Healing in 3v3

I've been playing Priest more now because I often find dps queue's to be much to long in soloq. As a newer priest how do you deal with ninja and warrior? There are no in depth guides that really explain specific matchups, but any guides you guys know of i'll definitely read (if i haven't already).

I do pretty well but if a ninja focuses me I honestly can't do a thing outside of kaia. None of my heals connect, can't plague, can't estars. I can spam cleanse and get a heal off on myself (barely) and if my dps take heavy damage from the other enemy dps that isn't on me its not possible to heal them if my kaia is down. Often times the other priest will be pressured less because ninja is pressuring me too hard and will wait for my kaia to come up to plague it. If my kaia gets plagued then it's over.

With warrior the only problem I have is the fact they can just backstab and kill me in 1 combo. I don't feel as locked down as I do with ninja, but its still very dangerous with the multiple staggers they have, plus the ability to crit me with a scythe for most of my hp.

Any advice or tips you guys have would be much appreciated.

  • Look up kennyphm on YouTube or kennybursts on twitch. I think he also has a google site for guides. He was considered the best priest in NA from vm 3 through vm 6ish. He started playing a little less since he started university
  • Ninja, slayer and warrior are hard on priest, even stressing if you have high ping. I actually like using mystic against them. Not sure if this will help you. In 90% of the timeif you get bs you will die if not peeled. It's just the reality of being a healer. Tho you can minimize the damage in a few ways.
    Defensive Tips:
    1. Always self buff endurance, you should try to have this buff 99% of the time.
2.Fire escape backwards to wall or pillar. Minimizing damage is very important, try to escape or backstop so that your back is protected by the wall or pillar.
    3. Pillaring: running around the pillar is useful to avoid cc and backstabs, add a gs is they get in sight or restoration circle I think it's called. It covers most of the pillar, so you can heal even when your getting hit or kd'ed. With backprotected, the endurance buff and the healing of the circle it's going to make it harder for him to kill you, probably he won't for a while.
    4. Use your team as bait for backstab;) who cares about them, then you cleanse them afterwards and everything is ok.
    5. Try to stay out of hazard zones, keep a good distance. If you have to, add the range increase in target heal.
    6. Call your team: you get slept call it, no retaliate call it, silenced, backstabed, ect. Its a teams game, you can't do everything alone.
    7. Cleanse, this skills is probably my favorite. Play or understand other classes, then predict their kd/stagger.
    8. Ninja is a tricky match up. They run out of mana fast if they trying to apply pressure for the long run. If the ninjas has mastered stagger locks, without help you will die no questions asked. Lower ping can destroy you by just using atonement when they have 50% chakra stun and 3 fa. Not sure if they can pull off double fa, shuriken on time and blossom and fa in solo. In any case if you know a ninja that did 3fa combo on you once, tell your team to focus him or peel you . It only takes 1 stun and your dead. Check their crystals, what greens pvp defense, attack or hybrid. You kaias, they will either stun or 1k
Ninjas get careless when doing pressure, so a good peeler can get very nice combos on him. If He's low and the dps on healer and the ninja Is in trouble. No mana, he can't do anything other than auto attack your. Not getting hit when they attack is very useful so they don't get the the salivating proc, and most priests forget to channel for their team. I like playing pillar with them, and lots of restoration, cleanse, kaias/hide,gs
    9. Most ninjas can't land their stun unless they are 4-6m, ik 3-7 might hit, but the chance is significantly lower. 4-6 if the sweetspot. Btw eme of your read this tell bluehole fix the ninja stun please ;_; we need something to deal with gunners, taunting robot stun for days is hard. So when you kaias, try not to get in that range zone, like I said their options are to either 1k and stun.
Best tip: be patient 3s is known as the most toxic place in Tera, and you will receive lots of hate while learning and even after, so try to not let it get to you. Have fun, play to improve/learn from mistakes and make friends with the nice part of community there. I'm pretty avg so take everything I said with a grain of salt, I'm pretty avg.Oh bother Kenny and pits in game, they have lots of experience and Kenny is pretty helpful. Check out his guide
    Best of luck
  • Since these guys have given you the playstyle tips. I'll give some advice on another matter.

Invest in dyads and make some relentless/resolutes. Dyads can give you a bit of an edge if made correctly.

Do yourself a favour though. Sticking to pillars is fine but if you get focused and pinned to a wall forget it. You're dead unless peeled. I've seen and done this before. Pinned a priest to the wall after he backstepped away and I ripped him or her apart , they had no peels so it was GG. Awareness is also a key factor in 3s.

I suggest you conduct duels in outskirts with people who are knowledgeable about their classes and what you can do to get better.
