REPOST: The state of EME Staff

This post was previously removed, I have since edited it to sound less mean. If this post is removed again despite there being no profanity, vitriol, or otherwise, then I have lost all hope for this game.

@Spacecats Most of us in the community are really confused on how it's possible to continue to mess up and it really does seem as if the EME staff is just covering up their mistakes and coming up with shorthanded excuses and appeal to our sympathy in an attempt to gain the moral high ground.

Further attempts to save face come off as poorly constructed, and seem to further alienate the loyal community who have been with tera for a long period of time. It's time for this to stop. It can be easily fixed with an apology towards the community, and to fix the issue we are all asking for.

There have been a few discrepancies in the conduct and handling of TERA. More recently, it appears that reset scrolls have been broken at the start of patches, yet they were fixed at latest by the start of the next week. This is not the case with the latest patch. A lot of people are very obviously unhappy with this, and especially with the latest announcement that the future fixing of the reset scrolls will NOT include the two newest dungeons is completely unacceptable. There was no clear communication that there was future intent to change the function of reset scrolls, and two weeks after the patch we are still going to be unable to use it?

I have a hard time believing this was not seen coming. The changes would obviously be noticed immediately. We as a community do not understand why there was no notice of acknoledgement until far into the complaints.

Im shocked that you're still making us wait instead of hotfixing.

It really appears that you dont care about a very vocal majority of your community, and it is completely obvious that just fixing reset scrolls in their entirety would make everyone happy.

Going forward and attempting to continue on your current path will only serve to annoy and alienate your playerbase further. It needs to stop.

EME staff promised more clear and more frequent communication, and you are simply upsetting everyonr futher by damage controls and not fixing the issue.

@Spacecats
Tl;Dr: fix resets. People happy. Dont change things without announcement and expect that nobody will notice or be upset.

Also, stop screwing us over. Just fix the scrolls.

    I appreciate you taking the time to post your thoughts in a way that complies with the forum rules. Those rules are here so we can have great discussions even when it's about something that need improving. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

    That's an easy thing to answer, but easily excused/dismissed especially during times when things are broken. TERA is a living, breathing game with constant updates being made to a variety of systems which have been implemented over years of development. It's not possible for us to catch some of the small things (small in the grand scheme of the game, not small in impact, like a single-item getting broken). If nothing ever changed in TERA, there would be no new bugs, but that would be a pretty boring state of being for an MMO.

    Really sorry you feel this way. We're trying our absolute best! Is there a specific "attempt to save face" that you're thinking of? Most of our time has been spent either answering questions, implementing small fixes while we wait for answers to big fixes, or organizing future events. Communicating is important, but we know that the real communication players want is the news that they're about to get what they want. At the moment, that isn't happening (which is upsetting, naturally). But we're not about to make a promise that we know we can't keep. We owe you better than that.

    I feel like this is the crux of your post, BUT... there are already a lot of posts about Instance Reset Scrolls. It's on everyone's mind, especially ours. So let's just say this thread is NOT a duplicate and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. <3

    Denommenator's announcement actually said "Any solution would include dungeons that could previously be reset pre-patch (SS, SSHM, DF, and DFHM) as well as LK and RM."

    Our QA team doesn't test things like this (nor is it able to, in the interest of getting content out in a timely manner), especially if they are not part of an update. Getting a little deeper into our process, we're provided with notes detailing game changes, and we make sure those work properly and are localized from Korean in a way that makes sense.

    Again, we could not communicate the Instance Reset Scroll issue because we did not realize they wouldn't function as they have been. Because the Instance Reset Scrolls aren't in many other regions, it's not something Bluehole saw coming either. We're currently awaiting answers from Bluehole that will prevent scrolls from breaking again in the future. While it's unfortunate that they broke in the first place, we've been working very hard to correct the issue.
