Rally Quest questionable practices
Over the last (almost) two weeks on our server the same guild has managed to grab the Rally quest every single day that the it's been available - ever since the Rally quest starting popping immediately after daily reset. Each time the quest has been grabbed before it even appears on other people's guild list and I know many people are trying to grab the quest.
Allegations that the guild in question are using a bot to grab the quest are flying and I have to say that the same group of people (only 2 or 3 of the guild in question seem to be online at the time) can consistently grab the Rally quest for 10 days straight without anyone else getting it is a statistical improbability. I and others have issued support tickets regarding this but, perhaps rightly so, EME has a policy of not reporting back on such incidents. However the possible botting shows no sign of being stopped. So I've decided reluctantly to raise the issue here (and apologies if this has been raised before).
What worries me about this is the sheer impact this activity can have on the game. On my server the guild in question is now 10 levels higher than the next rival, they've ranked 1 nearly every day (the advantage they gain over controlling the summons gives them an edge on DPS) so they have probably benefited to the extent of 10 Imperator weapons or other Imperator gear. When/If Civil Unrest is fixed, their guild level advantage will allow them to strengthen their castle (15% buff to castle HP) and they'll be better geared than others too.
Even if EME does decide to ban those that are botting, the guild they belong two would still have the benefit of their activity. Also the question remains of whether EME would even ban them, actually proving botting might not be possible, but this isn't a court of law, EME has the right to take action based on overwhelming probablity if they so choose, but I've heard that that EME won't act unless there's "proof".
So where does that leave us? Are we inevitably left in the wake of this guild that is profiting greatly from exploits, and will likely continue to by their advantage in Civil Unrest? Can we as a player community speak out about this and get something done?
Can EME at least turn off Rally quest until they can find a way to proof it against botting? Or make it a random time (maybe within a 12 hour window) so that botting is harder to do?
