Personally, I wish they'd streamline the questing so that you have to do less (time-wasting) content but make it more difficult. Killing 25 paper basilisks is not fun. Killing 1-2 strong basilisks is rewarding and you'd actually learn the combat system. If they removed the majority of quests in the game, buffed their xp and streamlined it it'd be better. Many newer players will simply ignore some quests because they are annoying or because they have too many to keep track of already. I remember doing the same on my first character. It's sad that the open world areas are so beautiful and they're just there using server resources being filled with mobs that have no impact on what most players are doing. They should reduce the amount of mobs and make it 1-2 streamlined quests per camp instead of like 5 kill X mobs/collect X things quests. Even though there are so many things that would need to be rounded up for this I believe it would be the right decision. Even if it had to be done slowly over time. The lumbertown quests overhaul was a good change imo. But as far as I know there are NO story/obvious quests that take you through the area, which is a waste.
As far as endgame I don't mind them cutting some of the content because it usually still exists somewhere, just reskinned. Remember when they didn't put the fimbrilisk in VoK because there was one already in AIHM? The same reason DSU has been taken out because the new dungeons' last bosses are kaprima and queen reskins. Even most mechanics have been re-used. Pizza/donut cages, shields, etc. So there's not a lot of unique things to learn if you've been doing endgame for over a year. Also, if you have too many dungeons you'll have difficulty finding people to run them.
Uh, what? You're the one who said that, not me. You're the one who said open world BAMs teach you things to prepare for end game even though they have 0 mechanics. Remind me again how a 0 mechanic fight teaches you mechanics when you know... they have 0 mechanics?
I'll stick to short phrases to avoid another tl;dr
-How does leveling help teach level 65 content when pre 65 content isn't the same? (making them do more dmaage, more hp doesn't make it "harder" because these have been soloed with no gear)
-How does 0 mechanic BAMs taking 30 minutes to solo teach people to position in DF, SS, etc? (making them do more damage, have more hp, doesn't make these harder either as people have soloed BAMs with no armor)
-How does making a fight last 30 minutes instead of it being 2 minutes make it "harder" for experienced players when it's a 0 mechanic fight?
-How does BAMs prepare someone for MM?
I would imagine your unwillingness to read, and respond to what is said, along with you basing the discussion on your own personal bias is more harmful to the discussion than what I "thought" even though I never stated such a thing, nor thought such a thing to begin with. Your whole argument is "you're wrong because I said so". Although, it's still understandable regardless, it's always easier to blame others when you don't have anything meaningful to say.
