TERA NEEDS MORE PVP!

  • They used to have an equalized Fraywind a long time ago. My opinion is they need an equalized version of both CS and Fraywind. The pubstomping would still be a thing because a coordinated team still will wreck face but you won't have people in full +15 able to change the outcome by basically being able to almost single handedly destroy a lowbie raid. That's just my two cents though. What I'd like to see personally though is more open world pvp and less reliance on battlegrounds. Make world bosses more meaningful, increase their health by about 10 times or such so they take a while to kill and have people fight over them. That's just my 2 cents though.
  • @Derpybowl hence for people like you cs queues take a long time now... under a new system if you want to do cs with your gear queue you queue for a geared match where all are geared with their own crafted gear.

and those that are say just getting to 65, instead of worrying about being kicked can queue to an equalizer geared cs. that way no geared folks can one shot them so to speak and they can still play and learn and have fun.

otherwise you get what you have now in fraywind canyon and cs. and like in other games, pvp can die out if new blood isnt added to it a lot of the times.
  • Derpybowl, civil discussion is not using ad hominems and calling people ignorant and stupid. It makes you very immature and in all honesty, makes your argument weaker than what it should be. That being said, I disagree with your assessment of equalized arenas because when equalized fraywind existed back during the conjunct and fraywind days, most people chose it. You could still use your pvp for farming stuff out in the open world.

In all honesty, I prefer open world pvp as opposed to battlegrounds anyways. It's more random and just fun. Fraywind and corsairs gets stale. Every match becomes pretty much the same after a while as people do the same strategies. Structured pvp has never really been my forte. It used to be, to get pvp gear, you had to go into the battlegrounds and there was no equalized gear. To get your fraywind / conjunct you had to literally endure a beating by the people that already had them. Matches were largely stacked by the team that had the most red / blue weapons (+9 and +12) and the others had pve gear that didn't do squat and often times had rolls vs monsters. That was what lead them to introduce the equalized gear in the first place and eventually a fully equalized fraywind.

I'm not saying by no means that it should replace the current one, but at least it should be an option for those wishing to actually have skilled matches rather than a platoon of people over voip with full +15 carrying them through. Coordination and teamwork become more prevalent in those scenarios rather than gear, but that's just my point of view.

The main problem is that, as of now, there is no point to pvp gear outside of civil unrest and open world pvp. Battleground are the only place that they're usable, so I can see why you'd be opposed to wanting an equalized one, it makes sense.

Anyways, if your current attitude persists, I'm just going to agree to disagree and simply not bother replying to you. If you want to share your point of view, I politely ask you discuss without the name calling. There truly is no reason for it. Have a nice day.
  • I have no idea where you get the idea people chose EQ fraywind over non-Eq in those days. But that is simply not true.
It didn't even give half the reward regular fwc did so even if people would prefer the eq version they still wouldn't have queued for it.
The only time it popped was when it was brand new ans people were trying it out

Honestly, the rewards probably distort every discussion about what the community prefers for battlegrounds. Historically, it's always been a) the ones that queue the fastest, and b) the ones with the best effort/reward ratio. In order to truly gauge preferences, even in a test, you'd probably have to at least balance the rewards so that isn't a factor (so it's balanced around time/effort of the battleground, not settings like EQ/non-EQ). Unfortunately, the way BHS programmed all this makes that a pain, so it'd be tricky.
  • Basically yeah.
I can only think of 1 way to make all bg's we have currently completely active without BHS being involved, but I hate that idea so much that I don't even want to mention it even though I quit the game. Simply because it's not something I would personally enjoy if I ever do come back
  • Which will flood said bg with people that will quit as soon as they even think they might lose. Like even worse than they do already
  • You know for people working or students full time, this weekly event is really nice for us. I understand that people with more time would like more things to do in the game, but it's a lot easier to coordinate a large group of people to show up for sometime once a week than once a day. This also serves the purpose of not wearing down content that quickly.

This issue plagued most Kuma Royale runs I been in while leveling up some alts too. If its right after daily reset, you go and some DPS enemy boss like you should, while a lot of others defend friendly side boss. :( Then the instance they loose one round, and see the next round starting off badly, its a serious of continuous Drop raid group :( So far in a single run I've only had at most 3 drop like that, but I can imagine FWC and CS making it be a lot more people choosing to drop instead of complete the run even for loser credit.

@cvms3 Agreed, once a week and know at least a week in advance is good :) You can plan it easier than just like out of the blue Argon Event happened a few weeks back :( I would say make it be like a VQ quest of old... Namely the DF NM was the only dungeon that gave 120 Shadecore Tokens everyday. Make it so that you do the same BG (FWC, CS, Gridion (however its spelled, not in game right now)) and you get that same VQ refreshed every day for that whole week. Then next week it cycles to some other BG... and repeats it the whole week of that week... then a new BG and repeat until you start back over, then repeat some more. This would make every BG to be cover throughout a 4 week month.
  • Or you know, instead of making bigger daily rewards, remove daily rewards and make completion bonuses for matches. So people will stick around till the end.
Just need a fix for the afkers then.

hes actually right tho and in which mmorpg you know EQ gear to be a thing?

thank you can prob only list 1 or 2.

When EQ FWC was released in Tera no1 q for it.
Back when FWC was ded it was because EME stupidly gave CS better rewards.
    Now its Kuma

I said it recently, 2 years ago, and now...it's all about the rewards.

No one is honestly doing FWC or CS for fun. They are doing it for the credits to purchase PVE gear, make gold, or miscellaneous.
Lets be real now most who play Tera do not have a Titan Nividia card or i7 cpu. At best in FWC ur fps 10-20 and in CS for most ppl its 20-30 fps. Complete [filtered] poorly optimized game and if you think this gameplay acceptable dead wrong.

    .
    .
    .
    .

    Also you serious?

GVG was killed since it was easy to abuse and do I need to mention server lag desync?
There is a reason game moved towards being instance unless you want to desync and every boss.
Case in point Mongos, Nexus, Argons- game not optimized for mass scale PVP or PVE or OW

I'm a noob but you clearly don't know what the [filtered] you are talking about with regards to pvp.
Lets get a real pvper to adress these concerns cuz I can't honestly believe you are mentioning open world pvp and EQ BG as solutions.
  • Someone way off tangent, that part of the discussion, been days ago...

    @PlagueFWC
You mean remove VQs for BGs? Just moving it to only say the reward box at the end of the match like thing?

I'm surprised too, they don't go back to doing something like the IMS PVE queued dungeons and just add more rewards on top of the already existing ones. Like for instance, keep VQs like they are, you get a 120 <insert token name here> token quest for a BG in VQs, but upon queuing and completing it, win or lose, you get an extra reward that is delivered in the mail?

Okays, nevermind, that likely be a bad idea... I just thought of people abusing that too by trying to afk at the spawn point to purposefully lose :(
  • @KattyKira more like instead of getting 1 win make it "finish 3 full matches". Or at least that's what I think would work best. As for spawnafkers. BHS really needs to just implement a "if you're in spawn for longer than x time you get autokicked"
  • @derpybowl
It also means that most likely every other bg besides the one with the quest will be dead that day.

-Tera needs multiple queue on BGs like we have on DGs.
    -Delete kumas
-Better incentive to CS, maybe something to farm

    But mainly, multiple queues!!
Right now choose ur BGs is like gambling with your time.
