but I want to know how is this in Tera
  • I've played Tera on a GTX 765M, around medium settings, just boosted textures up to look better. 860M should be fine.

It depends on the CPU being paired with it. Wouldn't matter if you got one of the desktop grade 1080s if you have a low end CPU.

OMg I have a GTX970M and i get 1 fps in raids. GG Tera #Bestgame
  • I have a 860M, and I have the settings pretty high (max nearly everything, except shadows) with a FPS that fluctuates between 40 and 70. Raids can be a problems, though, as they can dip in the low 20, but if you just reduces the amount of effects from other players, you should be fine.
  • @KarmaTheAlligator ty so much for ur answer
  • I dont even have a graphics card. Can do fwc, cs, ssh, dsu, df, etc just fine.

    Hi I'm Pokedex.

As a Lancer, I have a lot of trouble with FPS issues. I play on a GTX 860m and I gotta say I want to [filtered] kill myself whenever I play fraywind. I am never sure when giga is going to land and I always have to do it on grey blobs. I'm never sure if they are in iframe animation or not and they just teleport around. I can't afford to play with anything other than preset 0 and other ini settings changed. I have to set it so I can no longer see important things like plague or else my FPS will just be god awful in 3s.

Dueling in MT outskirts is nearly impossible because 1) it's laggy in general and 2) as soon as I start dueling, mobs of people come around to watch, especially if I'm dueling Numbnips and it actually makes it stupidly laggy. We have to duel in a secret location if we want to duel without any FPS issues.

This is from a perspective of a highly competitive player where any dip in FPS will cause me to miss a chain stagger. One missed stagger is equivalent to missing a triple giga or a 6-7 second chain stun or results in me getting plagued. If you are looking to get highly competitive (about the highest of what TERA can be lul) and you play a class like warrior, slayer, lancer, or maybe even archer, it's going to be tough. I can do basically everything Numb can on reaper with the 860m so if you're playing another class you should be fine.
  • lol @UnbanCuatal its depends of the class ? well ty for the information

Your graphic card doesn't matter here.
TERA run heavily on CPU, not GPU. Unlike other games.
Typical MMO codes to use only 1 CPU core, plus poorly optimized.
    Refer to this threads:

Pretty sure TERA will play the same way no matter how beastly powerful your graphics card is, due to extremely poor optimization like everyone above said. If you want TERA to run just like other games, you would need an Intel CPU, as TERA gets along better with Intel than with AMD, and OC it a tiny bit, enough to be in safe zone. Even with some OC, TERA is so terribly optimized that it wont play as good as other games but close enough.

Now ill just keep waiting (forever) for BHS to finally notice this and optimize their game. (will never happen :skull: )
  • You can make Tera run pretty well if you take the time to tweak files and testing the tweaks for whatever your setup is, cpu is key as well. I use a 860m not sure what my cpu is but I got it so i run tera on max settings and get 60 fps or higher everywhere, the only exceptions was when nexus was around and then the new nexus thing around highwatch I would drop down to 30ish fps during those. I drop down to 40 fps in highwatch unless theres people spamming motes or something. I don't over clock and keep my temp cool with a suction fan.

Heavy reliance does not mean entire reliance. Your GPU can be the cause of problems, it just shouldn't be your main focus unless it is what's causing problems.
