So dragons aren't bankable, are dragon scales and dragon claws bankable?

Why the lack of transparecy. This is not what players asked for. You never explained, to my knowledge, why the delay in the plan and the change in the plan. So, why are things being made this way? I really would like an honest answer.
They did provide the honest answer.

    1) They had a plan they liked and were ready to launch with it.
    2) At the last minute, someone very high up at BHS said "no way in [filtered]" and made them pull it.
    3) They had to enter negotiations with BHS to provide any sort of way to put it in-game at all.
    4) This system (or what EU got, which is ultimately worse) is what BHS allowed.

It's clear from the system we see now (both here and in the EU), BHS wants the royal dragons to not really be obtainable by purely in-game means without involving the cash shop in some way (or to be so impossible to earn in game that the cash shop/broker is the infinitely better option).

At this point the best thing you could do is remove the crit power passives. They are the only reason this is such a big deal, and such a bad idea. Nobody wanted or asked for that. The mounts by themselves are cool, and you know they'd sell. But the DPS boost is just out of place and unhealthy.
The fact they have these boosts is the very reason we have this situation in the first place. BHS is forcing the publishers to put these boosts on the cash shop as a revenue generator. Based on this whole situation, there's no way they'll accept at all to remove the passive.

I totally agree with everyone that this result sucks. But it's useful to understand how we got here so we have a sense of the options realistically available.

I honestly do not care whose fault it is (okay, I do, what I mean is that, in the end, it doesn't make much of a difference because the end result is what we have, this middle finger of a decision). BHS will take this kind of decision because it is profitable for them. So the best way to stand against this is to not partake by not buying the dragons, and I'd go as far as suggesting not using the tokens for the in-game dragons either. Realistically, that's not gonna happen, but it's about the only way to show disagreement and make it report less benefits than they projected.

This will be EME undoing, they brought this upon themselves and it's going to cost them dearly.
It will cost them (and already has), but they only "brought this upon themselves" by making one key mistake: not getting specific approval from BHS higher-ups before announcing their plan to players. Because they spoke "out of turn" (as they would later find out), everyone will hold them responsible regardless of whether they actually had any choice. Basically, the road to [filtered] is paved with good intentions.

    This is not true.
Any move in a p2w direction would have cost almost the same. The thing that they "lied" is just an extra emotional layer on top of this whole [filtered] of a patch we got.
Every single thing we get now is either broken or p2w or bad.
Lets face it, EME holds no power anymore and this game in this region is dying if they keep this up.

I agree with your judgement both about a) the best way to stand against the issues, and b) the fact that, unfortunately, it probably won't happen.

The only reason I think it's important to understand what happened is to bring context to what's going on, to understand what can be done about it, and to consider how it impacts what's to come. But the net effect (the middle finger, as you say) is the same.

I think that "extra emotional layer" is probably the worst part at least in terms of preserving some sense of community and goodwill. But I agree that the game is not in a good place -- probably the worst it's ever been in terms of the quality of content and the direction of key directorial and marketing decisions from on-high.

That said, I wonder in two different directions:

    1. Let's say that you're right and this is really the beginning (the middle?) of the end for the game in this region. Does BHS care? Can they just focus on other markets now and be okay? In that case, we kind of already don't matter.

    2. On the other hand, let's say that, despite what people are saying and feeling, this doesn't have a discernible impact on any key metrics. What does that mean about the decisions that will be made going forward?

    Either direction is worrisome.
  • the only way i can see this dragon thing working out is by making the f2p dragons a bit easier to farm and leaving the crippled passive at 1.5. Then in a later patch you should make the 1.5 dragon upgradeable by bit more of farming (which is also not something that would take half a year to acomplish). The 2.0 dragon could be obtained immidetly but only by "swiping" and would give p2w players a slight adventage for a short period of time while the f2p 2.o is released later . This way youll have P2W f**ktards with no skill at all pay for the 2.0 dragon and harvest yourself some money AND youll keep majority of your other players semi-satisfied. the only way out to this f**kup you put yourselfs into.
  • And so it begins! The PVP its already [filtered] in this game and now the era of P2W is coming! Congratz EME!
  • WTF!! 2.0 CRIT POWER FOR GHOST AND DIAMOND.. PAY 2 WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [filtered]!!!!!
  • For Real, I don't even know why this [filtered] dragons have a [filtered] Crit power Passive Skill, we just wanted the damm cool mount. If this is what u are doing after so much time, just keep doing the Hello Kitty and little Llamas mounts. You guys are a joke!
  • [filtered] [filtered] [filtered] [filtered] TIME TO FIND A NEW GAME
  • I'm really dissapointed too. The least you could do is make these dragon items bankable.

Why are you people so F$%^ing cheap. Support the [filtered] company, O thats right everyone wants a friggin handout.
If you think that BHS and EME deserves be supported there is something wrong with you.

...this is ridiculous. And I feel really bad for EME getting put in this situation. It doesn't look like @Spacecats is thrilled with it either, or he'd be defending it. Instead we get what looks to me to be a very begrudging announcement with an apologetic feel.

I feel like this wouldn't be QUITE so terrible if the 2.0 dragons being cash shop if they were more reasonably priced. I am not paying $5 for a CHANCE to get a VIRTUAL item. I could spend $60+ which is the worth of a full game, not one feature of a game. Now, if I could just buy it straight our for $5, I'd happily get one because the diamond one is super pretty.
Overpriced RNG is why I don't buy EMP. >_> Not a problem with those who do, it just doesn't personally seem worth it to me. I probably would if it was cheaper.

I do think though, that having a token in a loot box that puts a cap on RNG is a really nice step in the right direction when it comes to loot boxes though IMO, which I really appreciate. Speaking of which, this probably needs an actual cap. I'd say, 30 days, 45 absolute max of doing all 6 a day would be more fair. Still harsh, but seems actually doable.

The following Vanguard Requests will grant Dragon Scales as rewards:
    • Shadow Sanguinary (Hard)
    • Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Hard)
    • Lilith’s Keep (Hard)
    • Ruinous Manor (Hard)
    • Ruinous Manor (Normal)
    • Corsair’s Stronghold

Ignoring the utterly PUTRID p2w horse plop going on with the TERA Store dragons for a moment, putting the Dragon Scales for the non p2w ones in pretty much all the hardest content is a ginormous f*** you to a large portion of players. This may come as a shock to you, but not everyone likes to do the absolute hardest content, LET ALONE GRIND IT REPEATEDLY. (ALSO WHY STRONGHOLD AND NOT FWC?) Also what the castanic is with that RNG on top of RNG ON TOP OF RNG with the eggs, you should have made the dragon drop rate from mysterious eggs 100% because burning players out with absurdly excessive grinding is gonna be extremely bad for the games long-term health.

If this is all because of BHS's meddling, I feel bad for EME, but as is, the dragon's were better off staying in the den rather then having this garbage served up to us because right now they're making Elin's cry.

  • And yet I blame BHS for this, and we all know EME can't do a lot without the authority of the south koreans overlords.
  • This is such failure, you aren't making anyone "happy" but furious and angry. Even with this many complains you still didn't get that what you putting in the game will be totally useless to those who actually have a life and RNG god hates them, and as I know you the % of dropping the drago will be like 1% in each box. WTG EME.... -.-
