  • lol peopel complaining about scripts and exploit holy [filtered] , no its not hard to grab those quests when u know their spawn time , all u need is pressing g and click l0l , now ppl dont seem to grasp this concept and keep qqing about script and bs , grabbing the rally multiple time today due to eme impressive maint job , is not hard keeping the server status on refresh and logging on asap it turns online on a non toaster pc and accepting the quest is also not scripting , ppl will come up with every possible [filtered] to make up for them not being able to get the quest.

I do agree the rewards and the spawn time is absolutly [filtered] [filtered] but gotta deal with it for now.

You've interpreted that as "we are not willing to" and you just assume that they easily could if they "tried harder" because you've made an assumption that "unless TERA's logs were designed by a moron" it should be easy. But I see no reason whatsoever to believe they have millisecond-accurate logs for spawning/claiming quests because, if you're not thinking about exploits, why would you log that to that degree of detail? At most you'd just get to the second because only one person will claim it, and whoever gets it first wins.

It's not some specific degree of detail that would only be applied to quests or some sort of foresight. Game logs are unified, they either work in milliseconds or they don't. It's not like XP gain is in milliseconds, quest accepting is in seconds, item disposal is in minutes and char creation is in hours. What I'm basing my argument on is they they didn't say they can't see the cheating, just that they can't be sure if it's cheating. To me that says that they don't want to decide on where the line between human and script lies, which is perfectly understandable and I would accept as an explanation. But this helpless child routine just doesn't sit well with me.
That's obviously not at all what they meant. They mean evidence that information has been shared/communicated on how to write such a script. For example, when there have been exploits to various battlegrounds, you could go on "certain sites" to find people explaining how to do the exploit. Of course, I think in this particular case there probably isn't that kind of evidence because it's not something that would require it, but they clearly were not implying you needed to hack someone's computer to find evidence.

That's not actual proof either. Just because I'm having a conversation with you about robbing a bank doesn't mean I'm a bank robber. Even if I told you that I robbed a bank, that's still not proof, I am, after all, allowed to lie.

quote]Just like the reason this exploit is happening in the first place, the programmers fail to truly think through the nature of players and the ways they'll try to abuse the system.[/quote]

You can never truly think it through, there's always somebody smarter who'll see what you missed. That's why they are supposed to take action and deter people from exploiting in such an obvious manner. Obviously, the design of the system is absurd as exploitation is not only guaranteed but also has a huge impact on the game itself. I, personally, would've gone with some sort of arena where the mob spawns and the guild that deals the most damage gets the quest. But, hey, it's their sandbox, we just get to play in it. If they want to do stupid things and then shrug when it goes south, that's their choice.
  • Scripting how does that work anyway lol anyways it seems like the rally quest on Feyforest server was glitched cause at the last reset the fluffy got it and after a while it said Luminous failed so i don't know what happend when you checked which guild had it last it was the fluffy and not Luminous.
  • Our guild got the rally quest, we spawned the bam and then right after the server crashed again. So we lost the ability to spawn it, the bam was gone, quest was still in progress.
    Apply salt.

    A scripter

How do you script a rally that's based on who the fastest person to get online is?

Shouldn't even call it macroing or scripting; it's cheating, plain and simple. Dunno why it's allowed to go on like this when the rewards for these quests are so good. Maybe the GMs have no way to enforce it.

It is allowed because @Spacecats said:

There have been reports and rumors of players using bots/3rd party programs to exploit the Rally quests, but there has so far been zero evidence to back up that claim. If any of you have some, please open a ticket with Customer Support and provide all the information you have.

So unless you can find any solid evidence, I.E. a SS/Video of someone running a script, no action will be taken.

It's dumb, but sadly, nothing we can do until BHS comes up with a fix.

And we all know how that goes.

don't need evidence statistically its near impossible
