lol so are you saying that having no patch notes at all with less than 20 hours left for patch to be alive it's ok?
Cause that's the only topic we have in this post.
when eme does nothing they get paid
when eme does something bad they still get paid
....
if i did a work that bad i would get fired on my job.....why is this tolerated?
and yes people complain CAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT, either something is done badly or nothing is done at all >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> hence the complains (pls stop being eme's little b****)
I can understand that if they have work in progress, however why are you doing it within 24h of the patch ":D why not work hard and have everything ready a few days earlier, if others can why can't they?
wizard you might be a person with a lot of understanding and patience, but if for example i see that others do the same job better, i will simply go to them, as with anything in real life actually, you see the same prduct being made better at some other place next time you will go there not return where you are not satisfied with the service
While I do agree with you, sometimes things do no go according to plan, this brings me to mind of Ark Survival Evolved. Nothing is ever on time and the dev's are still great. S**T happens, it needs to be fixed, can't be fixed in time. And to be honest I would rather have them working on the patch/issues than writing a post about whats in the patch. Just IMO.
I think the current criticisms are totally valid actually. Look at the state of things; we're basically reading EU's notes (which they got several days before their patch landed, by the way) because our version, less than 24 hours before the patch hits, still hasn't given actual notes about a major content update that will lay the foundation of the game for the next six months. While it doesn't affect me, since I read the korean notes ages ago and already had a general idea of what to expect, I can completely understand why someone would complain about "no patch notes yet," when a date's been announced without any info outside of the teaser page.
Heck, I'm surprised from a business standpoint as well. One would think providing notes ahead of time would give the player base time to generate hype, bring old friends back into the game, and seduce new players as well. Instead it's the day before the patch and nobody's even playing.
Chill. The patch notes are usually out around 4pm-6pm PST.
Since when do patch notes have anything to do with the quality of a product? Even the other Western Tera from Game Forge only provided notes 2 days before the patch, so a day before EME usually does... and the patch notes weren't even accurate and received changes later on anyways. I prefer seeing patch notes a day before with it being accurate than inaccurate patch notes since I tend to read them as they are posted, and only once.
I wouldn't call a 2 day notice, that had to be edited after it was posted, as "several days". Their notes were posted on the 18th with the maintenance taking place on the 20th. I believe the edits for their notes took place on the 19th, with probably no notice of there being changes made.
We are. There were a couple last minute clarifications to make in wording. Expect patch notes in the next 30 minutes or so.
Is the crux of your argument against my point really going to be "he said EU had several days notice and really they just had two! WHOO GOTTEM"? Okay. I should have said "a couple of days." My point still stands, though; their two day notice is objectively better than our half-day notice, and just better in general for personal planning and hype building. Again, I'm not mad or anything; I already read other versions' notes. I can just see why other people are upset over it and I don't really think they're wrong to feel that way considering how big this patch'll be and how long we're gonna be stuck with it.
Regarding the whole "how does an extra day help" bit, there are plenty of ways. Not everyone's been playing for years, so not everyone knows about the way the gear cycle repeats itself. Knowing a day in advance (hell, in all honesty a week would be even better) might stop someone from wasting all their feedstock on slaughter gear since it'll be easy to enchant tomorrow. Knowing a day in advance would give someone time to look over the dungeon content since half of it is returning stuff. Hell, just look at all the changes to alchemy -- knowing a day in advance might save someone from mastering it tonight, only to learn from the late patch notes that it'll be worthless. Obviously this is some speculative [filtered], and it's why I personally think notes this important should be given several weeks' notice instead of a few days, or at least some kind of PSA in some areas like "hey guys alchemy's gonna be worthless" or something, so players who don't browse ktera blogs aren't consistently in the dark/getting screwed, but I hope you can see my point for an update with this much game-changing stuff in it.
The teaser already mentions 2 new sets of gear... and patch notes don't even provide information on new gear that even tells "new" people what to expect... and if they are new, they'll need Slaughter enchanted to 9~12 anyways (due to lack of connections to get leeched in new dungeons), so I don't see your point. As for crafting, if someone is that new/inexperienced to the game, they'll do that whether the patch notes are posted or not due to them not knowing anything... people already max out their useless profession as it is due to them expecting crafting to be meaningful, after all, normally games tend to at least remove out dated systems and not keep them in as these are "noob traps", no amount of patch notes will prevent this other than if we ever got a patch with notes stating "crafting has finally been removed".
It's rather silly when people use the think of the new/inexperienced people! argument, when in reality, nothing they even propose is for their benefit. At least be honest and say you want it earlier out of your own selfishness like others do.
