I honestly do not care whose fault it is (okay, I do, what I mean is that, in the end, it doesn't make much of a difference because the end result is what we have, this middle finger of a decision). BHS will take this kind of decision because it is profitable for them. So the best way to stand against this is to not partake by not buying the dragons, and I'd go as far as suggesting not using the tokens for the in-game dragons either. Realistically, that's not gonna happen, but it's about the only way to show disagreement and make it report less benefits than they projected.
This is not true.
Any move in a p2w direction would have cost almost the same. The thing that they "lied" is just an extra emotional layer on top of this whole [filtered] of a patch we got.
Every single thing we get now is either broken or p2w or bad.
Lets face it, EME holds no power anymore and this game in this region is dying if they keep this up.
The only reason I think it's important to understand what happened is to bring context to what's going on, to understand what can be done about it, and to consider how it impacts what's to come. But the net effect (the middle finger, as you say) is the same.
I think that "extra emotional layer" is probably the worst part at least in terms of preserving some sense of community and goodwill. But I agree that the game is not in a good place -- probably the worst it's ever been in terms of the quality of content and the direction of key directorial and marketing decisions from on-high.
That said, I wonder in two different directions:
1. Let's say that you're right and this is really the beginning (the middle?) of the end for the game in this region. Does BHS care? Can they just focus on other markets now and be okay? In that case, we kind of already don't matter.
2. On the other hand, let's say that, despite what people are saying and feeling, this doesn't have a discernible impact on any key metrics. What does that mean about the decisions that will be made going forward?
Either direction is worrisome.
I feel like this wouldn't be QUITE so terrible if the 2.0 dragons being cash shop if they were more reasonably priced. I am not paying $5 for a CHANCE to get a VIRTUAL item. I could spend $60+ which is the worth of a full game, not one feature of a game. Now, if I could just buy it straight our for $5, I'd happily get one because the diamond one is super pretty.
Overpriced RNG is why I don't buy EMP. >_> Not a problem with those who do, it just doesn't personally seem worth it to me. I probably would if it was cheaper.
I do think though, that having a token in a loot box that puts a cap on RNG is a really nice step in the right direction when it comes to loot boxes though IMO, which I really appreciate. Speaking of which, this probably needs an actual cap. I'd say, 30 days, 45 absolute max of doing all 6 a day would be more fair. Still harsh, but seems actually doable.
Ignoring the utterly PUTRID p2w horse plop going on with the TERA Store dragons for a moment, putting the Dragon Scales for the non p2w ones in pretty much all the hardest content is a ginormous f*** you to a large portion of players. This may come as a shock to you, but not everyone likes to do the absolute hardest content, LET ALONE GRIND IT REPEATEDLY. (ALSO WHY STRONGHOLD AND NOT FWC?) Also what the castanic is with that RNG on top of RNG ON TOP OF RNG with the eggs, you should have made the dragon drop rate from mysterious eggs 100% because burning players out with absurdly excessive grinding is gonna be extremely bad for the games long-term health.
If this is all because of BHS's meddling, I feel bad for EME, but as is, the dragon's were better off staying in the den rather then having this garbage served up to us because right now they're making Elin's cry.
