That is not correct. You are basically giving them a free pass to do whatever they want and blame BHS. The thing is EME is a company of BHS.

None of what I'm saying is trying to give them a free pass -- in fact, I said that I found the lack of service appalling despite not being abnormal for the industry. But even if you see them as two separate divisions as part of a larger whole "Bluehole, Inc." the North American live services division (EME) is not in a position to tell the software development division (BHS) what to do. EME's job, such as it is, is to publish whatever BHS makes. I'm sure they have discussions with them all the time about what the market needs, but BHS has shown pretty clearly that they're willing to make decisions that run counter to what EME knows the local market wants (ref: dragons, remodeling, etc.). So if you are trying to lay lame, sure, it all falls back to the parent company/investors who own the whole thing, and EME is their local face in this market. But, practically speaking, it's pretty immaterial given the walls they set up between divisions/business units.

    Jenieve wrote: »
Even if they were separate - again to be clear they are not - the distribute is responsible to their region. They would have to pay for changes to a patch or customization, but it is still relevant. The reason why they do NOT do this is only one, money and actually sheer laziness.

For what it's worth, none of the regions "buy patches." They all have a rev share agreement with BHS. BHS centrally develops and manages all the builds for all regions worldwide, and the publishers provide local marketing, sales, and IT services (and so on). So the arrangement EME has with BHS is really not so different than other publishers, except for the fact that they share the same core investors. Neither BHS nor EME have the size of teams necessary to really give each market what it deserves in terms of attention and focus, which is a big part of the problem here.

    Jenieve wrote: »
They share the same weight of responsibility at the core, but EME is who is supposed to represent NA, has therefore, more responsibility falls on them.

Again, my point was not to absolve anyone of blame or responsibility. No matter what BHS does or does not do, EME is the liaison to the customer and thus responsible for any failure. But again, taking the blame is a different issue from solving the problem.
  • how was someone like this even chosen for player council lmao

Why is Bluehole devoting extra effort of making the dragon mount available in game when players can obtain it from other players?

Because we believe it's the right thing to do, and we said we would.

Day by day EME always tries to do right by us while still staying a business. Please keep that in mind guys.

all he did was damage control with some fancy pr statements, that does not mean they mean anything they say etc, lol.

You're kidding me right? You know have you even once considered that they might be on our sides. Na, to easy to blame them.

i look at track record and what have they ever tried to do right? host events that are ridiculously rewarding for people who dont even play the game, constantly mess up patches and basically make their entire q and a department irrelevant, multiple broken promises in the past, up to now treeshark NEVER made good on his promise to make a real increase awakening event happen, but everyone forgot about that right? trust me i have worked in this industry and i have seen the difference between alot of publishers, i can tell you there are publishers out there or developers that make sure every single line of text and new mechanic is working by having q and a testers level up characters of each class and gender to make sure everything is ok and some are companies smaller than bhs/enmasse, what do we get here? it just seems ever since you lot got made on the player council everything is pro eme to you all. again all it was was good pr and thats it. as a side note the staff of the company doesnt even have proper knowledge on the game aka they dont know much and in some cases nothing at all about the game, how can they be on our side or be trying to help players when you dont even have interest in the said product?

name those mmo publishers and developers that do so well that are smaller than EME/BHS. go ahead. trust you? don't think so. people BS all the time trying to bolster their points. when someone asks for proof? never found.

    so prove it.

webzen is smaller than bhs/nexon and they test every single class leveling from 1 to cap and every single sub class for c9, i know i used to do the fighter testing for them as a vl, maiet was a smaller dev company and the only issue raiderz had while it was open was the publisher not wanting to fix server stability as they were just milking the game. also what do you got to say now about the failed patch and lies that they will be monitoring and it wont take days to get a response? who is going to refund our wasted time waiting for this event and again they learned nothing and left the office with no one there incase something like this happened again? what excuse for this gross negligence and lying are you guys gonna make up this time?

webzen is much larger, and formerly had their games published by gpotato...i know, i played a couple of them. along with acquisitions and mergers of other firms...

    BHS 51-200 employees
    webzen 501 - 1000 employees

that's quite a difference, and note, publishers don't do a [filtered] thing to help develop. and...wouldn't call their games glitch free...not even up to the standards of tera. and having several that failed...some with expansions that had bugs that would completely crash the servers that had been played on a test server and they KNEW about it...but sent it live anyway.

webzen did not have that kind of staff then i can guarantee you that and now they lost alot to pearl abyss.

your 'guarantee' is meaningless. you can pull up any companies fairly current employees through searches. ESPECIALLY a public company like webzen. and they have acquired other companies. also public knowledge.

same way nexon is larger and now basically co dev of tera with bhs, so yea nexon + bhs > webzen my point still stands.
  • I never get posts like these. I've always felt that people should always be able to vent their discontent as long as it's kept in line. Consumer pressure in my eyes is always healthy - at the very least, it lets the target company know what we want.

Besides, EME shouldn't need their players to white knight for them - it should be natural for a company like them to have the fortitude to deal with things like this. Ultimately it's their decision on far they want to implement the feedback received, and those that are able to come out of it with improvements to the product are worthy of respect.

Basically, if you don't agree with the points presented, you can try and refute them with the respective party, or just ignore them. But trying to defend EME and shielding them from supposed "crying" is laughable. Would it be wrong if I said that I felt that their current mangaging of content (with regards to stuff like mongos, double drops at bad times, SSHM nerf within a month, drops) wasn't satisfactory? Some people spend a considerable amount of investment (time, money etc.) on this, pretty sure they are allowed to have a say.
  • We're gona release farmable dragons so that Tera doesn't literally become P2W!

The whole patch is a joke. They remove the only relevant content. They promise to add stuff and big surprise they don't. The actual new content, which is run on a single day a week, doesn't work. Far-be-it for us to expect EME to represent their company and work on a weekend for first release SMH. They kill the economy with event after event after event, which works out for some but is disastrous to others. Guild quests are poorly balanced, and rally quest is completely broken. They said they were going to fix Rally quest so it would be more available to more players -- Released new change for 5 am on a weekday in north America.

remember that its only f2p korean mmo nothing more. thats all

The game at one time was monthly-sub and I know a bunch of people including myself who played then.

It really is sad to see how low EME has come.
They only care about milking this game for all the money its worth yet put nothing into the actual game to better it.

EME you have let your community down which is honestly just sad.

I was really disappointed now I am just kinda bummed out that I have been such a loyal player along many who you really just do not take seriously.
