I normally have 60-80 ping. Started happening about a week or two ago
Exact same thing here on FF, 5:30PM ~ 6:30PM PST . Massive ping spikes (unplayable). Only TERA and Discord have issues with my comcast connection during this time.
Atm when I get it, it's usually just 10 minutes or so of mini lagspikes, and then it's gone. Still getting random DCs several times a week, though, whether that's related or not.
Everything was fine until 8:48 PM Eastern when packet loss started to occur. Once the packet loss started, the game became nearly unplayable with frequent multi-second lag spikes.
It appears the issue exists at hop 8, which is within the Zayo network. This doesn't appear to be the fault of Comcast, rather something wrong within Zayo's network that likely affects many Comcast users.
I don't think there is anything that Comcast users can do about this (other than switching ISPs and hoping for a different route). However, maybe someone from EnMasse could talk to Zayo about the issue since it appears that the TERA servers are directly using Zayo for internet access (last hop before TERA server is still on Zayo's network).
If anyone else wants to try duplicating this test, download PingPlotter and use 208.67.49.145 as the Target Name.
Cause im not from USA but im dealin with spikes on those last 2 days...
just wondering...
Many of the people reporting issues in this thread are using Comcast (US ISP). However, it is likely that people on other providers or in other countries are also experiencing issues. It depends on the network route taken between the user and TERA's servers and appears to be a Zayo problem.
For people who are getting lag spikes, I recommend running PingPlotter in the background while playing TERA (use 208.67.49.145 for target IP). If you start having lag issues for more than a few seconds, alt-tab back to PingPlotter and see if you are getting packet loss. If your issue is similar to mine, you will likely see packet loss within Zayo's network.
