@TogeBara Yosha doesn't stream while he's drunk. And he hasn't "screwed around" doing real dungeons.

Please don't pretend to know Yosha, because you obviously don't know anything other than him being a really great sorc (which he is).

I know for a fact I've seen him streaming while drunk several times. I consider screwing around doing things like running 4 brawlers 1 healer, which he has done before and will probably do again. He's also a really great warrior, or was a long time ago. I don't know if he runs his warrior much since he had a dedicated tank for his group.

He may have stopped streaming while drinking, but he has done it in the past on a few occasions and for a while, it was the only time he actually streamed at all. If he is streaming more often again and doesn't do that anymore, then fine, because I don't watch him nor do I follow anything more than his sorcerer guides anymore, but that doesn't make anything I've said less true.

The only reason I think Sorcerer is subpar is it depletes mana too fast it needs at least 2 healers or both divine infusion and sarberry ice juice to sustain the rotation. Hope it will be getting resolved in Sorcerer rework soon.

slayer is worse managing mp tbh, if you have mp chest dyad when you crit from behind, mp redu glyphs and experience you'll be fine.

Without a glistening armor dyad, slayer has worse mana than Sorcerer.
With 1 dyad, slayer has better mana than Sorcerer
With 2, slayer has always full mana while sorcerer's mana can still go empty.
Even 4 glistening armor dyads can not save sorcerer from mana starvation, at least for now.

It just means you don't know that there is something called mana siphon and mana volley, which are strong filler skills aimed to ensure you continue having mana. It's like Gunner's Replenish.

Normal Mana Pots are still a thing too, you don't really need the luxury ones the second you have 1-2 glistenings.

Difference is that Replenishment actually is a DPS gain because of skill resets. Using Mana Siphon/Volley/Infusion is just a DPS loss (excluding the no mana thing).

See, the thing is you don't use mana volley and siphon in anything aside from PvP. In PvP they are useful as a way to sap an enemy's mana more so than as something you use to gain mana. Also, you don't need but one mana bar to one shot someone (if you are actually good). It's used as denial.

However, in PvE you have enough mana to do a full rotation during BoC (and it seems you'll have enough after the patch changes). At that point you mana charge since everything is on cd, and then you start your secondary/filler rotation. A good sorc isn't ever out of mana or without casts to be done. Yosha doesn't even pause in his rotations. He's always casting something.

You have enough, but if you are actually spamming skills properly, you need at least a decent healer or pots to help keep your mana upkeep. Because Sorcerer's "rotation" is infinite. I tend to tap on one Mana Siphon every once in a while (not as part of a so-called standard rotation) just to ensure I don't bleed dry if I go ham, and there will just be that one time where you can't be bothered to use mana pots.

Also, with a decent mystic, no one can really run out of mana, not even sorcerer.
  • K this is getting interesting I want to make an oppinion too:
Played sorc since 3 years but didnt main it since 5 months now. The class seems bad compared to other classes on the first look because you have to micomanage stuff like range, positioning, flawless rota and mana which u dont have to do with some other classes. The newer classes are not compareable to the vanilla ones because lets be hones since reaper the classes are created to fit casual player. Sorc has a ton of skills (like mystic and priest) and thats not rly common for a dps because ninja for example is pretty easy to learn and not really hard to master. But after I really got into the class and really enjoyed playing a sorc I think I could say that my damage is pretty solid with 700-1,2m/s in SSHM with 140 ping and I dont own vm7 at all I safed 800k for vm8. My point is that you should not force yourself to play a class u are not made for and you also should not call other classes bad or weak because some people may be able to get the best out of it.
It sounds very stupid but my ninja was geared in full vm6 +15 and my sorc got atleast the vm6 weapin +15 and I am almost on the dps I did with my ninja in dfhm for example. Because the way sorcerer play kinda fits me more because barrier is just bae and the best iframe in the game because u can attack while iframing which is REALLY good
  • People saying sorc is worst class makes me think of those sorc/archers autoattacking from the side and front, and ninjas taking a few seconds break standing there between throwing random skills.

Anyhow, it'll get revamped soon, and should be more new-player-friendly then (since Celery is being removed), so everyone'll be happy except Slayers, who rely on a Talent system unique to KTERA.
Actually post revamp Sorc relies even more on the Talent system.

    Nope. It's Slayers.
The pre-nerfed version of the talents where you shaved 5.6 secs (or even 2.8secs) off Measured Slice, sure.

But 1.5 sec? Not so much.
  • Sorcerer suffers from having a really [filtered] crit rate, Archers used to suffer from having [filtered] crit rate in pve too, but not anymore after they gave them the crack shot passive, and compared to the other classes they are not in a really good position right now.

May as well say that all legacy classes are not in a good position right now.

Warrior, Sorc (soon), Archer, Zerk, Lancer are all great right now.

Agree.. ppl only say they are in a "bad position" because they require more time to get used to them...
  • No, U is the WORST player EVER!

Ninjas should never have downtime in a fight. If they aren't using skills then they should be auto-attacking to regain lost mp, reduce cooldowns, and to keep damage on.
I don't even run a properly spec'd ninja ( I gave up some raw dps for survivability and being able to reduce cooldowns on all my skills by like 21% or so since I mostly run solo and don't do dungeons) and I know that.
