Changing UIs and aesthetics in game?

Hi, I recently watched a video about the new Sorc revamp - yes, amazing, isn't it? - and I was mesmerized by the beautiful colors of the numbers when you deal a hit to mobs. Like yellow numbers, lined up nicely. That was from a video with an Elin showcasing the new skills of the sorc.

I want to know, is it bannable action to use/try to change UI numbers dps? Or any other form of changing aesthetics/visuals, without taking advantage over other players or try to "break" your way through the main game. Actually, I really loved that style in Korean, just wanted to know if it's an official method or anything like that, that won't put me in to EME's and GF's black ban list. Thank you.

The video that I saw was that :

Hey! Modifications of any kind to the game files aren't allowed, but don't worry, with the sorc revamp patch we'll get a UI revamp too, and probably the UI in the video is the one we're getting in a few weeks!
  • Oh, perfect! Hope so, I really do! And does anyone knows if the new UI is gonna be improved and hits less and less the machines? Or is it gonna be worse?
  • Ah, before I continue, I would like to apologize If my post upset anyone in any way, I really do apologize for that.

New raid comes with UI improvements as well.

    There's no reason to apologize.
  • I want, of all things, the digit grouping. Sometimes it does get hard to tell whether you've done 1,234,567 or 12,345,678 damage late in game, and if the revamp is worth our time then we sorcs will be doing the latter more often.

That's not a mod. Those are just the new damage numbers.

    That's coming too.

I know, that it is not a mod, obviously, I was just asking IF there was a mod or any other method for something to look like this. But, judging from the answers of everyone here, I suppose my questions are all answered nicely.

Everyone, thank you so much for your answers, I can't wait when will the new revamp will come to NATera. Maybe at Christmas, or next year? Who knows? I'm looking the page like crazy. Hahahaha!

Just to add about the number grouping:

After sorc revamp patch hits, there will be new options under settings to change unit markers for damage number grouping.

don't worry about certain region using period (.) instead of comma (,) for number grouping, which I'm sure some country uses the other. You can even just have a blank space ( ) in between too.

But you won't be able to go back to single line of numbers without grouping. Not sure if anyone actually would want that, but it's just a fyi.
  • Hmmm...another quick follow up question then, If I may? Because I wouldn't like to make another post just for that one thing...

Any way - official, always - to add more blur effect around the character and behind him? Like, I get the fov and the dof, but I can't find any option to tweak the bg blur effect in order to make it seem more.....well, stronger. Is that even exist?
  • Good doesn't look like the animation on the character has changed for fireblast/meteor shower. I would riot if my Castanic butt swish animation was gone.

    *bump*
  • The long and short of it is this, you can change the files if you want and no one will give a jack squat about it. For a long time I ran my own crit indicators because the bloodied splat just wasn't doing it for me. I also changed the color of the text for various dps numbers and you can change the font as well. I will not link a guide on how to do this nor will I tell you that you should do it, just that it is possible.

If you tell no one, and don't rub it in people's faces by trying to get others to use it, then you most likely won't be bothered. GM's have better $hit to do than police people that aren't bothering other people.

It is possible for you to change your fonts/colors/etc. for the UI and things like damage numbers, but you should learn what you are getting into first else you could easily break the files. If you do anything like changing a file, be sure you make a backup of the file.

Also that video has nothing that has been modded. That is actually a preview from an upcoming patch.

think it is a S1Engine setting, that I am not too sure of.
  • Guys, I know it's not a mod, never ever have I said that the video is a mod, I simply asked if there is a mod similar to that, anyway, I don't want to bother other players, nor I want to take advantage of that, I just want to change the aesthetics in a more eyecandy way, and with more blur/
