Hitting 65 before getting the 64 avatar weapon

Why does the avatar weapon vanished off of the side of your inventory if you hit 65 before you actually obtain it? it kind of leaves you in a messed up position of lacking any weapon to start with for beginning the 65 content, isn't this a bit of an oversight?

  • It's sort of weird that you ran into this because the game usually sort of freaks out once you hit the level tier and starts spawning tons of shards (usually all at once).

That being said, it's possible that it's just the UI that turns it off at max level, and that actually you can go out and kill things and the shards will still drop.

They stop dropping, if I had to guess it's because you are now at the level cap and are expected to be using idoneal or w/e it is you're supposed to get, I've had it happen before while leveling reapers. On the other hand I think MaC should drop it... I know it drops something similar to (if not the) avatar weapon as a whole instead of shards so you could try to do it and see.
  • Oh, isn't it also possible to buy the avatar weapons for vanguard credits? I seem to recall that was the case anyway...

I don't know if the lvl 64 is there, but even if it is, it's pretty much a waste of credits unless you're in a real hurry for some reason.

Well, it would leave a gap -- that level 64 Avatar weapon is basically the replacement for the Idoneal weapon you used to get.

And yeah, you can't get the avatar version (doesn't have the crit bonus for enemies in range), but you can get a similar version from Vanguard Supply for 600 credits. So there is at least a "way out" if anyone is really needing a stop-gap weapon.

The level 65 orange quest in island of dawn gives full dread gear including weapon. Just get a party and kill those countless of bams that are over your level. Good luck enchanting it though if you're new. It gives a bunch of alkahests, but 0 feed.

Doing the starter dungeon quest line (the same one that hands you Idoneal gear...) gives you feedstock. Around ~300-500 T8, I forget. I think it's 500.

if that's how much it gives it's still not enough to fully +12 a full set... but hey, it's something and it's once per character.
I guess I'll have 3000~5000 feedstock when I decide to do it.

It shouldnt take that much, Dread is easy to +. About 1200-1500 is plenty.

Oh no no, I meant 3-5k to use on maybe 2-3 of my 10 chars XD... I kind of main Castanic and that's all I can say because I play any class (that is not elin exclusive, thus why I have 10 chars only and I don't really "main" one in the strict sense of the word) depending on how I feel like... although I might just gear Sorc (my actual "main") Mystic (if only to throw my [filtered] at people... I've been waiting for so long for this!) and Lancer, maybe finish enchanting Brawler stuff from w/e is left over since most pieces were +9 already.
