So I haven't played in about a year and a half, give or take. So I have decided to give the game another shot, but there has been a lot of changes and I would be lying if I said I wasn't overwhelmed by all the changes (like a lot!). When I left I was using the Ambit gear set, not sure where that stands now stat wise. Basically looking for someone to point me in the right direction. Would love to know The Armour set i should aspire to get as well as the dungeons I should be running to obtain these items.

    Just run DFNM, FINM, SSNM to get Slaughter gear because your Ambit is severely outdated.

    Since we have VM8 patch coming up soon, I advise you to just +12 as much slaughter as possible and to get the newer crit/power jewelery if you can afford to get them. At least 3/2 mainly crit.

    You'll quickly get rid of this gear once the upcoming content patch comes soon but you're going to need at least Slaughter to clear the new stuff.

    don't get +12 slaughter now.
    do CW, ABNM things and get dread gear first.

    We are gonna get new gear soon. If you want slaughter, just get weapon and belt. Use dread until next gear patch.

    Xaioli is pretty much spot on. You have aprox 4 weeks till the patch hits, thats more than enough to get Slaughter +12 gear and gather even more resources for the next patch. Getting Slaughter gear is also pretty inexpensive and since u have still this time gap b4 new patch, it will give you something to do.

    Also, make sure to check which glyphs you are missing. There might be some new rare glyphs that you are missing. And also check you glyph page, since some skills got some nice buffs.

    I would recommend:

    +12 Slaughter Wep, Slaughter Belt,
    +12 Dreadnaught Armors.

    OR just full +12 Dreadnaught.

    You don't want to waste too much money on Slaughter, because the enchanting rate will be buffed when Slaughter becomes the new Ambit which is VERY soon. Also, as long as your positioning is fine, you can easily do all dungeons prior to SSNM. No one really does the high end dungeons now because they have been spoonfed by the mongo event earlier on, so there is really no point in really gearing up for it. I don't think that spending more resources on a gear that is going to be just Ambit is worth it.

    If you really want, try to get +9 Slaughter (get 10 copies of all pieces excluding belt), and then masterwork once the new patch hits so you can easily transit into the next stage.

    For jewelry, just upgrade your jewelry to the new crit/power set. No need for "Signet and Cascade" items of the set, normal rings and earrings will do.

    I don't quite understand why a few are saying to get dread and wait for next patch? Or am I missing something? Because one way or another the OP will end up getting slaughter and use it to run the new dungeons. The earlier the better so he doesn't have to go and spend his time running around doing fodder dungeons while if he did get slaughter way before the patch hits then he could stock up feeds, mwa, etc and wait until Lilith arrives.

    No one wants slaughter now because they have it or have a better set (SF or Imp), so it's not a hassle in getting a full +12 slaughter because you can use the excess gears as enchantment fodder (high success rates too) which cuts down on you using gold for feeds/alkahests.
