New way to address feedstock/gearing issues in dungeons
The recent changes made so that high tier gear items can't be broken down into feedstock was presumably done to try and help people trying to acquire gear when people would roll on any item just for the feedstock value. However these changes have servered to make the supply of feedstock worse, thus solving one problem only by making another problem worse. The new enchantment method doesn't mitigate this because using gear to enchant doesn't increase subsequent success chances and actually still means people roll for items for enchanting purposes rather than for gearing.
I propose an alternative way to address this issue. Add new options to party loot for dungeon runs - 3 options: Gear, Fodder, Standard
In a party that has party loot set to "Gear" the dungeon would drop gear items that have zero feedstock value.
In a party that has party loot set to "Feedstock" the dungeon would drop piles of feedstock rather than gear items. This would also speed up loot distribution as no rolling would be required.
In a party that has loot set to "Stand" the dungeon would drop gear items that have the old/standard feedstock values. Members of the party can then agree/disagree privately who rolls for what items.
In manually created parties & LFG, the party leader would set this new loot option as he/she builds the party. For parties created via Instance Matching, each person would specific on the IM window what sort of party they wanted. IM would then either try to group people according to preference or, if not possible, set the loot option based on majority preference. If the majority of people in an IM party selected "Gear" then 0-feedstock gear would drop, if the majority selected "Feedstock" then feedstock piles would drop, if no majority then gear with standard feedstock values would drop.
These changes, I believe, would solve the gear stealing problem, without impacting on feedstock availability, and not require the need for the new additional enchantment method, thus keeping the process of enchanting as simple as possible.
