so dragons with the new dungeons only ...

And what you mean with dedicated players`?

Those who play all the time. Players who are looking forward to earning the dragons through in-game means.

Also, they're not tied to any new dungeons or content updates.

This worries me. My daughter has been super excited since dragons were announced. We have a number of 65s but we are not in a large guild doing hard content. If this is what it will take then we will not be getting dragon in the foreseeable future. This will be beyond disappointing to my daughter who has been prepping for BAM hunting since the original announcement.

I think what he means are people who are willing to camp Island of Dawn and kill the bams there. I could be wrong but I feel like that is the case.

be careful with speculation..so I was told about the very same thing and was warned in a nice way by spacecats. just trying to be helpful so you wont get in trouble. we wont know until they officially tell us, so until then we have to be very careful about what we say on the subject.

Which is why I said I think and that I could be wrong.
  • Yeah, I agree. No way to tell what the final decision will be. I hope it will be something my daughter can do even if it takes a while.
  • I've never seen more cry babies in a game before yes there problems but nothing man makes can be perfect have some understanding and stop demanding so much the game is free to play.

I bet difficulty of obtaining ingame dragon is akin to Heroine Hero.

I understand where you are coming from, and in most cases you are correct. but with this last major patch where things were promised and promoted for weeks, and fell through for whatever reason, you can imagine that many will be upset. for some, tera is their escape from the life they didn't choose and coming into a world where they feel like they can control it and obtain things. also you have to remember that this isn't the only problems that has been in tera, and things keep compiling on each other until people hav had enough and cannot remain silent on the matter. but yes, most of the time you are right, but for now I feel that people are justified to be upset. hopefully it will get resolved soon and everyone will be happy again. and I hope the grind or means to obtain the free dragons will be easy and doesn't take a year or 5 people to run something with to get it.

...Some people are as dedicated they can be with multiple jobs and college. I've been playing Tera for 5 years, but honestly that doesn't matter. It's just going to cause people to argue "who's been here the longest". It's not a competition. If the majority of players enjoy your game (or did at one point), we all deserve a fair shot at obtaining a dragon (not just level 65, or rng)...

I agree! People are reading into what I said multiple ways. I think things will be more clear once we're able to release details on how to get the dragons. I appreciate how patient you guys are being during the wait.

Well, Dear @Spacecats we can hold the charged Thunder Strike for not so long, so you gotta be quicker :chuffed:

    Hi Everyone,

I’d like to follow up on iron and crimson dragons, and having them drop in game. As we approached the Guilded Age update and the release of dragon mounts, we had a plan in mind which we were ready to implement. However, after further investigation and research, that plan wasn’t good enough and we had to go back to the drawing board. The dragons are quite possibly the best items produced so far for TERA, and we want to remain respectful to both you and to Bluehole in the way that they’re distributed.

We’ve had very long and intense conversations with Bluehole on the best way to go about this, and we’re almost at a resolution. It’s these discussions which are contributing to a longer delay than we’d initially hoped. At the moment, we’re aiming to have a final plan in place for in-game drops starting in October. While I would love it to be early October, realistically it will most likely be later October. At that point we’ll also be releasing iron and crimson dragons in the TERA store, but not until they are earnable through in-game means. As many of you know the diamond and ghost dragon mounts were never intended to be available through in-game means, which is why we felt it made sense to add them to the store with the Guilded Age launch. Iron and Crimson dragons, on the other hand, were set aside as a way for dedicated players to earn an awesome piece of TERA history, and that’s still our goal as our conversation with Bluehole continues.

I’ll follow up with another announcement in October when a plan has been agreed upon. In the meantime, I know a lot of you are anxious for the release of these mounts, and I appreciate everyone’s patience in all of this as we work things out.

    Thanks,
    Spacecats

    Greetings!

My greatest concern about having the tokens drop from open world BAMs is that the large guilds will once again take over entire areas of IoD just as they did for the original version of the "That ain't Right" and the "Masters of the meadow" Kuma vanguard dailies around Highwatch. I have seen such declarations made by people in these forums already. My expectation is this is going to incite the bullying and harassment that happened with TaR and make it nearly if not totally impossible for people to complete the IoD Vanguard dailies.... and , has no one remembered the red story quest to gear up with the Dreadnaught equipment and accessories that also occurs on IoD?

I know its late in the process to propose an option for this... would it not make more sense to have had a series of solo quests each of which take place in a solo instance of the dungeons near every town in the game? And for the towns that have no dungeons (ie Lumbertown, Bleakrock and Frontera... etc) you have the sky castles over them... those are in essence instances... not hard to have a quest happen in them like the Lightkeepers thing in Castanica. As for the quest series... that's already in the game lore... explore the empire of dragons that if my memory serves correctly predates the empire of the giants. And for the proof... go to Elanea and look at the hills around the town.. you'll see the skeleton of I believe one dragon in the rock.

This mount has gone from a greatly anticipated event into an event that I am dreading. As a long time player that you have said you are looking to reward for playing (joined up just after F2P launch some five-ish years ago) ... TaR and the meadow quests were the worst instigators of terrible social behavior I saw on any of the servers I play on from any of the patches that have been put out since I started. Truth be told.. I took a break for Tera until those two quests were altered or removed.... I'm now having those same reserved feelings in regards to this launch.

I do hope that you prove me a pessimist about how this system is implemented and how the final launch is handled.

" dedicated players " I've been playing just about nonstop everyday for 3 years. I hope I get a dragon

I hope you do too. You're exactly the kind of player we want to make sure has an excellent shot at one.

I wonder if I as a f2p player for the last almost five years with three accounts and 17 of my 23 characters at level 65 and having earned the black panther.. I wonder.. am I being a solo player going to have the same opportunity to earn one of these in-game dracoloth mounts as say one of the hard core players in one of the big guilds? ... I doubt it... I think I will keep on with my black cats... hardly anyone else bothers with them anymore.
