I'm okay with becoming a swiper. I've accepted my fate.
"... Alas, the money I give to Enmasse will allow TERA and I to become one; allowing myself to live as an elitist god for the years to come."
  • Kakao Games - Seeing as how they managed to run BDO into the ground: Nope

Former NC SOFT Vet - seeing as how ncsoft sued the nuts off BHS for TERA: nope

Bluehole throwing a subsidiary company aside for Kakao - Probably because Kakao is quite ready to throw their customers into to p2w abyss: nope

BHS making new mmorpg while pushing trash updates for their flagship product - there are various situations that can explain this and none of them are good for Tera or project W: nooooope

Lets be real. Would yu let EME publish yur new game?

Yes, I'm quite sure EME is so bad compared to Kakao, lets completely ignored the handling of their other recent game and how they threatened their player base. People are allowed to generally say almost anything they want, even slandering EME employees. You can't even slightly criticize them without facing punishment. They had even renamed their company, but I'm sure they are magically better than EME for simply not publishing Tera. EME has given BHS a hard time with the disagreements, I don't see why anyone would continue to insist EME is doing a bad job. Do you honestly believe any of these European publishers that all have a history of generally not caring at all would do a better job? Fairly certain if Kakao were the ones publishing Tera they wouldn't have even bothered to negotiate at all about the dragons and simply allowed BHS to screw us all over in peace. Just because EME failed to keep the system they had in mind doesn't mean they did nothing. If all you look at are the results you might as well say no one ever does anything, including yourself.

I'm not sure in what world a publisher that screws over their player base, makes very vague promises and even edits their statements along with threatening to take their customers through the legal/justice system an "acceptable" publisher.

I can add that while we're aware of Project W here at En Masse, Bluehole is used to working with multiple publishers just as we're used to working with multiple developers. They're going the route they feel is best for this particular project. This doesn't affect the TERA you guys know and love. En Masse will continue supporting TERA as best we can, and like you guys we wish Bluehole luck with Project W. We look forward to seeing what happens!

BDO publisher +NCsoft+ BHS = i smell a p2w game that will die in less than 2 years in western market
The main issue is that if, actually when, it flops, guess which game BHS will milk to recuperate the losses?

ye tera die with project w and more free time for me :3

but it suck i have to lost my cute elin o:)
  • @Spacecats I have a question:

IF (And this is a real possibility) Kakao fails on publishing Project W (As many, MANY players will be unsure about playing the game by being published by the same guys that ruined BDO), is it possible for BHS to let EME to publish it later?

As far as I know, they won't dump Project W because it took a ton of sources (Money, time, people...), so they won't let it fail as easy as I'm saying, but knowing Kakao it is possible that players won't attend a P2W game, or a BDO-like fiasco, so they wouldn't reach the expectations and turn the servers off.
  • If this game ever makes it to the west it'd be BDO 2.0. The game will be B2P $90 just for the base game with a $30 dollars monthly subscription and let's not for get the mandatory cash shop, oh and a $60 dollar Season One pass (Season Two still in development) and all important micro transactions will be separated from the cash shop.
Count me in, I've already swiped my card P2W for life.

    yissssss
  • Kakao gaming

    Ahahahahahaaa

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Dead on arrival game. No one who is aware of how they handled BDO will ever touch anything they do again. They were handed a fantastic game and managed to turn it into one of the most pathetic failures of 2016 with their greed.

I used to place Aeria games at the top of my most disliked publishers but my opinion changed a few months after playing Black Desert, back when Kakao went by Daum.

That game had some potential but it was basically ruined by the publisher and their greed. Coulda been a huge success but now we got that failure of a game :/

Well, that aside, that experience alone has left me with a bad impression that will prevent me from playing any game they publish In the future, even if it is Tera's "successor".

Trying to be positive here, but there is the chance that Kakao will handle things very differently than with BDO, due to the massive failure in the way it was handled. Even the company knew it was handled terribly so I have doubts that they would do the same thing again. They wouldn't be able to handle the backlash not just because of PR but also fiscally. Especially if they put money towards BHS in order to get help the project get funded.

Dont kid yourself, that company, as many others, dont care one bit for their players or anything else, their sole purpose is to make money in the west and thats also the only reason why these asian mmos come here.
Its a known thing that eastern developers care nothing for what western players want, besides their money and BHS's new mmo wont be any differnt just as many other mmos before and after it.

BDO being a B2P and turning into a P2W mess is exactly why players should have ZERO say in anything that revolves around forcing other players into breaking in their wallets for something they cant even enforce a big company to repeal.

Stick to just QQing on forums how OP other classes are or talking about missing game features that you wish the game had.
But DO NOT NEVER EVER force half a million players to pay right into the pockets of these fraudulent sc*mbags who would not even 6 months later back peddle on their promises and made thousands of players then leave due to their bs skirmish tactics would ruin such a big game. Also BDO was build from ground up to be a free 2 play mmo, Insane grindfest and lack of content only halted its population and lack of B2P sales.
Kakao games is just a terrible insecure publisher that only takes feedback from bunch of SHEEP minority!

And we dont even know if project W will even be good. I hope its not some sci-fi rubbish or some cookie cutter fps. It has to be fantasy, have combat like tera or maybe more realistic like witcher 3's where skill over gear is involved and have no gender locked classes to be successful.
