My Thoughts on the Current State of PvP and Fraywind
It's so hard to gear for PvP now. Getting 200k credits for a single Conflate design in this day and age is a monster achievement.
Queues for everything other than tanks are dead and even the tank queues takes me 5-10 minutes.
At the end of the day, people who don't already have conflate or PvP gear are going to struggle so much.
The entry of PvP in Tera is the biggest thing people overlook when complaining on how dead Tera's PvP scene is.
If unequalized Fraywind does bring the BG back from the dead, where are all the not currently PvP geared players going to get the credits for their PvP gear?
Wouldn't they queue Fraywind regardless because it's active? Only to get slaughtered (pun intended) and discouraged from trying again? That's actually an issue with Skyring as well, you need hella thick skin to keep going at it if you're a first timer.
If anything, they'll go back to playing with tanks and being big stronk Kumas. The entry for those BGs are so low and the learning curve is also super low. But you see, that's the issue. In those BGs those players may eventually get the credits for their PvP gear, but they'll never learn just how to PvP.
Again, the entry for PvP in Tera is garbo. Corsair's was the best way to get PvP gear and learn PvP at the same time.
With Corsair's now dead, where are new players going to get the gear AND learn how to PvP?
Making Fraywind unequalized may make the people who are vocal on the forums happy, but if you're making content to sustain and not bring in anyone new, you're setting yourself up for failure.
TL;DR: Introduce a BG that brings players into the PvP of Tera or try to revive Corsair's on top of making Fraywind unequalized. I strongly believe that the future of PvP ended with the death of Corsair's Stronghold.

You and I are most likely veterans of PvP. To us, gear doesn't mean much at all. Dreadnaught is probably enough for those who understand PvP to feel confident.
The point of the original post was that the current BGs do very little to help players who aren't familiar with Tera's PvP to actually prepare for it. Gearing for PvP gear in a BG that doesn't provide any actual PvP combat experience is an issue and even more so now since it's the only option outside of doing what you did and paying $$$.
It's important to read everything before responding or else you're wasting your time with an irrelevant post and my time as well by having me correct you.
TL;DR Getting Conflate is an issue right now due to the lack of actual PvP activity unless you do what Immisively and spend money on materials and designs that most likely aren't being sold. Additionally, none of the currently active BGs that give you credits actually prepares you for PvP.
That is the method I use to cap my BC on multiple alts in around 3 days time, maybe 5 if get trap raids and don't get lead, but most times if you ask for it, most ppl will hand it over. Mind you, I cap 15 alts in less than a business week 's time.
Also this is for BC as for KS solo 3s sometimes pops...sometimes...lel
But yeah, kumas/world of tanks doesn't help newcomers get Into pvp, it is not even related In the slightest to tera pvp lol. Maybe if they nerfed the rewards of those two dungeons we'd see cs pop more often...and unequalize fwc!
I didnt run more than 15 dungeons/each patch from VM5 to VM8 (Tensus/Lucid until now >w>)
I just dont have anything to do anymore so im running dungeons a lot..there is no PvP right now besides CU. Kumasylum and World Of Tanks isnt PvP and i dont feel any appeal on it.
They killed FWC in purpose, trying to make CS exist again maybe?, but now both FWC and CS are dead.
So now im a PvEer i guess :v due to that being the only thing this game has to offer.
Pretty sure im not the only one like this since each day i go to VO -that was already almost empty in my server- i see less and less people.
Kinda sad honestly.
Did you even read the original post? Shes reaching out trying to help the PvP experience of the game duh!
Reward: Getting better at the game.
Reward: Actually knowing and mastering your class.
Reward: Mastering teamwork and coordination.
Reward: A goal which motivates you to gear.
XDXD..
PvP in tera has always been about:
1) Reaction
2) Combos
3) Awareness
4) Understanding of your class, teamcomp etc. and your opponents'
Even in zergs if players are more aware about their weak positions they can effectively avoid it.
PvP across all action-type games are brutal to newcomers. You are already behind not just in gear, but also in experience, which cannot be bought with gold or irl cash.
No Battleground can truly teach a new player how to pvp. Look at MOBAs like DotA and LoL. The maps don't teach the players. The players themselves learn themselves through hours, days and months of practicing. Look at FPSes like CS and the like. I don't think competitive relies on having actual gear.
The only difference between that and RPG-esque games, is that gearing is actually a thing.
The reason why 90% of the casual players will never make it into the PvP scene, is because they don't have the heart to spend weeks practicing and losing till they perfect their skillset. Heck we are also looking at players who are complaining they can't complete more than 2 RMHMs a day and saying they don't have anything else to do. If more of these end-game players actually band up a group and start battlegrounds rolling, then PvP won't be that dead to begin with. But no, they choose to "hate pvp" and only do dungeons. There are more +15 players in this game than people actually think.
Kuma's and the tank battleground are barely a bandaid to helping PvP players get past the gearing stage, they shouldn't even be giving fast credits for the time they spend.
Thus the initial solution I would propose would be this:
1) Remove ability to spam kick in Solo-Q 3s
Crusade is already gone. If you are experienced and you feel like you are carrying deadweights, its something we have to accept it. We don't lose much on a loss anymore, so stop thinking that losing is a waste of time.
1.5) Make it such that you need to accept the entry before entering battlegrounds.
That way you don't have to see AFKers.
2) Reduce the credit reward for Kuma's and Tank, and seriously half the exp for lowbies.
It is funny to see people getting to 65 without even knowing how half their skills work in dungeons.
3) Removing Noctenium buff in EVERY SINGLE BATTLEGROUND.
Seriously. This makes it even easier for more experienced players to collapse on newer ones. Removing it will still make it that kills are possible, but damage will feel more balanced.
4) Disable Hardy/Anarchic/etc PvE crystals in battlegrounds.
This is not something that is easy to implement, but when implemented could get PvE players used to actual PvP setups.
5) Buff rewards for FWC, CS, Grid with BG of the day rewards like daily dungeon rewards.
6) Make it harsher on players who AFK.
If kicked multiple times due to afk, give a credit debuff. Stop encouraging PvE players that AFKing when you are about to lose is proper behaviour.
7) Make it slightly easier to gear up.
I will be honest, the Conflate costs are way too high. If you want people to enjoy the pvp aspect of the game, at least make it such that it is not that hard to grind for it.
