  • You lost me Depurple :c oh btw what happened to that username haven't see you in the forums using it quite sad I'm a fan of your ThePurpleKnight persona. And you went back to old school better than new players :/ are you going to [filtered] talk a whole server again before transferring to another just to make an alt in the same server you seemed to hate later on? And act like nothing happened?
I saw AlucardEvilPvP beating Depore once was fun to watch.

I find it kind of funny that some of the people who hate BGs like Kumas say it's not "real pvp" because it's not a player vs player (even though it is, it's just all equalized), but somehow think gear based matches are anymore "real" when it's honestly Gear vs Gear.

Imagine how pvers would feel if the get SSHM only with equalised gear. It would suck. I hope they dont do it. Didnt see any patch notes today fyi.
This is probably the worst comparison ever. Pve only survives because you spend most of your time redoing your gear each cycle, because that's the goal of pve... without gear people would just quit sooner than they already do unless content can be put out faster. This doesn't apply to pvp, considering pvp can survive with no gear to chase after as there is a different goal and a different competitive environment. Otherwise, mobas, non-gear based shooters, etc wouldn't be popular pvp options.
  • It's not like a switch hits at +15 and you magically become invincible and oneshot people.

Crystals, positioning, chaining with fellow players, and armor and weapon rolls, will do more than an extra +3 enchant levels.

This also removes a huge reason to farm for Conflate and I think it's a bad decision. Civil Unrest is the only other option for geared PVP (which still has the problem of so many BS consumables that alliance had.)

Buff the EQ gear first before making everyone EQ.

Also plague and Derpybrain ive got some words to say to you as well. To you plague I spit on you for being oh so stupid to think +15 means you're actually good at the game.

When its all rng. its not skill there is no skill put into +15ing it's about money how much you have and who much you're willing to spend. You can grind your [filtered] off but in the end its luck whether or not it gets to +15 despite all the work you put into it.

What may have been 99 tries for you may have been one try for someone else.

Don't think I ever said that actually. (But by all means keep spitting. that's my fetlsh)
My highest gear was during vm7 where i had a whole piece of VM5 at +15 (+weapon at +12), 2 pieces of VM6 at +12 and a +12 VM7. (While being in the so-called "Only +15 guild" that people were complaining about because all their +15 so OP. Gotta find excuses to why you get your butt kicked right?)

Reasons why i said EQ was [filtered]:
It removes progression, which is vital in an RPG.
It allows for farming on alts. Which messes up the balance of the ELO rating. (Or do you love going up against an 1800 player because he decides to play on his 1000 alt so he can grind more credits)
It makes people think they don't need anything for the instance/makes it look like the instance is for beginners.
It makes it almost impossible to tell if a player put in any effort to knowing mechanics/rules/basics of the instance before a match starts.

Also no, you haven't torn my reasons apart. You just stated your own reasons. I just can't be bothered to reply to them as it is quite obvious that no matter what i say, you're just going to keep repeating yourself. (And because basically 75% of my posts end up correcting all the false things you said)

Also you keep saying "if you're good enough you should be able to kill someone that outgears you".
Small newsflash, this is actually perfectly possible. Any decent pvper will tell you that.

edit: Double post for some reason

I just like how you compare the pvp in this game with non-rpg's but don't consider doing that for pve. Plenty of single player games without gear that are doing just fine.
Gear/character progression/leveling up is all part of an RPG. We all picked this game because we wanted to play an RPG (combined with the other aspects of this particular game). I want my PvP to have those RPG aspects. Otherwise I wouldn't be playing this game but one that didn't have those at all.

Edit #2 Apparently Fetlsh is a censored word. Had to replace the i with an L. wtf eme how is that even a thing.
  • The worst part about this is not that I won't have an edge over other players with my p2w gear but the fact that equalized gear is so bad. I would much rather fight someone with perfect conflate/vm gear with my own gear then fight them with equalized. Some classes are just too powerful compared to others such as brawler which has killed me with 3 chained skills in cs while a perfectly geared pvp brawler would not be close to being able to do that with my pve rolled imperator.

You do realize there are multiple MMORPGs that do not have gear based pvp when it comes to battlegrounds/instance based pvp (GW2 being an example)? Gear in some games only provide stats outside of battlegrounds/instanced pvp (which means gear would still work in open world pvp/mass pvp) with you only wearing gear in battlegrounds for cosmetic purposes.

Great. As stated, that makes the (instanced) PVP part of that game non-rpg. Which is something I don't want in a game that I play. Which is why I chose Tera.
Literally nothing you said in that post has anything to do with my point.

Yes it does. You tried dismissing what I said by saying I was using Non-RPGs, so I brought up an MMORPG. If other MMORPGs, with more successful pvp than Tera, doesn't use gear, then does it mean that...... gear isn't necessary for pvp in MMORPGs and it's well..... simply your preference? Oh and, RPG has nothing to do with gear or progress, it's simply RPing in game form.

I had, and still have, no intention on discussing your preference and it has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Your preferences aren't rules for basic game design, they are simply opinions, leave it at that.

Anyways, have fun with your back and forth in thread number 1000~

Except you took the opposite of my statement by making it about having something in a game instead of something not being in a game. Something can always be added on and it will be the same with that added thing (In this case, an RPG with added PvP that doesn't have those same RPG elements). A sports game with a train-simulator minigame is not suddenly a sportsgametrainsim. A sportsgametrainsim that has his train simulator removed however means it's no longer that.

Where did i ever claim otherwise
i am clearly stating that my PERSONAL PREFERENCE is a game where the gearing aspect is present in PvP
I am stating that that is the reason why i played Tera.
I am stating that because this is (already mostly) removed, I am no longer playing tera.

Seriously you people are so intent on being right that you don't even realize that you're telling me exactly what i said, agreeing with my statement, and then claiming that i'm wrong.

If this isn't about opinions, then what is it about?
I never claimed the majority of the players feel the same way i do, and if EME wants to take this path then so be it. I'm simply telling them that for me it's a reason to not be here anymore.

Stop talking about aruu. He is just ordinary shtstain.
  • Is this for real? EQ fwc? are you [filtered] serious? Oh my sweet lord. Since Civil Unrest is a [filtered] joke and open world pvp is dead af, I see no reason to make any other pvp set. If this hit NA im gonna uninstall ASAP.
  • Can someone please explain then what is the point of getting PvP gear is if this happens? OW PvP doesn't exist we all know this as anywhere worth going is already a safezone so only thing is CU that's 1x a week, so saying don't login except 1x a week? that's great to kill player base...

Time to get back to 3v3, nvm I refuse to buy a race change to enjoy it.
Time to enjoy CS with some friends, nvm 5 man queue is not possible.
Time to go to gridiron, nvm I fell asleep after a 2 hours queue.
Time to enjoy CU, nvm it is super boring, and only gets interesting one day of the week.
Time to enjoy FWC, nvm I won't be able to humilliate people with better gear than mine.

I am not 100%, but EU never had equalized gear when you are below a certain ilvl, so they are adding that now. I also dont remember see this change in any of the ktera patch notes.
