No it absolutely was not lol. It has been 60k or more forever. The last time I saw it at 35k when a few months after I started playing... when gunner came out.
5-6days ago it was going for 60-65k
Now it's up to 75-80k
If people keep buying @ these prices,
They will remain the same or go higher.
It's just the way it is. Things will never be the same! Just the way it is.
Ah yes, people randomly generating (not earning it through selling on the broker, but creating it) over 1 million gold out of thin air, by the way this is 1 person generating all this gold in a single day, definitely isn't a problem... It's all the evil mongos and somehow all the fault of fwc change, that we just got that magically influenced the cost of Elite Scrolls before the patch hit. You know, how can Mongos be responsible for Elite Scrolls going from 20k to ~70k when the Elite Scrolls hit 70k+ long before mongos? For the last several months they have been bouncing between 60k and 90k. Seems you would make a good politician at least.

Not only were Elite and Level 60 scrolls rewarded, but so was EMP. A few weeks after the event ended Elite and level 60 scrolls had gone up in price, along with EMP rates slowly going up due to the supply from the event draining and inflation. Throughout this year EMP rates have exceeded 1:40 on TR when people are desperate. It was like this before even the Mongo event. Even at 1:35 rate an Elite Scroll would still be 69,825 gold per 30 days, if anything, people should be happy it's possible to get it for less. Elite Scrolls would need another temporary injection to drop the price, if EME really felt they were too high. The thing is should Elite even be priced so low? Back then I found it absurd that just doing GG on 1 char per day alone would fully pay the cost of Elite while giving you more than you spent, and this was just on the gold dropping. Even currently Elite just based on the doubled Vanguards for an instance that only rewards 70 credits per day 8x a day on a single character can get you at least 34,000 gold worth of MWA. That is half the cost of Elite with a single character doing simply low tier dungeons that take 2~4 mins a clear. Then factor in any gold/time saved from the nostrums, avoiding broker fees, extra gold from drops, etc. I don't think Elite needs to go back to a point where the cost in gold is completely lower than the amount of gold returned with absolute minimal effort. You could basically do CW/KC on 2 characters, sell the MWA, and you got the gold back. This is even with the low ~20g/MWA, imagine when the cost of MWA was double. Buying Elite is an investment, you are investing ~70k for what ever reason, and the return on the investment depends on the individual. If the investment wasn't worth the cost then people wouldn't pay for it.
Either way, you're the expert, so I'll just stay quiet.
(I think Elite is easily worth the 75k if you're going to use it to its potential, since you can easily use that 75k to make much more than that in return, but still.)
I would bring back the rotating monthly mounts, fix the Tier Feedstock to match with the appropriate patch, give a 30-day standard costume (not dyeable; they used to do this), and give unlimited crafting (I know they give an item that gives 1000 production points back a day, but etching is something else...) I would almost argue for gem bags, but giving players free diamonds out the woodwork can be a little... yeah. Economy sucks enough already.
Anyway, just wanted to +1 your point.
Which server is this on, darling?
Sure that amount of incoming pure gold definitely had an impact on the game but that was such a long time ago to the point where I'd actually say a decent amount of that gold has actually left the game or isn't actively circulating anymore (through people quitting/never coming back from breaks/people sitting on their gold piles and not actively using it to buy items in game). Furthermore, the reason emp went up so slowly was because there were always a lot people that needed gold in game and were willing to put money into this game so they were able to supply emp (well I guess there were also a lot of people using stolen cards to sell emp around steam release time which was also why it was that low) but you can see that the supply of emp plays a big role in determining the current "emp rate". In addition, elite voucher prices are almost always directly related to the current emp rate because they are really the only item from the store that affects actual game-play drastically and are thus seen as "safe buys" from the store because they'll always be needed. This is why elite vouchers are the item that most resembles the actual current emp rate and are a good indicator for determining the approximate emp rate of a server. Fast forward to our current time and there's barely anyone willing to "put money" into this game for several reasons. Obviously the biggest reason would be the immensely smaller population nowadays compared to a year (or even a few months) ago. Then, you have events like mongos that made necessary progression items incredibly cheap so you don't need as much gold now compared to before to progress your gear (whether you farmed it yourself during mongos or were unlucky and missed it and had to buy it, let's be real the power of gold has gone UP since mongos came out because of how much you can accomplish with the same amount of gold now than before). Finally, you look at how fraywind is equalized now and there's even less incentive to gear your character up now. A large number of emp sellers were pvp focused players that didn't want to grind pve for their gear so they just bought it. You combine all these things and it's clear there's less emp sellers today than before which is the main reason emp rates have gone up. Of course the gold necessary to sustain these increasing emp rates had to have come from somewhere and I believe that it's more from the condensed population and not solely due to gold from TAR. Finally, don't forget that the beginning of a patch is when people most need gold and thus are more likely to sell emp yet where are these supplies of emp now? They either don't need gold/as much gold as before or they just don't even exist anymore because they're not playing this game anymore or are hesitant to invest in this game anymore.
As for the actual price of elite do I think 75k is too high? Personally, I don't because elite is pretty valuable for me. However, it's all on how each person uses it and if they can't get the "worth" out of it they shouldn't be buying it in the first place but that's beside the point.
I mean I don't really care what you say/think nor do I claim that I'm absolutely right and you must believe me; I'm just saying that in my opinion there's quite a bit more to the increasing elite/emp rates than just "inflation" and my comment was actually relevant and not just me blaming something (I apparently don't like?) for no reason other than blindly "spreading false information". Oh, I hope you realize that I don't actually hate mongos/fwc because I already know how to make the outcome of those events/changes favorable for myself but for the actual longevity of this game I do think they are changes that will contribute to bringing about the end of this game sooner rather than later.
I figured it was pretty obvious by my posts I have zero interest in discussing opinions. The only opinionated portion of my posts was whether ~75k for Elite was a lot of gold or not, and that I don't think Elite needs to be low to the point 1 character doing 0 effort instances daily pays for itself and more. Your initial post was also worded as if your statement was factual and not opinionated.
My post wasn't purely about inflation, two times you conveniently ignored at least two events that directly impacted the supply of two EMP items and EMP itself back when Elite scrolls costed less. I even made it clear it was a combination of inflation AND supply, not one or the other, but both.
I would say when a person expresses discontent with something, several times, it's pretty clear they don't like it...
As you can see, this isn't going to go anywhere as all I'm doing is repeating myself.
@Borsuc Should be top right of your post in the grayish bar next to time stamps. The gear thing, click on it. To answer your other question, it's because I don't see it as my position to put people in their place, especially since realistically speaking, he has more "backers" than I do anyways, so it would be meaningless honestly, beyond potentially entertaining others (or even annoying them). I also tend to find myself repeating myself after the 2nd post, as shown above, which accomplishes nothing. If you want to know anything else though, feel free to ask~
I still rarely completed the weekly daily some only play 1 hour a day or only on weekends.
Its not very valuable for the masses right now imo as casuals in general don't play long enough to make the most out of it.
Oh I was assuming you were referring to the months of TAR as most people do when they reference gold inflation. What significant gold influx happened 2 days ago? Was it just rally bams over and over?
I mean when you start off your post by claiming I'm spreading false information and I personally don't think I am then yes I'm going to take your entire stance as your opinion because in my eyes it's not true at all but since I know there's no point in trying to convince you otherwise I'm just laying down some more info for you to consider if you so desire because again I think my comment was highly relevant and not just "false information".
I ignored it because I don't really see how that provided anything beyond the obvious cost goes up if demand is still there and supply goes down. The gold to buy things at high emp rates always existed a long time ago because of the level 60 faction dailies (many people were sitting on gold piles over 15 million gold even when emp rates were 1:5) it's just that there has always been a large amount of people supplying emp (because things like mwa/mes/gear/feedstock cost more back then) and thus competing for gold so there was no reason to pay more gold than you had to but now the tables have turned so you need to use more gold to fight for the small amount of emp left and of course elite vouchers are going to be one of the first items to feel this effect. It's just a emp supply issue with nothing to do with gold inflation at all and recent changes/events have definitely had an impact on the supply which is why I made that comment and why I'm even responding to you claiming I'm spreading "false information".
I mean on a personal level I actually don't care at all about what course this game takes (event/content/mechanics ect.) because I'll just quit as soon as I don't find things enjoyable/to my liking anymore because that's the point of playing games...for entertainment right? Despite that, I continually express how things like mongos/fwc changes are bad because like every other player I'd like to see this game continue on so people should stop and think before asking for/encouraging mongo events all the time or saying equalized fraywind has saved the pvp scene.
