FPS Issues

So I used to run Windows 8 and everything ran very smooth, little to no lag. Unfortunately, Windows forced me to upgrade to windows 10 and ever since then my FPS is around 10-17 when it used to be at 40-60. Does anyone else have these issues?

Make sure there are no driver issues, and normally a clean install of Windows is better than upgrading.
  • The biggest disadventage on w10 is that is constantly upgrading itself, as its a new OS and it requires updates for being 'up to date'.

I would suggest you forcing Windows Update to get all the updates it can, then, disable the updates and manually update it as often as needed (Once a week or so). Windows 10 is also quite invasive and it has background processes running such as telemetry, location, etc. so they might be using HW sources too. Disabling them might be good if you don't use Cortana (wich as far as I know, drains sources too even if you don't use it) but you'll need to know what to use and what are you doing to do so, as I think I can't give you the software's name here.

Personally, I'm using W10 atm and with my HW setup I get from 10 up to 30 fps, wich is way more that those I had on W7 or W8, it takes time to the OS to get used to your personal computer but I think is good enough to play.

    Greeting.

Thank you for that. Yes Windows 10 is a pain, I notice even when typing I get a 2-3 second delay. I never use Cortana it's just an annoyance to me entirely. I will try to find out how to stop it from doing automatic updates each time it does my game play gets worse.

Thank you! This helps me a lot too. I've been using 10 for a while now but lately I've been having issues as well

    Found out the major problem

    1. Cortana the energy hog
    2. Needed to re-format my computer
    3. Needed to update my Graphics cards drivers
