed however. The two month period between the two logs was dead as there are legit only 2-3 NA Sorcs that could play the class consistently at that level. It's understandable because why put in the effort to 2m+ Slaying when a Ninja can hit that mark with half the effort out of Slaying.
Yeah I know Sorcs aren't unplayable bad, but when a Lancer hits 1.7-8 while a Sorc can hit 1.9m, there are just flat out better DPS classes to play if you don't love the playstyle of Sorc. If you enjoy playing Sorc of course you should still play it, but everyone saying that Sorc is super amazing if you put in the effort is just wrong.
Many "pro players" do use meters though for both self improvement and to see what they can do. And there's not exactly a reason to not upload unless you forgot to/refuse to check a box since it's automatic.
Not many are fixed on just meters. Of course there's a lot of things to consider.
But yes you should just play what you want. I just wanted to clarify that Sorcs aren't suddenly super amazing and top tier when played at the highest level and they are very likely the "worst pve class" at the moment, but for different reasons than listed in the OP.
Sorc buffs are coming soon, so we'll have our moment one day.

I believe what that person meant was that not every pro players cares about uploading to a dps meter website so you can't use those numbers as finalized evidence on what every class can do.
Considering that it's an automatic process I don't see why most of them won't do it unless they forgot to. Most good players like to show off and like to have a record of their performance so they can see improvement over time.
Their DPS isn't extremely high compared to every other class, assuming equal gear and mastery of the class. That's just fact.
Wow... Uhh, I thought I said damage sucks pre-65 in my original post. I have no problem on my 65 doing huge damage and yeah the Sorcerer has a number of outs but almost all of their attacks are long and they have to stop moving to do them.
Sure you may be the best player ever and feel that you alone are the only one with the right to an opinion but then why are Sorcerers being reworked. I seriously doubt I'm alone in my thinking here.
