New Player Questions
I am looking into starting Tera, though I have played other MMO's before.
1: I plan to check out the free to play version first but after that what is the difference between the box version and adding slots as needed. I see that if I add slots as needed I get exp bonus to level faster.
2: Server. I see PVE RP-PVE, and PVP servers. once I pick one am I stuck there?
3: Forced to PVP. Reading I see maps can have free roaming PVP. Do you have to do that? Do you need PVP to advance?
4: Solo play. Can I play the game solo or with just one friend even at higher levels solo? I understand dungeons need more.
5: What is a reaper? Do you pick that after you level? What classes work best with a reaper?
6: Suggestions for mostly solo play? I am looking mostly at Mystic or Sorcerer. Slightly interested in slayer, Ranger or Priest
Can you explain pluses and minus of them?
7: Love the new underwear outfits. How do you get that? Does it function as armor?
8: Why do I have a stupid name "DF4JKDAHJP" I never saw a place to pick a real one, so this was auto assigned.

2. Yes you are stuck there unless you want to spend money on a server transfer, but that doesn't mean there isn't PvP settings in the PvE servers.
3. I play on a PvE server but I assume the PvP areas are just certain areas on the map to kill other players and get some decent resources or loot.
4. Yes you can play this game solo but end game you need a party to do the higher level dungeons.
5. A reaper is a mid-ranged dps class but you need a lv 40 character already on that server in order to create one. Reapers start at lv 50.
6. Sorc and mystic are both fine for solo play as the sorc just got a rework it is very nice to play. If you want to know more about the individual classes just look them up based on what you want to do. Tank,heal,dps,support.
7. you can get some basic underwear ingame which yes it does have decent stats.

1. The "free" version is generally the main version. The standard version has stopped selling a while back, but you can still by it on amazon for a fairly cheap price. There is two purchasable versions of TERA, one being founders, another being collectors. The founders, if written correctly will grant you: Account Title: "Founders", 8 Character Slots (Server-wide), Exclusive Terminus Mount (Non-flying 280 Speed Argon Horse, (Account)), and 288 Bank Slots (4 out of 8 Bank Tabs). Typing the founders code backwards will give you two Semi-Engimatic Scroll, Tawny Huntress Mount (Non-flying 280 Speed Female Lion Mount(Character)) and Two Emeralds (Sellback: 1,000g each). Collectors isn't really worth getting unless you're interested in the Regal Frostlion Mount (Non-Flying 280 Speed Male Lion Mount (Character)).
Elite Status, however, will help you out in the long run, and it doesn't need to be explained because I'm sure others will help you out.
2. You can switch between servers at any time, and have a maximum of 16 characters per server. Transfering characters without elite will cost you 2,495 EMP (Roughly 25 USD).
3. You don't need to PVP, it's not needed to advance any quest... Except dailies at LV 65.
4. You can solo play or play in a party/guild, it's up to you. Getting from LV 1 to LV 22 has been made so easy that it can be done in an hour and from their you can chose to play mini-games in the battlegrounds like Kumas Royale or Iron Battlegrounds at LV 25 to level up faster. You can also wait for dungeon parties with the cross-server instant matching, but it might take a while for the queue to populate.
5. A reaper is a Elin-only class that you can create and play as after you get one of your characters to LV 40. When that's done, you will spawn in a tutorial zone at LV 50 and progress until it hit LV 58. From there you can explore the open world.
6. I can't explain that personally except for what you game play style is and your skill on mastering the class. You want to make sure you know your cooldowns, combos and what your class needs to wear. It's not really about how strong your gear is if you're a good player. Though, some players might disagree on that.
7. All underwear and innerwear does function as armor. Different variations are made to benefit different classes and gearing types. (Ex: +16 Crit or +8 Power, etc). If you want your underwear to be seen by you and other players while you have armor or a costume on, there is a potion that's sold at the Federation Bill Merchant scattered all around TERA that sells potions just for that.
8. To change your forum name: TERA Main Page>(Top Right Corner)Account Settings>Change Nickname>Confirm

If I buy this: will the serial code give me founders for my current free account?
*NOTE: Applying a Founder's code will overwrite existing account upgrades to bank storage and character slots. The account will be upgraded to 4 total bank tabs and 8 total character slots per server, regardless of previous individual upgrades on the account.

It will give you the serial code, it's found inside the box on the manual's side of the case. You will get the Founder's status along with the other free goodies. But if you do get the code, make sure to type the code correctly, then type the code backwards.
