its not only warrior/zerker fault.. as a priest i can say that its different to heal warrior, zerker, brawler and lancer... they have different needs.. and probably 99% of the healers are used to heal only lancer and brawler..
and no, im not saying its healers fault lol, but it does help a lil bit....
aaaaaaaaaaaand another thing; just as you can find good zerker and warrior tanks, you can find RLY bad brawlers and lancers...
Healing a warrior tank is no different than healing a lancer tank. I've healed zerk tanks - most of which sucked, but not because they were hard to heal, because they couldn't hold aggro for crap (probably because they just rolled in with their usual gear and expected to not have to change anything up for tanking) - I've healed warrior tanks, lancers, brawlers. I've had everything but zerk tank in a static. They're not any different in terms of healing.
The only time it makes a difference is if your warrior tank is [filtered] and keeps dodging everywhere, which means dodging heals and lock-ons (and probably leading to their death when they run out of Resolve). But that's few and far between, and much less likely now since war tank is deader than ded. Used to happen some during TS/AI and earlier, but anyone who's actually attempting warrior tanking right now is likely very experienced on it and won't waste RE like that.
However, it was a joy to heal her as a tank because she would keep the bosses attention rather easily, all the while I'm having to compensate for dps classes that think they should either stand in bad circles or places (timescape and forsaken island runs that we did via IMS) or I get to keep up my debuffs as a mystic for 100% uptime and calling vengence thrall and wrath thrall any chance I get (usually in guild runs).
I've met bad zerkers tanking, they are a lot out there that are bad... I've met bad lancers and warriors too, and some of the bad lancers and warriors were in an old guild of mine and we taught them to be better. I have met really badbrawlers that that thought they could run dps builds and not block a single hit or even do perfect blocks. Those runs with bad brawlers make me want to just run with bad zerkers, at least then they usually block even when not needed...
Bad brawlers make me wonder what people do to level. When leveling my brawler, I made sure to test my timing and skills on bams that were 2 to 4 levels higher than me and to not rely heavily on potions but on my own skills to mitigate damage while doing damage. I don't run out of MP on my own even without the greater infusion charms, yet when I'm on mystic or in a party as a dps with other mystics or priests, Ifind bad brawlers screaming for the healers to give MP... it is sad but never do they actually get MP because the dps and them are taking such insane damage that in one run of DF NM, I as ninja, a slayer and sorc were all that stayed alive on the last boss when... it sucked but yet again another brawler that screamed for MP was the near cause of a failed run.
So to conclude, there good tanks out there that are zerkers, brawlers, lancers, and warrior tanks. However, they are more bad tanks out there than good tanks, which makes the game rather depressing and make you feel like anytime you do IMS and get one of these bad tank groups that you've been trolled by the player of that tank.
EDIT:
Met a good brawler other than myself, and even she stated that a good brawler won't loose aggro or run out of MP especially if they know their class well. But for me to check next time because some brawlers use what people say in guides as if their never two or more ways of doing something, and more than likely these brawlers don't either understand the guide, understand the class, or know the boss mechanics well enough to play the dungeon. And that they will almost always be the ones running out of MP and needing to be healed...
That confused me too but I'm not a good brawler. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that comment was weird.
Avg zerker/ war tanks are as good as brawler or lancer? Really?
Without threating crystal, War tank's ability of holding/ taking back agro is much weaker than other tanks.
Zerker tank doesn't have infuriate to enrage the boss, They don't have support skills as lancer. Their boss debuffing endurance is only 8% as Brawler. But, with same skill and gear, normally Brawlers do far more dps than Zerker tank.
I have never played with really good war and zerker tank in hardest dungeon in this season. I haven't seen any war/ zerker tank did more dps than my ninja neither.
AVG Zerker and War tank are sux atm. They need to get buff. I used to play War tank before. I really want the war tank to become as good as brawler or lancer.
And, I don't want to give any credit for high score with 2 healer team.
Yes, I should had been more clear sorry... The three IMs queues that I'm referring to were because our own guild's tank wasn't on, so we queued for a tank. 3 of 4 runs, somehow we get a brawler for FI NM.
The brawlers all on the first boss, just used Provoke, and blocked and held block. Then release from time to time, and did Provoke and Infuriate and hold block again. Well, one did do some hits, but they were like hit, hit, hit, block for 30 seconds to a minute or move around to avoid the circles.
Hope that clarifies what I meant, and how to notice when that will happen with a brawler in the future... Also thanks Yamazuki, I'll watch for that from lancers I queue with. Luckily the tanks in my guild don't run out of MP or block for days without doing any damage.
Good lancers or brawlers running low on mana is a normal thing; it shows that they're being aggressive and offensive during the combat. I feel a lot of the mp management will depend on the healer(s) in the run.
I noticed too in groups where the tank does a lot of damage, the tank often misses doing blocks. This means that's one more person that the healer has to watch after, and if they and the dps are taking too much damage every single milli-second... well... no time for MP regen skills, because you'll be spamming heals and trying to stack them up as much as possible... Been there done that, and so hated those groups.
I do agree that for high skill to pro level parties, lancer is hands down the top simply due to the party buffs it offers. In addition, lancer gets buffed more in the future while brawler gets nerfed. In the end, both are decent tanks at this time just pick the one you synergize with the most :^)
In most guilds I run with on mystic and priest as healer I don't encounter the mana issues and they literally still be attacking as much if not more than the DPS, one brawler even topped the DPS table according to what was posted in chat after the run. And she never once ran out of mana nor needed me force-feeding her it, nor heals.
To say that a tank that doesn't run out of MP is simply not doing damage, is not true in the slightest sense.
