Etchings: Are They Worth It?

So I'm just curious... after you get perfect rolls and max gear, are etchings the next step you should take? I've heard they're insanely expensive and not many people really bother with them, or at least the more casual players. Do they really make that big of a difference?

  • Yu should always have etchings on yur weapon and gloves at least for any DPS or Tank.

Anyone who says they play casually and don't use them probably just suck [filtered] and get carried through things.

    T2 etchings are reasonable price.

You can get T2 etchings doing Ace Dungeons daily. They take a couple minutes per run. There tends to be down times, so just run them when ever you're waiting for groups or something.

On average, at least for me, I get around 220 Ace credits? per run.
It takes 8000 credits to purchase one Tier 2 etching from the Ace Dungeon Mrechant.
You can do a maximum of 4 runs (2 Baracos' Trial and 2 Akasha's Trial) per day.
    8000 points * 1 run / 220 points * 1 day / 4 runs = 9.09 days

    For 9 days:
    220 points / run * 4 runs / day * 9 days = 7920 points

So technically, you can try random missions and get lucky for more points and get a Tier 2 etching in 9 days, or
Grind 10 days for a free Tier 2 etching

I usually do Timer and Hit from boss because having to do S+ rank for 150 combo on Archer is just pure cancer. doing that with Timer? kill me.

    Cheers o/
  • Yes. You should always use etchings.
  • I'd say yes at least have etchings on your weapon and gloves. They're not hard to make just do some gathering for the mats and you should have enough to make a few or buy some from TB or WTB in chat.
  • Get at least t2 etchings. They are not ridiculously expensive. t3 etchings are luxuries. For tanks, get grounded ii for both chest and boots as well

Etching II is honestly not that hard to grind if you are a daily player.

If you are like me who can only play in the weekends, Etchings are a luxury because the 10 days translate to a little more than a month.

I play as brawler semi-casually and don't use etchings, yet still can do well enough in hard content, so idk where you got that notion from :^)
  • Getting kicked out of LKNM does not constitute as hard content.
  • You dont NEED etchings to pull your weight in parties, for hard modes its prefered to have atleast t2 etchings, but not at all an obligation to have some

    where?
  • nah tbh no etching life is best life.

Crafting them, not at all. That is RNGING Etch not craft, crit that to craft this, crit this to craft that. Even with additives you fail to crit and many stuff you crafted, gathered, bought, grind are going to be a waste.

If we get those extra additives that makes it 100% to crit, that might help a lot. As said do ace dungeons, specially now that new gears make it way way faster.
  • I just bought mine off the Broker for Weapon, Gloves, Boots, and Chest.
Farmed up the cash off IOD dailies was much faster across all characters than doing the lame ACE dungeon across 10 days.
I'd say if you have enough characters you can farm up enough gold in one day to kit out a character. All in all I think I get done with my IOD farms really really fast....Having a lot of the same character class on the account really helps with that though.
